//-------------------------------------------------------// The Queen of the Sun -by Kinggalaxian- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Second Princess of the Sun //-------------------------------------------------------// The Second Princess of the Sun      Chryssi woke up with the sound of the birds chirping outside. She yawned as her stretched having her golden mane run down her front hooves in front of her face. She didn't like waking up early but she had to since it was her job, that and Celestia would always give her a hard time is she never woke up on the right times. Chryssi groaned loudly as she looked up at the clock, tilting her head and moving her mane out of her face. "Ugh, 7 o'clock....why seven..."      She groaned as she moved out of bed. Her joints popping as she stretched her hind legs. Her mane sliding down her white coat as she walked to the bathroom. Chryssi took out her toothbrush and brushed her teeth getting ready for the day. "well, at least I don't have the raise the sun, so look on the bright side. "      Chryssi giggled at her little pun as she spat into the sink and placed the toothbrush back into the cabinet.  Chryssi walked out of her bathroom as she looked at her bookshelf with a sigh look on her faith. "I can't believe it, I've only been princess for 17 years and I've already read all my books. Although I guess they aren't that long are they? "      Her ears twitch as a  familiar voice of Celestia calls her name. "chryssi! I'm back from raising the sun! Are you going to come down and see your favorite sister!"      Chryssi hopped with joy as she squealed and ran down the stairs into the hooves of her sister. Celestia's mane was a bright yellow color that matched her bright eyes. Celestia smiled with glee as she hugged her sister. "Oh Chryssi it's been a while hasn't it? " "A while, but you were only gone for the early day. It wasn't that long."      Celestia smiles lightly as she looks down. "Yes but you should know that even in a few hours anything can happen. " Chryssi gives a short nod as she looked up at her sister. "Yes, I guess your right but I do have one question..."      Chryssi bit her lip as she averted her eyes from Celestia's gaze. "Do...do we really need a new sister. I know it's wrong of me to say but I heard that we would be getting....a new princess"      Celestia frowns as she sits down looking at Chryssi. "Yes but you knew that this would happen. We may be living alone together but having a new princess will be healthy for you to learn how to treat foals and raise them. "That's  the thing though! "      Chryssi brings her hoof down in anger almost coming to a raging fit. "I don't want to raise or help raise a foal. They are too much time to handle and to messy to clean up after. Plus they ruin everything and I won't the favorite anymore!"      Celestia at first taken back by her sisters outburst soon grows angry and frustrated. "You will not be substituted for a new foal for one, and two you are almost a grown mare and the next heir for the sun so start acting like it."      She was not angry or yelling but the tension was their lingering in the air. Chryssi snorts as she looks away clearly frustrated by the lecture she was given. Sure she was older now and ready to be the new princess of the sun although she was not ready for the responsibilities. Everypony thinks that it's a simple and easy job raising the sun every morning but it's not. As with that you have paperwork that's given to you that you have to fill out, it's just not worth the hassle but it does give you the title of princess and that's a special title after all. "Fine she will be welcome in this new castle and humble home of the sun sisters."      She said the sentence as the words flew through her teeth in an angry manner. Celestia pats chryssi's head smiling ignoring her sisters angry sarcastic comment. "Why don't you go outside ok? You know, have the sun soak in your coat and take a little breather ok?" The stubborn sister yanks her head from Celestia's hoof shaking her mane back to place. "Fine, I'll go outside and see what I can do."      Soon she smiled as she thought of a certain somepony that she could possibly meet. It wasn't much, just some stallion unicorn that walks near the castle walls once in a while. Chryssi isn't allowed outside the walls because of the last time she left. If wasn't much but there was a lot of destruction involving donuts and cupcakes with a whole bunch of frosting in the water fountain. After that little incident she was grounded from the outside world for a few weeks. Still didn't stop her from seeing storm, he was the perfect stallion in her mind. Tall, hansom, smart and even really useful when it came to magic spells. She couldn't believe all the times when she needed help with something and he would fix the problem with a spell. It could be as simple as levitating some sort of object to her or as complex as changing a bird to an orange and back again for amusement.  