I lift up my bed. Where is that stupid comic? I could of sworn I left it here earlier. I look throughout Twilight's room but still no comic.
"Twilight!" I yell out.
"What?" Replied Twilight.
"Where are my comics?"
"I put them up, a dragon you're age should not be reading stuff like that."
"But I'm almost done with them. I can't just stop in the middle of a story!"
"I don't care, find something else to read."
I stomp back to my bed, deciding that a nap would take away my anger when a familiar feeling tingles in my chest. With a burst of fire, a scroll appears in front of me and falls to the floor. I pick it up and come face to face with the Royal seal.
I know Twilight told me to find something else to read, so I open it up, and start from the top.
"Dear Princess Twilight, We write to you regarding another magical mirror. We have confirmed that it does not lead to the world Sunset Shimmer currently resides. We request that you, and the other Elements should come to the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters as soon as possible. Signed, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna.
"Twilight!"
We enter the worn down castle and make our way to the old throne room.
"Another mirror," Asked Applejack. "You sure Twi?"
"Yes, that's what the princesses told me."
"What did they say?" Asked Rarity.
"Just to come to their old castle."
"Why the old castle? Couldn't they just move the mirror to Canterlot?" Asked Fluttershy.
"Must be really big or dangerous."
"Or both."
We continue walking until we reach a set of large, broken, wooden doors. I put them open, and meet the princess of the sun.
"We came as soon as we could."
Celestia nodded. "Let's not waste time, follow me."
We follow Celestia down into the dungeons, the walls green with moss. We enter a small room, laden with various sizes of mirrors. In the center was a tall, majestic mirror, and unlike the one at Canterlot, was shimmering with hues of red.
"Who could possibly need this many mirrors?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
Ignoring the random comment, I walked up to the smooth surface of the glass.
"Have you found out where it leads?"
"No," answered Luna. "All we know is that it does not lead to the same world as the last."
"And you want us to check it out." Asked Rarity.
"Yes, since Twilight had no problem with the other world, we thought she should go."
"Why aren't one of you going?" Challenged Rainbow.
"Do you really want our enemys to find out that one of the princesses left Equestria, possibly for a long time? Leaving Equestria open to attack."
"Oh," Rainbow, flattened her ears and backed up a few paces.
"When do you want me to go?"
"Right now, if possible." I put a hoof up to the mirror and prepared myself to jump in when a voice cries out behind me.
"Wait, if it is a different world from last time," asked Pinkie Pie, who leapt down to the floor like a puppy that wants to play. "Does that mean we can come?" A chorus of agreements came from the rest of my closest friends.
"I suppose it's okay," said Celestia. "But just be careful, we have no idea what this world contains."
My friends step up to me and look at me, awaiting my command.
"Alright," I said. "Let's go!" With that, we step into the portal. At once, a feeling like being pressed on from all directions surrounds me. I bear through it easily, having gone through the same feeling 4 times already. Suddenly, it feels as if all the air from my lungs is pushed out. I look over my friends, frantically flailing around, obviously going through the same feeling. After what feels like forever, a light shines upon us, signaling the end of the journey between worlds.
We are dropped from a quiet tunnel, into an ear splitting thunder of cracks and whistles.

Trust in me for this. I'm doing a lot of research in my free time (which is stretched thinly as it is) to get this story just right. Feedback is always helpful.

Don't mind if it's a bit fast paced. After all, isn't that what war is supposed to be?
Sand everywhere
I never complained so much in my life. Even when i was forced to take part in a war I didn't want to get involved in, i complained very little. But when you get sand in your socks, boots, and certain areas, it wears down even the best of men.
"Are we almost there?" I groaned.
"It's just beyond this canyon," answered the Sergeant. "Now quit your bitching!"
Forced to keep quiet, I march with the rest of my squad. We pass an old run down shack, creaking with the wind. I keep my eye on it until it passes from view. Now my attention is focused on the banks of the canyon walls, stacked with improvised houses. The feeling on the back of my neck is unnerving, almost like some Kraut is looking down the scope of his rifle at my head. However, we press on. We come to our objective, a small grouping of tents in front of a stone town.
We march right up into the cluster, a feeling of security washes over us. I spot a lone man, running up to us.
"Your from the 9th infantry right."
Sarge points to his left shoulder. "Third."
"Oh, guess you can relax for a while. I'll come back with your orders soon." He nods briefly before running off somewhere else. I pick a spot among the clutter of canvas and crates, and set down my gear. My squadmate, Curtis, a tall white man with a square jaw and wiry hair, sits down next to me.
"So how's the war treating you?"
I shake my head. "Like a bitch, never had a full night's sleep in while."
"I hear ya, just been the back of a truck for me since the landing."
"Have you seen any Germans lately?"
"No, and you'd think they would be all on us, trying to force us back onto the water."
I nod my head. Thinking back to the landing, I remember the faces of the Germans we killed. They looked so much like us, scared, helpless, and young. So very young. An explosion and a blaring alarm shake me from my thoughts.
"Krauts! To the east!" I instantly grab my gear and follow the soldiers to a fortification facing the advancing Germans. I put my M1 on the sandbags and look out over them. They look so determined, don't they know they are going up against a fortified town full of American soldiers? Another explosion shakes the ground. Then, a large, tan object comes into view.
"Panzer!" Oh fuck.
"Open fire!" I pull the trigger, sending a .30-06 round through a German's neck. He falls down and I continue firing. A mass of Krauts fall down, they are running now. I spot a soldier holding a long tube. I aim for him and pull, downing him. I fire once more into the crowd.
Ping
I reload my rifle with a new 8 round clip. Why can't they put more ammo into this thing? I continue firing when the panzer launches a shell our way, it lands 14 feet away from me, but unfortunately it hits the sandbag wall, launching Americans into the air. Suddenly I feel a hand on my back and I look to find the Sarge holding a canvas bag. He thrusts it into my arms.
"Flank the enemy and take out that damned panzer!"
I run through the streets, smoking from the panzer's earlier shots. I find Curtis near the ammo dump, loading his B.A.R.
"Come with me," I said. "I'm going to take out that tank."
He nods and follows. We run throughout a small trench to the south of town. It turns east and I see the back end of the panzer, its exhaust smoking. I cautiously approach it, readying the satchel charge. Now I'm right up next to it. Almost overwhelmed by the size of it, I plant the charge right next to the turret ring.
"Amerikanische! Bring ihn um!"
I run, throwing up sand. The air cracks around me, but I continue to run. I spot multiple pathways ahead of me. I run for a random one, hoping it will lead to a safe area. The pop of guns from above makes me look up. A Me-109 is firing its guns, but nowhere near me. But the bullets flying past me pursuade me to keep going. I see Curtis ahead, beckoning for me to come to him. Suddenly he stops and yells at me to take cover. I look behind me and find the turret of the panzer is pointed right at me. Before I can do anything about it, it fires.
Suddenly I have this feeling like I'm flying, sand and rock is floating in the air beside me. I want this to continue but I am tilting to the side. Eyes wide with fear, now understanding what happened, I land hard on the desert floor. A green object lands next to me, and I feel a thud on my head. I look into the trench I was previously in and spot a few German soldiers. 2 of them walk up to me, and start talking in English, of all languages.
"Is he dead?"
"Doesn't matter, he will be soon." One of them kicks me in the side, sending a sharp jab of pain throughout my entire body. My vision starts to fade to black, urging me to go to sleep. Last thing I hear before I black out, is Curtis's scream, and a volley of rifle fire.
