It's a beautiful night in Canterlot City. On a top of the hill in the outskirsts of the city there stood a blue haired tenneger watching the amazing skyline of the city,
“Good holy sauce this city it's exatly as I thought.” he said in excitement.
He has shoulder length blue hair with short bangs and matching dark blue eyes, he is wearing a white denim jacket with a big greek cross symbol on the back, under the jacket there a raglan black and white long sleeve shirt, and finally normal blue jeans with blue and white tennis shoes.
“Well it's time to move on.” he said as he continued walking.
Let me explain who is him. Matt Lowell is a sixteen year old tenneger who originally hails from Freshwind Town, a modest city not too far away from Canterlot. He believes what is right and what is wrong. But that's not all of him, there is a very crazy secret about him and nobody knows it but his Family.
Matt continued walking as the moonlight shines upon the road.
Matt finally arrived at the city and the street lights whre shining beautifully in every lane of the city.
“Let's see.“ Matt said as he pulled out a paper from his backpack containing the direction of his house.
“All right. It's not too far.“ Then a sly smirk appeared on his face. 'Maybe I should explore the city.' He thought with exitement.
The blue haired teenager was amazed by the architecture of the city, 'Dang those buildings are off the hook, much better than Freshwind.' Matt thought to himself until he bumped into another person or rather a rainbow haired teenage girl making her fall over.
“Ow!“ The girl groaned as she was getting up.
“Oh man! I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going.“ Matt apologized.
“Wait, who are you?“ she demanded eyeing suspiciously at him.
Matt flinched when he saw her. That rainbow hair, her shining magenta eyes and that beautiful face full of... Uh-oh looks like our friend has found already a crush.
“I, uh, don't known how to explain...“ Matt snapped back to reality as the rainbow haired girl watched in confusion, “Oh sorry. Where are my manners. My name is Matt, Matt Lowell.“
“Huh? Let me guess you are not from here, right?“ The rainbow haired girl asked.
“Yeah, you know It is rude to ask questions before introducing yourself.“ Matt gently said with a timid smile.
A smirk formed in the girl's face. “I'm Rainbow Dash.“ But then Rainbow's smirk was replaced by the same early accusing look.
Matt face also was replaced but this time by a worrying look. Finally he spoke. “There is a problem?“
Rainbow clearly not happy at Matt answer and with a threatening voice she replied. “I'm watching you.“ With those words, she walked off, leaving Matt alone.
Matt was confused. Why she hated him? and Why didn't she trust him? Besides they just met each other.
Nevertheless his smile returned and thought to himself 'Oh well. If I meet her again I can make her fell better so I can earn her trust.'
Afterwards the blue haired teenager was now walking through the park, as he continued his way he passed another tennage girl probably at the same age as him.
She had long straight black hair with purple tips with red eyes, she is wearing a unzipped black leather jacket with a crescent moon symbol in the back and a matching black sports bra, accompanied by a long black skirt adorned with a white belt on the waist black leather fingerless gloves on both hands and type z white boots.
The mysterious girl was sitting with her legs crossed on a bench watching closely the moon reflected in the lake, then she spoke. "The hardest step to change is always the first."
Matt didn't noticed the girl, but she did noticed him as a smile appeared upon her face.
After a little more of exploring the city Matt could finally his house. “This is it.“ He then pushed the door open, inside everything was perfectly clean just like he wanted. All of his furniture had been moved accordingly and the movers didn't broke anything, he was a little thirsty so he went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of cold blueberry beverage, after a long sip of his beverage he let a sigh of satisfaction. Heck he loved beverages, soda, juice, sports drink and the very same natural water.
Despite being young, Matt can (surprisingly) afford on his own, the main reason of his moving from his home in Freshwind Town it's because after graduating from Freshwind Institute he was having trouble in deciding which school to attend until a friend of his told him about Canterlot High
That's when he decided to move out to the city since it's located in Canterlot City.
