Rough Cut met Maud Pie during their studies in college. After a ‘rocky’ start, they became friends and have remained close ever since. While he enjoys her company, there has always been a small trait of hers that he enjoyed seeing: her smile. He knows that it is rare, but he wants to see it as well as be someone who can make her smile...and an opportunity arises during her next visit to Ponyville.
