//-------------------------------------------------------// The Equestrian Fairytale: Preface and Act 1 -by SketchpadSchlemmel- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 1: To Feel Alive is Something Unseen in the Eyes of a Pony Unaware of Her Demise //-------------------------------------------------------// 1: To Feel Alive is Something Unseen in the Eyes of a Pony Unaware of Her Demise My story starts in a hospital. The hospital in Ponyville, to be precise. I ended up here due to becoming incapacitated during a fight with Sunset Shimmer, who was also here. I decided to leave as soon I felt ready enough to walk around. I decided to look for my friends, see what they were up to, since they weren't at the hospital. I needed their company, especially after what happened between myself and Sunset. Unfortunately, according to Sweetie Belle, they weren't in town. "Uh...Twilight," Sweetie said softly, eyeing me from behind the door of the Carousel Boutique, her expression that of concern and confusion, "you know my sister and her friends aren't in Ponyville, right?" "Ah, crap," I responded, "Where would they be then, Sweetie?" "Canterlot." Canterlot. That's where I was before I entered the hospital. I was taking a vacation there with my friends, and I nearly forgot about this. That would also explain why weren't at the hospital, because they didn't know I was there. I thanked Sweetie and left to Canterlot, hoping to see my friends there. They were standing around the castle, seeming to have been looking all over for me all this time.  Celestia probably told them I was back at Ponyville, and they were heading there when I appeared. I approached them and said, "Hey!" The expression on my face was a cheery one, one that I would quickly lose soon. As I approached them, the sky...turned a deep crimson. The sun and the moon were merging into one another, without the interference of the princesses. And after this happened, two beasts appeared in front of me, separating me from my friends. The beasts looked of ponies, except where their face would be, is simply a dark void with a small core in the middle of the void. Their coat was of a light blue, and their speech patterns seemed to only consist of screeches. They rushed toward me in a blind fury, clawing at me with their hooves and seeming to gnaw at me with their voided faces. I shouted to my friends to leave to safety before I fought back. I slashed at the shoulder of the one to my left, using a blade of magic to do so. It's screech of pain was horrifying, and in fact almost deafening, but it soon dropped to the ground. As I defeated the being, the other one bites into my right shoulder, causing me to scream in horrific pain. I could see Pinkie look over as I did, which caused me to shout, "PINKIE! LEAVE! I-I can handle this, just get to safety NOW!" She oddly complied with a simple nod, with tears forming in her eyes. After she left, I smashed the still-living being with the hoof on the foreleg he bit into, bashing him off of me and forcing him to roll to his hooves. I was bleeding. I was bleeding incredibly, and the being was already back on his hooves, trotting slowly toward me as it let out a low, rumbling growl. It pounced at it and screeched, attempting to knock me off my guard to bite at my neck, but I was able to overcome this, and pierced his skull with my magic blade. It's blood covered down to the base, but it was obviously as dead as his ally. I removed the sword from his skull and teleported it away before running off to the castle to get to the bottom of things. //-------------------------------------------------------// 2: These are the Souls, Who Will Aid You to Their Dying Breath //-------------------------------------------------------// 2: These are the Souls, Who Will Aid You to Their Dying Breath I soon made it to the castle. I ran around, trying to look for Celestia, or Luna, or anypony who'd tell me what is going on. As my searched, I'd soon enter a room. Celestia was here, but...so was another five ponies. "Celestia!" I exclaimed. I was exhausted, I was in pain. She turned to me and nodded, the look on her face showing me the weight of the situation. "Twilight," she said, before using her magic to heal my shoulder. "I feel a strong magical presence, corrupting Equestria as we speak." she said, wanting to get to the point. "What am I going to do about it?" I asked, looking up at her with worry in my eyes. "You're going to stop it," she said, before her guard bring in a suit of armour known as the Harmonizer. The armour, made up of the parts of the Elements of Harmony and run by crystals, was somewhat mechanical. It conformed to my body when I slip it on, it checks my vitals...it does things you'd see in some science fiction novel. Anyway, after I slipped it on, she looked to the other five ponies in the room, and beckoned them to step forth. The first, was an earthpony. His mane and tail were a dark brown, and his coat was a dark grey. He looked young. His eyes...were