Morning had just arrived in the world outside of the whipstaff manor but life within the walls had only just began. A small filly sat in the backyard behind the house, a backyard full of magical and mysterious flora and fauna but the thick, high, grey walls that surrounded it was depressing to the small filly. Even the mini playground that rested within the grasses was untouched, because she had nopony to share it with. Not even her older sister would play with her anymore and it made her feel lonely.
The filly herself sat at a porch table that had a rainbow colored umbrella to block the sunlight. Her sunbathed lavender coat shimmered as a little patch of sunlight laid upon it. The filly's sunkissed golden mane, with it's pink and magenta streaks, laid limp by her ears. And as for her eyes, they were a dull, lifeless blue that would have looked like the endless ocean had the filly been happy and full of life. The filly's flank was blank like most of the foals that lived outside of her confinements, not that she ever saw them.
The only pony that the young filly knew came from the outside world was her tutor, Madame Sapphire, who came in to teach her things that a good lady and future wife should know. Things that she thought the foals of the outside world were taught day in day out, but she was way off and she would never know it. But she was also taught various subjects, ranging from math to advanced religious studies and the reign of Discord from before the reign of their beloved princesses, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
''Miss Swirling Galaxy?'' called a voice, it was one of the servants of the house.
Swirling Galaxy sighed with a sad tone in her voice, she wasn't suppose to really be outside at this moment in time, she was suppose to be asleep, it was really early in the morning after all. Celestia hadn't even risen the sun at this praticular point in time, though she could see it peeking up from behind the gateless fence which was her border.
''Young miss, your not meant to be up at this time.'' said the maid, Miss Winter with a kind tone. ''What will your father think?''
''I'm sorry...'' mumbled Swirling Galaxy, with her head bent down.
''A true lady does not bow her head.....'' mumbled the maid. ''You know that, don't you?''
The filly nodded, mostly to herself before running off into her bedroom. She sighed, as she pushed close the door and slide down it into a sitting position. She wanted for once to have a life of her own, where she made her own choices and decisions, and not be controlled her entire life. She glanced around the room, it was the room of a filly princess. With a double bed of pink, with veils all around. Purple walls and a pink carpet and the pile of toys stacks to the ceiling. But it wasn't what she wanted, she wanted a more normal room.
''Might as well go to sleep....for a few hours, anyway.'' mumbled the young child to herself. She slowly slipped into her bed, and laid her small head on the bed. She struggled to force herself to sleep for some time, but soon enough the warm embrace of sleep engulfed her.
Dream sequence.
She blinked before looking around the star-filled plane that she now stood. She wasn't stupid however, she knew fully well this was a dream, no such plane should exist in reality. She walked forward along the starry path before she ran into something. Something that she was never expecting to see within her whole life. Princess Luna in the flesh. She was even more beautiful in person, her star lit mane that billowed in the wind, even when there was never a wind nearby. Her regality was stunning in Swirling Galaxy's eyes, and it made her question one thing. Why was Princess Luna in her dream?
''Am I dreaming about Princess Luna....'' mumbled the young filly. ''Or is she here in my dream?''
''I can assure you, young filly, that this is full well a dream but I can also tell you that this isn't you imaginating me.'' said the lunar princess, much to the filly's shock.
''What do you mean?...................''
''What I mean is that my job is the enter the dreams of my subjects to protect them from nightmares, Galaxia, and your nightmare is a troubling one. You don't want to be controlled?''
''No.....'' mumbled Galaxia. ''I've been controlled my entire life.....and I just want to be able to make my own decisions and learn my own talents.''
''But, Galaxia, I also know your biggest wish. Your wish is to have friends, is it not?''
''It is, being locked within an border, with no contract with the outer world......Why couldn't my papa just let me go to normal school with the other foals my age, the ones that I see coming and going from the attic window?....''
''Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your father want you to be a successful housewife, with no chance of your own life?'' said Luna, with a kind tone.
''It's correct, he has wanted me to be a housewife since my birth, literally............ Mama wanted me to have a normal life, but after her death by the illness that wrecked her body, papa changed and forced me into my isolated life..................''
''Well, I can help you get what you desire, Galaxia.'' said Luna. ''When you awaken there will be two fillies and a colt within your bedroom, keep them secret but let them be your friends. And one thing else, the colt is my son, the lunar prince and he's destined to be the lunar king when he grows up, and thus he's forced into a lot so don't believe your alone in this case.
Galaxia paled in shock. ''There will be a prince in my bedroom!?... And two fillies?''
''Yes, now you must go. The dream world is collapsing.'' And it was true, the dream's starry fields were vanishing into the white vortex. ''Goodbye, my little filly.''
