After the Noldor returned to their beloved home, Tirion, following the War of Wrath, they grew restless and discontented after the horrors of war they had shared a part of in Beleriand. They could not find the rest that their souls so dearly desired, in large part because of their dead Teleri kinsman murdered at their own hands so many years ago. As it turns out, a guild of craftsman among the Noldor used their power and mastery over the elements to construct a crystal doorway. They soon discover that they, quite by accident, crafted the door in such a way that generated a portal to another world within. They are forbidden from passing through, however, by their Maiar superiors, who, when they find out about the portal, tell them that such an enormous matter must be brought before the Valar. After their appeal to the Valar, Mandos foresees the establishing of the once-rebellious Noldor in the lands of Equestria, to heal them and teach them the magic of friendship as the cure for their suffering minds–and leading them to fully repent of their horrendous deeds. Manwe declares that three Maiar emissaries are to be sent through the portal first, to explore and find a new home for the returned Noldor, and to protect them from unforeseen dangers in this new world.