completely dilated, so I couldn't tell what eye color he had. His clothing consisted of a simple t-shirt with "DJ Pon-3" sprawled on it, a blue jacket with an odd design on it, although if he zipped it up, it might look like some sort of heart. He also had a sort of carrying case on him, with a ton of pencils and a large book inside. "Hello," he said, giving a nod before trotting over. "My name's Sketchpad." I nodded and shook his hoof before the next pony came over. The next pony was a unicorn. Her mane and tail looked oddly similar to Lyra's, but the colors were way off. Whilst Lyra had a minty sort of coloration in the mane, this pony had a bright green and a darker green making up stripes on either side of the mane. Her coat was an off-blue, and her eyes were a bright purple. She seemed to have a pouch on her, with an odd weapon carried inside. "My name is Stohner," she said. "I worked at the Royal Construction Crew before I was brought here." That last line threw me off. I was aware of the Construction Crew, as they construct things...mainly in Canterlot. But I don't remember seeing Stohner as one of them. Before I could ask, the next pony came up. This one was another earthpony. He was a bit gruff, and he had a stern look to him. His eyes were blue, and his mane, tail and coat were different shades of brown. His clothing consisted of a leather jacket with a white t-shirt underneath. Unlike the others, he didn't seem to have anything on him besides a case of cigarettes and a lighter. "Are you going to introduce yourself?" I asked him. "I'd rather not, but if I must.." he said, before sighing softly. "The name is Klausen. Joen Klausen." I nodded to him and the next pony stepped forth. This one was a pegasus. His coat was a lighter grey than Sketchpad's, and his mane and tail were of a black coloration. His eyes were a reddish color, and over his eyes were a pair of glasses. His clothing consisted of a jacket. He carried around a guitar case. He smiled, looking at me, before chuckling out, "Name's Trigger." I nodded and the last pony was revealed. I just couldn't believe what I saw. The pony was an alicorn, and a male at that. His coat consisted of a green hue, and his mane, tail and eyes were blue. His clothing consisted of a red vest. Like Joen, he didn't have much on him. How he introduced himself was even more bizarre... "You should know me, Twilight! It's me, Lightning Chaser! Luna's husband." "I call bullshit on that," Stohner suddenly said. The green stallion eyed him and growled. "I agree with Stohner," I said to him. "I might not remember Stohner being a part of the Royal Construction Crew, but I definately don't remember Luna being married to anypony..." "I see.." he said, looking over at me before trotting up to the others. Celestia nodded and soon left, leaving us six to get along. //-------------------------------------------------------// Preface: The Day Time Stood Still was The Day I Soon Will Die //-------------------------------------------------------// Preface: The Day Time Stood Still was The Day I Soon Will Die Life: A tangible substance we take for granted. We fear the anti-thesis of life, which is death. However, we constantly take the lives of others. Yet in the same time, we're afraid of losing our own lives to the very same beings we kill without a second thought. My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am the princess of magic. And I should be dead right now. I am laying here, in the frozen tundra to the north of the Crystal Kingdom. I am bloodied, beaten. I should've died from what I suffered, but instead I shall die from hypothermia. My minutes are numbered, and my bones are broken. All I can do is stare into the sky and contemplate the feeling of death.. But before I pass on, I must share my story. I must share what has happened to Equestria, in the hopes that somepony will hear this, and someday, long after the ponies of this era are long dead, rebel against the tyrant. The tyrant known as Tirek. I also wish to not feel guilt. Guilt that I have failed everypony. That I failed my new allies, the ponies I care for...my friends..., my family, the princesses...all the ponies who had to die before this point... The weight of this feeling lies upon my shoulders like a heavy burden, and I wish to relieve myself of the burden of guilt before I pass on into a better world. I wish to call this story the Equestrian Fairytail, because I know it'll become nothing more than a fable in a thousand years. A fable told to others to keep their spirits up, because I know I am going to exaggerate my death as a sacrifice just for that reason alone. My only wish at this point is to hope somepony, anypony could hear these words, and someday start a rebellion. A rebellion to topple whatever regime Tirek plans for it. A rebellion against the chaos. Against the madness, and suffering and death. My one regret is that I will never get the chance to say goodbye to my best friends. Celestia have pity on me this day.
