//-------------------------------------------------------// A Bird and Its Prey -by Icu Zelith- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Shattered Pieces //-------------------------------------------------------// Shattered Pieces All they ever did, was make you in to something weak. How could they simply neglect you? Why do they treat you like dirt? How long can they keep it up? Most importantly, how long can you keep it up? Before you became trapped in this unforgiving world, you were an ordinary guy, with an ordinary life. But unfortunately, mayhem had touched the sky. You soon got lodged in a world with ponies and colourful surroundings. Unexpectantly, you were forcibly morphed into one of them against your own will. A pegasus, which you really didn't mind. At first, you enjoyed it a bit. Everypony (they preferred the term everypony as opposed to everyone) was friendly, and it seems everything is tranquil. Foolishly, it takes more than meets the eye. Every day, people seemed to be getting more distant to you. Social wise. Your friends were now acquaintances, and your acquaintances were now clearly strangers. Overtime, newer faces showed up, and caused you a large amount of adversity. It seems they had an overpowering amount of hatred against you. It was very strange, since you did your absolute best to do nothing wrong. Nopony could have seen it coming. The other ponies were up to something. Their glares would debilitate you, their glances would dig through mind. Making become something you'd never guessed you'd be; a lonely outcast. Their looks and actions convinced you, that you were nothing more than a straw of hay, to them.  Causing you to not interact with anypony from Ponyville, in fear that they would worsen the matter. With most nights hardly being sleep, you realize you had nothing to work for. Nothing to look forward to. Nopony to see. Your closes friends strangely gone from your life. Do they even acknowledge your existence? Rainbow Dash, was a close friend. Though she was a bit rebellious and a slight troublemaker, you found a way to adapt to her some-what mischievous plans and pranks. You grew attached to her, you may even had special feelings for her. But your current state is not suitable for thinking of these situations. So all you really did as of now, is blend into the shadows. Your journey will begin, and so will your attempt for rehabilitation in the 'friendly' town of Ponyville. ... But first, your plan. You thought of the most cleverest ways to regain your normal life back. All the recent ones didn't work well enough. With every attempt, you wonder whether or not it is possible to regain your life before it was shattered into a thousand pieces. Incessantly, you soon ended up with the same results: dissatisfaction. Nothing you do ever seems to work. Everything either runs from you or falls apart. Now you feel entirely forgotten. You cannot sleep at night with this in mind. Your lack of sleep gave you more of an intimidating appearance. ... You resent to something more menacing. Within a few month's time, you slowly changed. Your heart was now stone, your eyes filled with and flames. You didn't want to, but anger started to build even further. And that anger, has overgrown and will now take it's toll. "Heh... Friendship..." You madly whisper. Your eye twitches as you sit in solitary at the corner of a small, dark cave. Mesmerizing about the time you and Rainbow Dash would have races. When you recall those memories, you would also see the ponies that broke you down. Any more adjournment will eventually harm not only you, but others too. "They think they can tell ME what to do?!?" Your voice alters in pitch as you continue "They first break me down, then they kick while I'm prone? Have they not any empathy?!" Your eyes reflected no light, and your pupils were pin-pointed. Your face wore a creepy exaggerated smile. You glance into the sunlight outside, into the small town across the trees; into the place you would call home. You stand up and slowly inch your way to the entrance of the cave. Your mood instantly changes into remorse and hatred as you think about the life you used to have, and the 'pathetic' attempts you had taken. Depression starts to take over, your throat starts to feel blocked and your eyes started to produce tears. 'I want my life back... If not today, one of these days.' "Why did you have to take my life from me?" You ask to no one. Your mood swing kicks in again. It turns back to anger and frustration. "Everypony will see me rise... Everypony will. One of these days." You walk into the sunlight. The group of trees that surrounded the cave entrance provided a nice cover to hide the cave. You walk in between them and see the buildings around the town that lays past the small forest. Soon enough, the buildings grow taller, and ponies start to come in to view. That's when you halt. Instead of proceeding, you start to observe them. On the corner of your eye, you spot a pony. Specifically, a cyan pegasus with a flowing rainbow mane. Rainbow Dash. She was clearing the clouds out of the skies, and doing it in a swiftly manner. You look back at ground level and see more familiar faces. The faces that changed who you were. Your adittude changed once again. Worry had filled you upup. Seeing their face would bring flashbacks, flashbacks you abhor. You reluctantly walk backwards not paying attention to what's behind you. To your surprise, you bump into something. Not a tree, but a timberwolf. Your fear was drained, and you regained calmness as you stare into the growling timberwolf's glare. With relative ease, you evade the timberwolf's attempt to slash at you. You fly behind it and face away from it. The timberwolf became confused and continued to try to attack you. You simply lift your hind legs, and buck it in Its face. The timberwolf's face chipped into pieces, and soon fell over. You acknowledge your work, then look back towards the town. The ponies you had seen earlier were gone. The daylight was almost leaving as well. You look at the timberwolf again, then fly off. You quickly made it back to your temporary home; a tree house upon the lonely trees that stand in the forest. For a tree house, it was roomy, you even had a matress to sleep on. "I hope I can sleep tonight." You beg as you climb on to the matress. "Maybe I can find myself again." 'One day...' The night was standing strong, taking the skies that daytime had left. But you lay unchanged. You still aren't able to sleep. You wrap your mind around your life. Obsessed with the things you used to have, and the things you would've had. 'I got to do something about this, I don't want to love like this forever.' You start taking into consideration your other plans. Through the night, you contemplate them with yourself. The time quickly passes, and morning follows up. It's hard to believe that you stayed up all night instead of catching sleep. You lay, staring into nothingness. "Once again, I didn't sleep at all." You say to no one in particular. 'I didn't get any sleep last night...' 'But I do have a plan...' A mischievous smile is smeared across your face. "Today, is the day..."