After finishing his beverage he walked out to the backyard. He sat down on the soft grass to watch the moon and began thinking about the rainbow haired teenage girl Rainbow Dash. 'What in the world was that? I felt my heart strangely warmed and my world stopped for a moment. I must admit my stomach jolted in coils and I'm sure that never happened to me before. But most important. Why she doesn't like me? It was because I bumped into her? No way I apologized yet she is very beautiful,' a blush apeared on his face when he realized something very cute (and take note that I was the first to notice). 'I think I found a crush.'
He let a loud yawn, it was time to go to bed. Without any hesitation about earlier he went to his room and laid down in bed, the bed was very confortable and slowly fall asleep.
Tomorrow is the first day at his new school.
Let's get this Show on the Road
Dawn of A New Day
Already out of his house and without further ado, only his backpack and sights on Canterlot High, he walked down in the peaceful streets of Canterlot City.
Matt noticed how friendly are the habitants of the city. For Matt it is not surprising, the people of Freshwind are also the same. But he remembered that not all the people are friendly. Rainbow Dash was the first one he met in this city.
"Even if we are not the same I hope everything goes well." Matt said as he continued walking.
Matt cheked on his Watch Phone and then spoke, "6:15 a.m. It is still too early morning so there's still time."
Canterlot High.
Just one week have passed since the finals of The Battle of the Bands and everything went back to normal. In case you never knew what happened, with great pleasure I shall explain.
The Battle of the Bands was in truth a evil scheme orchestrated by Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze, better known as The Dazzlings. The goal of this scheme consisted of pitting against each other the entire student body of Canterlot High convincing the students to turn the friendly Musical Showcase into a.... Oh, well, you know The Battle of the Bands and everyone started to hate each other. But do not fear The Dazzlings plan were foiled by a modest (maybe) band who believes in friendship: The Rainbooms. Conformed by Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer
The Dazzlings were not humans but rather mythological creatures from Equestria known as Sirens whose special ability consisted of feed on negative feelings of many living beings to control others using three red magical pendants through their beatiful yet manipulative singing. Ponies were one of them and most recently Humans. But the legendary magician of Equestria, Starswirl the Bearded defeated the Sirens and vanished them from Equestria forever.
Like I said before the students hated each other during the competition but after the crushing defeat of The Dazzlings at The Battle of the Bands, they started to apologize each other also they wanted to apologize for their behavior at The Rainbooms.
Currently, nobody knows the Sirens current whereabouts, many believe that they are currently plannng revenge on The Rainbooms. The answer is veiled in mystery...
At the entrance of the school there were many students ready to start another day in Canterlot High. But no one ever thought that for someone this is only the beggining. A very big beggining...
"Hmm... It looked more better in my mind." A voice said.
The source of the voice came from a tennager but this is one is from the new blood of Canterlot High.
The tennager has a brown skater high hairstyle and believe or not he has complete heterochromia, the left eye is light blue and the right eye is green. He is wearing a gold and black long sleeve double layer t-shirt with a tribal symbol on the back, accompanied with dark blue denim shorts which reaches to the knee and upere wedge black and white sneakers.
"Well it doesn't matter." Then he though with a worrying expression, 'I hope so.' With no more words he entered the privileged building before anyone does.
"Phew! Finally I'm here."
Matt arrived at Canterlot High with full of energy. "Whoa!" Matt watched in awe at the building.
'Ok Matt don't be nervous this always happen in first's day of school.'
"Um... E... Excuse me?" Matt heard a soft voice from behind and turned around.
"Would you like to help the Canterlot Animal Shelter? We have many little friends who need a warmth home. We'd be extremely appreciative of your kindness."
"Erm... I'm not sure about it. Sorry." Matt politely declined.
"Oh... It's okay. Sorry to bother you." The girl quietly responded with watery eyes.
When Matt saw the tears flowing from her on the girl face, his formed into a ashamed look.
"Whoa! Take it easy gal. There's no reason to cry." Matt consoled the girl putting a hand on her shoulder. Until...
"Hey!!" The blue haired teenager heard a familiar voice and it sounded angry, causing him and Fluttershy let a squeak. Brace yourself Matt.
