She wasn't in at the moment, he didn't mind. He knew she would come back to take him to the pony pet play date with her friends. For him, time was fast, he thought there was never enough time to do anything, although this was because he moved very slowly, it made Rainbow Dash the fastest flyer in the world in his eyes. He slowly stood up and walked towards the edge of the bed, he feel onto the cloud underneath, Tank was very cautious when he first arrived at Rainbow Dash's house, but his friend's owner Twilight had cast a spell that would permanently walk on clouds. He decided to do some exercises so he could be ready when Rainbow Dash took him to the pony pet play date. He bent his knees up and down a few times, he rolled onto his shell and tried to get up on his own, it was his way of sit-ups, he ran, walked, to the end of the room. He was impressed by the speed he was going at, he looked at the clock, seeing he still had plenty of time. He was used to having so much time to himself, Rainbow Dash was often away with her friends on some crazy adventure that Tank was always interested about. He decided to read one of the Daring Do books piled next to Rainbow Dash's bed, he pulled a book out and opened it with his head and began to read. Rainbow Dash was late, she had spent so much time hanging out with her pegasus she forgot about the pony pet play date. She quickly flew through the sky, kicking at the clouds, she had to finish her job faster than ever, which wasn't a problem since her record was 10 seconds, she had done 4 seconds and cleared 1/3 of Ponyville before she crashed into some pony, she had been so busy she forgot to monitor the sky, she looked up and saw a stallion, his coat was cyan, his mane was a dark blue in a messy style, his eyes emerald green, she knew who he was, what surprised her was the fact he wasn't wearing his uniform. "Oh sorry Soarin," she blushed. "I was just in a hurry I didn't see where I was going," Soarin shrugged. "It's okay, in fact, you're just the pegasus I wanted to see," "What?" why did one of the best flyers in Equestria want to see her? "Don't tell any pony," he whispered, "But I think you're faster Spitfire," he winked. Rainbow Dash was shocked at the compliment, but she kept her cool. "Yeah, I am pretty awesome aren't I?" They both laughed. "But who said you're faster than me?" he asked. Rainbow's eyes narrowed. "You're on!" she grinned, "First one to my place wins!" Soarin raised an eyebrow. "But I don't know where-" "ONE, TWO, THREE GO!" she quickly yelled, she zoomed past him. He quickly followed the rainbow trail, he was soon neck and neck with Rainbow Dash. Each one of them slightly going ahead of one another, their wings climbing the air. They both saw s cloud house hovering above the ground, Soarin quickly stole a glance at her before Rainbow Dash overtook him, she landed on the porch, she unlocked the door and leaned against the wall and watched the Wonderbolt crash into her house. She rolled on the ground laughing. She heard a yelp come from inside. She peered in and saw Soarin lying next to a green shell which had four feet and a tail coming out of four holes, one hole however remained empty. "Where's the head!?" Soarin gasped. A small green head slowly came out and peered at the cyan pegasus. It gave him a disapproving look. Rainbow Dash laughed, she flew over to her pet and tapped him gently on his shell. "This is my pet tortoise, his name is Tank," Soarin was about question why she had a pet tortoise noticed it was standing on the cloud. "How is he standing on cloud?" "You remember my friend Twilight, she cast the same spell on him when my friends needed to walk on clouds, it lasts about a week so I take him to see a unicorn every weekend." She remembered the pony pet play date, she didn't want to be rude to one of her idols, "Say, Tank and I were going to hang out with our friends, wanna come?" Shocked, Tank glanced at Rainbow Dash. "Sure, although I don't have a pet, it would be cool," Rainbow Dash grinned, she grabbed Tank's helicopter-thing and fastened it tightly around Tank's shell, Tank was lifted off the ground and headed towards the door. "Cool," Soarin gasped, he didn't bother questioning how the magic was staying a light. The two pegasi followed the flying tortoise. When the three arrived, Pinkie, with Gummy sitting on her back, tackled Rainbow Dash into a hug. "Hey Dashie! What took you so long?" "I was distracted, but I brought a friend." Pinkie Pie looked up at the other pegasus behind her. "Hey your that party pony who was at the Royal Wedding!" Soarin stated. "Yup! And your that Wonderbolt that Dashie was dancing with," Apple Jack, Twilight, Rarity and Fluttershy came into view followed by a dog, bunny, owl and cat. "Howdy there Rainbow, see ya 'brought a friend," the country pony greeted, "Hey, your that wonderbolt who bought my pie," "Yeah, got anymore?" Soarin asked, "I skipped breakfast." "Well ya'll should go get some ya self, Sweet Apple Acres has the best apples in Ponyville," Rainbow Dash cut in to the conversation, "More like the best in Equestria!" The others laughed in agreement. Eveypony went to play with their pets, all except Rainbow Dash who sat next to the wonderbolt telling him about her adventures, Tank however, didn't share their joy, all he felt, was depression. Which was how he felt for the rest of the Play Date.