Chryssi wasn't much of a magic user though. She would levitate stuff from time to time or even teleport once in a while but she never liked using it. She never knew why but just learned to accept the fact that she never used magic. However Chrissy did know that to raise the sun she would have to start practicing a bit more. Her fantasy soon ended by the sound of Celestia. " oh...sister, when your out there please make sure not to talk to that...one pony ok?"      Chryssi gave a low growl which surprised Celestia and made her turn towards Chryssi with a whirlwind fashion. "I'll seem him if I want to, he's my friend and friends always stick together. " Celestia gritted her teeth at her but soon took a hefty breath and spoke with a mature calm nature. "Yes, Chryssi...your right that friends stick together but you know the rules"      Chryssi nodded her head as the both recited the ancient ritual of the sun goddesses. "Those who friends are below us are not friends at all."      She absolutely hated that rule, it was a dumb law and every princess knew it. What kind of law was it to restrict yourself from your subjects in the first place. Although that wasn't the number one thought that made Chryssi hate that rule since she wanted to see storm again for different reasons. Celestia nodded in agreement to the rule as she rushed her little sister outside. "Yes, now be a good little one and play with the animals. They need caring and kindness to grow just as much as we do." "Fine, ok just let me be then."      Chryssi broke out of her sisters grasp and walked out of the castle and into the garden. She stepped outside as her hooves felt soft dirt, her mane being hit by celestia's sun. Chryssi didn't care about most animals. Sure she liked the rabbits and the ducks and the chickens but she only truly loved one animal. An insect well known as the butterfly. She believed that the butterfly was the most magnificent of all the animals. The way it turned from a small worm wrapping itself into a cacoon to turn into a butterfly. It made her eyes glowed in wonder as she walked over to the green, red, and violet butterflies. She let her hoof out as she heard a voice humming from behind the walls. Chryssi nearly squealed in joy as she opened her wings up and flew over looking around, soon enough she found storm sitting down humming a small song. She watched and listend to the harmony looking over his blue-green striped mane and his light green coat. His cutie mark resembling books as his talent showing his nerdy exterior that Chryssi adored about him. She landed down folding her wings up. "Hey storm! Long time no see huh?"      Storm stopped humming as he opened his eyes and turned seeing chryssi in the sunlight. "Ah, yes welcome Chryssi. I didn't notice you would be out today." "Yes well I would've been out here quicker if it wasn't for my sister. Ugh I love her dearly but she can be so annoying sometimes.      Chryssi sighs as she sits next to storm wrapping her hooves together in a shrug. "It must be hard being a princess all the time, I mean Celestia is all right but the job must be tiring. "Yes it is tiring but it's all part of the job. What isn't a part of it is when she's trying to rule over me all the time like she's my mother. I was so happy to see her today, but no she had to ruin it when I came out to hug her.      Mimicking Celestias voice she retells the lecture to storm. "You must act more mature as princess like as the new heir to the throne, and you must also stay away from that one pony that you talk to."      She freezes at the last part of her sentence as storm gives a small chuckle. "Oh I see, stay away from the mean angry stallion huh? I would think that the princess of the sun wouldn't care about little old me but I guess she does."      Chryssi gives a slow smile as she nods her head. "Yeah I guess...oh!"      She hops up as she grabs storms hoof. "I was going to show you the butterfly farm I have!      Storm shocked got up as he looked into his friends eyes. "Yeah you were but isn't that like...In the castle grounds?      Chryssi froze in realization but soon just shook her head and forgot about that fact. "Yeah it is In the castle grounds but nopony is going to find out. There's little guards in the garden so you will be all right.      