Clawed
Prologue- Screwed
Load Full StoryI ran down the road, kicking dirt in somepony’s face and make them cough. “Sorry!” I shouted, looking at the brown stallion with the hourglass cutie mark behind me.
Distracted, I bumped into somepony in front of me and fell on top of the pony. I heard a piercing crack as I fell on top of that pony’s leg.
That did NOT sound good!
“Thy mass is crushing my leg!”, the pony beneath me screamed. I pulled myself up off the pony and my eyes widened when I saw who it was.
Oh sweet Celestia, I’m dead.
“S-so sorry, p-princess! I wasn’t paying attention and I just--!” I exclaimed, but unable to finish, for Princess Luna hushed me mid-apology.
“Maybe thou shalt find a doctor for my leg? Afterwards we shall speak of a punishment for thy.”.
I cringed and nodded.
I pulled Luna up onto my back and carried her to the nearest hospital, the Ponyville hospital. I struggled to carry her down the road because even though earth ponies like me are supposed to be incredibly strong, she was more so heavy.
I heard ponies gasp as I trudged, carrying her down the road to the hospital.
“The princess is hurt!”
“Who’s that carrying her?”
“It looks like Wood Cutter!”
“Definitely is. He’s got the red coat, brown mane, and wood pile cutie mark.”
“It’s so valiant of him to carry the princess to the hospital like that!”
I rolled my eyes at the ignorance of the situation and continued struggling my way down the street.
A few minutes down the road I felt the princess’s weight being lifted off my back and turned my head to see Princess Twilight lifting the princess off my back with her magic.
“Don’t worry, I got her.” She said to me and walked besides me.
“Thanks,” I sighed, letting my head droop a bit.
“You’re quite welcome. It looked like you needed help carrying her.” Twilight said, smiling at me.
“Hast thou made it to the hospital yet?” the princess said, looking down at us.
I looked up at her and reassured her. “We’re almost there. We’ll go straight to the emergency ward when we get there. I promise.”
When we finally got to the hospital, the doctors rushed the princess and Twilight down to the emergency ward, but kept me from going to see what was wrong with the princess’s leg. They told me to stay in the waiting room and wait. I groaned and walked back, waiting to hear the damage I did to the princess.
An hour passed by as I waited to hear the news. There were a few other ponies in the waiting room before, but one by one they were all allowed to see the pony whom they came to either visit or provide aid.
I was all alone in the waiting room, playing with a little glass marble I found on the table. I rolled it back and forth nervously, waiting to hear the worst.
Numerous conditions flew through my mind as I rolled the glass marble around on the coffee table.
Maybe I shattered her leg...maybe I dislocated it...or maybe I broke it! Or maybe...
Just when my thoughts were starting to spin out of control, I heard the door to the waiting room open. Princess Celestia entered the room and I cringed. She looked at me and gave me a half smile.
“Hello there, my little pony. Are you the one who carried my sister here?”
I nodded.
“Are you also the pony who ran into my sister?” She asked me.
I nodded again, more reluctantly this time, for I expected her to scream or yell at me.
She sighs and touches her wing to my shoulder. I tense up.“You need not be afraid, my little pony. I am not mad at you.”
I sigh and she continues, “Though, Luna I cannot speak for…”
I tense up again.
“She wishes to punish you, even though you tried so hard to mend your mistake.”
“I…” I started to speak but she covered my muzzle with her hoof.
“I for one do not see why you need be punished. You are trying to mend the mistake and it looks like you're really upset about Luna’s leg. Is it not true that you are upset over what happened to her leg?” She asked.
I nodded again.
“Then I don’t see why you need be punished… but I’m not the one to make the judgement. Luna is the one to make that decision.”
I started to shake nervously and thoughts started to whiz through my head again.
What’s she going to do to me? Banish me to the moon? No, that’s not likely. What if she banishes me to the sun?!? Can she do that?!? Oh no…oh no…oooh no…ooooh nooooooooo.
Princess Celestia wrapped her hoof around me and pulled me close to her chest, which slowed my rapid, short breathing to a more steady, lengthened one.
“Come. Let us see my sister. I can get you in to see her.” She helped me down the hall and out the doors of the waiting room to the hallway leading to the ER.
We got to the doors of the ER and the nurse at the desk told the princess that I was not allowed into the room.
“Princess Luna doesn’t want to see him, your highness.”
“You shall let him speak with her. My orders.”
The nurse sighed, “Very well, your majesty. He may go in.”
Princess Celestia took me to Luna’s room and I stand at the door shaking with fear.
I didn’t want to see how I hurt her and I definitely didn’t want to confront her. But I opened the door and walked into the room anyway.
Luna looked at me and scowled, “You.” She spat at me angrily.
I cringed and said quietly, “Hey…”.
“Thou hast broken my leg, so as of now, you are exiled to the Everfree forest. Whilst in exile thou is not allowed to talk to anypony. Thou are not permitted to leave the forest under any circumstances. Does thou understand?” She barked this question at me angrily.
I nodded, but it felt like my whole world came crashing down around me. Twilight and Celestia both gave me pitiful looks as I walked out of the room. I walked out of the hospital doors and onto the streets of the town I would never see again.
