Q'Aem Qar'is Allis has recently suffered a humiliating and costly setback in her attempts to take over Canterlot.

With her soldiers and officers limping back towards the changeling capitol, Kyriv Ria'Dask, she hopes she can make it back before her councillors declare her dead and replace her.

A/N: This story disregards the canonicity of the IDW comics (both the Return of Queen Chrysalis arc, and the upcoming Fiendship is Magic), so I apologise in advance to all three of you who read them.

I have also opted to rename Chrysalis to Qar'is Allis (phonetically sounds like Chrysalis, the ponies just assumed that is what she was saying) so as to give the changelings their own culture and history, as opposed to bug-themed ponies.

The story is set just after A Canterlot Wedding, but I don't think it does anything that contradicts with show-canon up to the end of Season 4.