It was Rainbow Dash who in a cold voice demanded, "What... The heck... Are you... Doing... To Fluttershy."
He was nervous. "Um... I can expl-" But he was interrupted.
"Get your hands off my friend!" Rainbow eyes were raging with fiery fire as Fluttershy nervously watched in confusion.
"Um... Rainbow i-if you don't mind," Fluttershy asked timidly. "Do you know him?"
Rainbow turned at her childhood friend, and then at Matt. There was a brief silence between the three.
Now Matt was a little scared. 'Oh man! It's her again. Wait a moment! This is my opportunity to prove her that I'm a good hearted person. This is it! Don't Hesitate.'
He cleared his throat, "Rainbow Dash." Matt said in a gently voice and continued. "We may started with the left foot, but I must say..."
Unfortunately the school bell rang.
"Oh no! I must hurry!" Fluttershy exclaimed in panic. "Sorry Rainbow, sorry New Guy but i'm being late! Good bye!" And with a rush she left the two alone.
Again there was a silence and Rainbow Dash glanced coldly at Matt who had a worrying expression and the rainbow haired girl began to walk towards the school hall.
"This is going to be a long day." He murmured.
Principal's Office.
Matt was sitting in front of the Principal's desk there stood a young woman with a pink, light green and colbat hair. Guess what, is the Principal.
"Well this is quite an interesting academic history Matt Lowell." The Principal who's name is Celestia said while seeing in a document Matt's grades in the Freshwind Institute.
"I shouldn't call it interesting." He replied in a modest manner.
"Well Matt without further ado. Welcome to Canterlot High, this is your schedule." Celestia confirmed Matt official status as she handed the schedule to him.
"Thanks Principal Celestia."
"You're welcome."
Afterwards our blue haired friend left the office and began walking towards the right classroom of the first period, but he bumped (again) into another teenager making him fall.
"Whoa! Sorry dude." Matt apologized.
"No, it was me, I should pay more attention where I walk." the other teenager apologized. But this one like the other is new blood.
The new blood student has a black long layered haircut. He was wearing a denim midnight blue long sleeve jacket jacket with a kanji letter on the back, worn open over a black t-shirt. The lower part consist of grey denim pants, and black and blue high top sneakers. Additionally he wears black fingerless gloves with cyan borders.
"Um I will be late for class, see ya." Matt continued his way towards the classroom leaving the other teenager alone. "Yeah you too," the teenager replied in kind, but the Crusader had already gone.
The school was huge, nevertheless he was able to find the correct classroom. He looked up and saw the room number he was searching.
3302
"Ok, here we go."
Three hours later...
It's lunch time and all the students were in the cafeteria getting their meal. At one table there was a group of girls that had earned a interesting reputation for saving the school. They are The Rainbooms.
The Rainbooms were enjoying their meal, as Rainbow Dash explained what happened today. "So that's how it happened, what do you gals think about him?"
"Um... Rainbow? I think you got him wrong," Fluttershy shyly replied. "He didn't do anything bad to me."
"I agree with Fluttershy, besides his hair must be very stylish and extravagant and it appears to know how to be a gentleman." Rarity Belle, the fashionista, commented.
"Yeah, maybe I just overreacted." Rainbow said. "All this stuff about last week is making me nervous."
"Speaking of the new guy, where's him?" Applejack, the apple farmer, asked.
Pinkie Pie, the party planner, let a panicked gasp. "And I haven't had the chance to greet him! Where is he!?"
Sunset Shimmer, the former unicorn, acknowledged Pinkie and Applejack words. "Well, now that you mention it, he's not here."
Rarity began to look into the distance of the cafeteria searchingly for our blue haired friend. "Maybe you're right," then she turned to Fluttershy. "Darling, can you describe how does he look like?"
Fluttershy nodded and began to explain his appearance until she finished.
"...and that's it," then she turned to Rainbow. "Um, if you don't mind, do you know his name?"
