The Routine
The shrill ringing of the school bell at Crystal High School snapped Sonata Dusk out of her semi-stupor. She had been daydreaming through math class. She dreamed that the vocal group formed by Sonata and her friends Adagio and Aria had beaten Twilight Sparkle (or was their leader Sunset Shimmer?) and The Rainbooms. It was a good dream. Sonata wished that was how it happened, but it didn't go like that. Her friends seemed to have disappeared. On top of that, Sonata hadn't made any new friends. At least she was the school mascot and Coach Shining Armor's favorite student. She didn't get that kind of appreciation from Coach Armor's wife, Principal Cadence. Principal Cadence's aunt was Principal Celestia from Canterlot High, so she heard all about what happened. Sonata left the school building in the middle of a mass of crazed teenagers. While they walked to their cars, Sonata walked to her bike. She strapped on her helmet and rode it downtown.
