Chapter 3: Dreams

Sharpshooter wasn't used to being in a town. In fact, he wasn't even born in one. PonyVille was similar to any other destroyed town in the area. Sharpshooter walked until he was in front of what seemed like a town hall. The building was purple and white with fancy windows and decorations. The door was boarded up and windows were covered in bullet holes.

"Huh...pretty looking for a town hall."

Sharpshooter then proceeded further into town. As he walked down an empty street, he saw nothing but heavily destroyed buildings and craters where grenades blew up. What was odd though, their were no bodies or ponies anywhere. The entire town was abandoned. More empty than Stable 9.  Sharpshooter was used to huge insects that were infected with radiation being with him. He would have expected at least that. Nothing however. Sharpshooter liked this, it was good to have some peace and quiet for once. It was getting dark and Sharpshooter needed a place to sleep. He picked what looked like a two storied bakery shop. The place was trashed of course and no food was inside. Sharpshooter's stomach growled. He looked around in his bag, trying to find something to eat. He didn't mind what size it was and how it tasted, at least it would be food. Sharpshooter thankfully upstairs found a bed that was, somewhat intact. The bed looked dirty with mud and smelled like a skunk's toilet. However, Sharpshooter has smelled worse. He leaned back himself on the bed and slowly closed his eyes. Sharpshooter dreamt about his years in Stable 9 and about his family.

Sharpshooter remembered what his mother said the day he was born. Sharpshooter's mother was a unicorn. He remembers looking into her beautiful cobalt eyes that sparkled like stars and her charcoal mane. He remembers her gold fur coat as well. However, due to being exposed by radiation, green patches have been implanted on her body.

"You're a very special one indeed little one. Your are the ninth filly to be born in this place. I think we'll call you nine for now. How does that sound?"

Baby Sharpshooter laughed. Sharpshooter's father was an earth pony who was very buff and was more of the leader of Stable 9. His father had a white coat with a red and blue flowed back mane. His eyes were maroon red. He also had black hooves. His father approached his mother and him.

"Well Raidy, we did it. A son, a healthy baby boy!"

His father hugged Raidy and kissed her with passion. Then called to Longshot, Sharpshooter's brother. Longshot was a little bit older then his baby brother. Longshot was born however with a birth defect. Due to his mother having a severe case of radiation poisoning and only excessive amounts of Rad-X keeping her alive. Longshot was born a unicorn. He had forest green, with patches of green just like his mother. His body was blood red with no mane. If Longshot did have a mane however, it would have been like his dad's. Longshot took a look at his new baby brother. He tickled his nose with his hoof causing Sharpshooter to sneeze.

"He's adorable."

"What's his name?" Longshot asked. Raidy laughed. "His name is nine" she said. Longshot didn't really like the name it didn't sound right to him. He then remembered a name he made for the baby before he was born.

"Why not Sharpshooter?" he said, rubbing him on the head. Both parents looked at each other. The name did make sense since their other son was named Longshot. So it was only fair that the second would be named Sharpshooter. The decision was made.

"We'll call him Sharp "nine" shooter then!" their father exclaimed.

Sharpshooter awoke with the sun in his face from a huge hole in the roof of the bakery shop. He sat up in the rusty bed and smiled. He wiped tears away from his eyes after remembering the day he was born and getting to see his family for the first time. Sharpshooter missed his family and he wished they were still alive. Sharpshooter heard a gun shot from the street. He walked over to see ponies dressed in what looked like gladiator armor. He ducked behind a destroyed wall and peeked over.

"Search the town, you find anypony, kill them."

Sharpshooter took out the pistol he had in his bag and clocked it using his teeth. He thought to himself.

-This is gonna be fun!-