She pulls him up as she flies him over the walls. Storm looks down trembling as he was not the pony to be brave of hights. Soon his fear ends as Chryssi let's him go on the ground near the butterfly house. Looking around she decides that it's safe so she pulls storm toward the little butterfly farm. She opens the door as butterflies hover around as if hearing the door open lifted their spirits high to fly. Storm looked around in amazement as the butterflies flown around him. "Go on storm, stick your hoof out. Let them come to you it's really amazing that way."      Nodding his head storm extends his arm as a couple of butterflies land on his hoof. Their wings high in the air looking at him with curious eyes. "Wow, I can't believe you have something like this in the castle...or at least near the castle. I don't get much butterflies around ponyville often, and when we do it's just a few pink ones."      Chryssi ponders in thought as she soon claps her hooves. "Oh I know! What if I take a couple butterflies and send them over to ponyville...I've never been there but you know I can help."      Storm gives a small chuckle as he looks over to Chryssi. "Yeah you could but they need a home here with you. Without you they would be lonely."      He was right, Chryssi did spend time with the animals. Even when she didn't feel like seeing anypony she would still talk to the animals. Soon Chryssi looks over at storm with a curious look on her face. "I do have to ask, why do you come over all the way from ponyville to canterlot? I mean that is a pretty far place to walk to." "Yeah your right. It is a far place to walk, but I come here for the sunrises and sunsets. I believe that the sunrise and sunset is what creates all the beauty in the world."      Upon hearing this Chryssi's ears fold down as so her wings. "Do..does that mean you like princess Celestia? I mean...in that way? Do you believe she creates all beauty?"      Storm shakes his head fast at her crazy answer raising his hoof up. "No, no, no you misunderstood me. Yes I believe the sun creates all things beautiful but no I don't like Celestia like that. I care about her being princess only. When I said the sun I meant only the sun not Celestia. To be honest I don't think I could truly love any princess."      Chryssi's heart almost dropped from her chest to her stomach upon hearing those words. "Why not? What's wrong with dating a princess?" "Oh nothing's wrong with it, I just thought it would be awkward dating somepony with a higher class than me. Why do you think I should date a princess?      She sat there pondering those words in her head trying to find the right answer. She stalls for time thinking for the right solution. "Well...you could date a princess. It...could be weird but maybe not I mean you are nice and I'm sure dating a princess would be a good experience for you. Not that you have to date a princess it's just a topic for a conversation really.      Chryssi was sweating bullets now as she tried to pick her words carefully. Unfortunately storm was noticing the changes as he looks at her with worry. "Woah woah, cool down don't get so nervous. Like I said though I don't think dating a princess is something I'd do. Plus I want a mare that loves to learn as much as I do. Of course we've been friends for a while so I'm sure you already knew that."      Chrissy nodded slowly as she felt a blue butterfly land onto her shoulder. "Yeah, I had the feeling. Well I'm sure whoever you find would be a nice match for you."      Storm looked up at the afternoon sky as she got up slowly trying not to disturb the butterflies. "Well, it looks like I'll be going now. I'll see you tomorrow maybe?"      He looked over smiling at Chryssi holding out his hoof to help her up. She grasped his hoof slowly starting to stand up while looking up at the sky. "Yeah, I'll see you again tomorrow same time probably."      Storm smiled as he said his goodbyes to the princess teleporting away. Chryssi stood there hoof still in the air as if his hoof still held it by force. She let out a small breath of a sigh as she wondered to herself. "Not dating a princess.....eh I guess it was never meant to be."      She just shook the thought away trying to deny her feelings for the stallion.  She walked out of the butterfly house and closed the doors. She looked up into the sky as she noticed something a little peculiar, a tree standing over her. That wasn't what caught her eye though, what cought her eye was the fact it seemed to made out of candy. She could see the sugar crystals sparkling in the sun. "That's odd, there's no such thing as a candy tree. Especially out in the garden."      Soon the idea hit her, she was about to be visited by a friend of her and her sister. An old friend they met in the mountains not too long ago. "Ah discord, long time no see."      The wind blew as the old voice boomed above her. Of course sitting on the cloud above her was embodiment of choas that everypony knew the name of as discord.
