Previous Chapter[6 months later]
Tenpony Tower was busy as usual. Ponies going about their business on the regular bases. Some traders, some food marketers, some even selling illegal things. A pregnant tan pony walks through the crowd of ponies with a bag of groceries levitating within her magic. Ignoring any other pony, she walked fast out of the crowd and quickly became alone as she walk more slowly down a hallway with apartment doors to each side. Colony opens the door slowly to see her son Dutton Mash doing homework from school. She smiles as she closes the door. Dutton looks up and quickly walks over to her and hugs her leg. Colony puts her leg on top of Dutton's head. She then starts putting groceries away in the rusty old refrigerator. She then feels a tug at her tail as she turns to see Dutton poking at her belly with his hoof. She giggles slightly.
"How much longer till she arrives?" he asks.
Colony gives Dutton a playful in her voice.
"She wont come out if you keep asking."
With that, Dutton pretended to zip his lip and throw away the zipper. Colony laughs and returns to the groceries. Dutton then remembers something he was supposed to give her. He scurries into his room and grabs a small bag from under his bed. He quickly runs out and plants his flank next to his mom. She looks down at him with a raised eye brow, seeing the mysterious bag in his mouth.
"What do you have there Dutt?" she asks her son.
Dutton then pulls a picture frame from the bag and shows it to his mom. Colony felt tears beginning to swarm her eyes as she sees what it is. Its a group photo of them with Sharpshooter. Colony picked up picture and happily sobbed at it. She looks down at her son. Dutton was giving a sly smile. Colony brings him in for a tight hug, nearly choking him. She pulls away slightly so that she looks at him in the eyes.
"How did you-?"
"I saved it in my room from when Sharpshooter was still around. I thought I would keep it for myself, but after he died, I thought both of us could have it."
Colony kisses her son's head and wipes the tears from her eyes. She lowers her son to the ground and ruffles his mane. She then puts the picture onto the kitchen counter. Another hug this time. Colony looks back at Dutton and then at her belly.
"Do you think ponies will remember him mom?" he asks.
Colony smiles at her son and looks back at the picture. She stares at the picture for a few moments. The memories that screamed from that picture were priceless. How she wished Sharpshooter was there right now. She wished their could've been a different solution to his sacrifice, but Sharpshooter was a pony with a big heart and wouldn't let any of his friends or family get in harms way until he did. Many tales were made about Sharpshooter after his death. Most notable his title as 'The Ranger.' That was the title that made ponies remember. How it made for a tale about a brave soldier who stared death in the face and died like a hero. A hero, that no one would forget.
"Yes Dutton...ponies will remember."