"Yeah, Matt Lowell, I believe he's not from here." Rainbow responded.
"And what are we waiting for. Let's throw him a welcome party! But first we must find him." Pinkie suggested with excitement.
The rest of the Rainbooms agreed with Pinkie's idea. I wonder what will happen next?
A few moments later...
So far, things are going well for Matt Lowell. Matt was standing on the edge of the soccer field, the cafeteria was full of friendly students but he didn't want to make friends, he would rather be an intruder. 'I'd prefer to be alone, I don't want to make enemies.' Matt thought to himself. The sun was shining brightly and there's no clouds in the sky. So peaceful.
Suddenly, Matt spotted six girls walking through the soccer field, he recognized at least two of them. 'That's Rainbow and the shy girl! I suppose that the rest of those girls are also their friends, they seem very close and...' Just then, Matt noticed something strange, 'Wait a moment... they're walking up to me? No, I doubt it.'
Matt continued to stare up at the sky as he scratched the back of his hair. The blue sky reminded of his hometown, as well the sweet scent of the high school and the city itself. Just when he was about to leave, someone tacked him from behind to the... Oh, wait a moment. Matt is unfazed by the sudden tackle!
"Huh?" He looked back to see a pink girl sitting down with stars flying around her head, probably from the impact when she tried to tackle him.
"Sitting, sitting. Bleeding." The pink girl weakly replied before losing consciousness.
"Whoa! Are you alright?" Matt asked with concern.
"Oh my gosh!! Pinkie!!!" A soft familiar voice cried with concern.
"What in tarnation!?" A female voice with a southern accent exclaimed.
Matt looked up to see the six girls staring at him and the pink girl in shock. 'Drat...'
Now, Matt was feeling bad. Really bad. He knew that if he tried to help their friend, they would refuse and lash him out.
Suddenly, Pinkie kip-ups to her feet.
"Ouch!" Pinkie groaned in pain as she rubbed her head. In an instant, Pinkie's face folded into a big smile like nothing happened. "Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, your hair looks awesome. Tell me, do you exercise every day? Cuz' your body feels like a stone, and yet my family works in a rock farm. I'm very sure we can be bes-" However... Matt has left already.
Sunset was the first to talk, "Well, that was strange."
"Or maybe, he is just shy." Applejack commented.
As for Rainbow Dash, only two things about the blue haired guy came into her mind while she crossed her arms. 'Dumb and twerp.'
Another three hours later...
School day has ended and everyone is ready to go home. Matt Lowell walked down through the streets of Canterlot, he began reflecting about what happened earlier, the six girls and the rainbow haired girl. Every time he thinks of Rainbow, he gets butterflies in his stomach. He had to admit it, he has a crush on Rainbow Dash.
Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by the noise of someone crying and at the same time, he felt a weak energy which he never thought it would be here. Right in this place... or rather in this world.
Matt couldn't believe it.
Without any hesitation, he started to walk towards the source of the melancholic noise. "Hello, Somebody here?" Matt softly spoke.
The only answer he receives is more crying. Slowly, the crusader started to approach only to find a blue haired girl, just like him. She was wearing a purple hoodie and blue jeans and apparently, a little torn up. The blue haired girl was the source of the crying.
"Excuse me, are you alright?" Matt genty asked.
The blue girl looks up to see Matt, standing right in front of him. "Please don't hurt me." The girl said between sobs.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." Matt gently said.
"H-Hey, who are you?" The girl asked.
Matt's face folded into a smile, "I'm Matt Lowell. What's your name?"
"Sonata. Sonata Dusk." The girl softly responded.
Matt only smiled at the girl name. "Tell me, are you... a Siren?"
Sonata let a panicked gasp and she started to shake like a leaf. "H-How d-do yo-you know?" She asked nervously.
"Relax, I know what you feel." Matt calmly said and then from his backpack pulled a sandwich with orange beverage. "Are you hungry?"
"Um... why are you helping me?" Sonata asked nervously. "You know who I really am. I caused a lot of problems with..."
"Because you have a good heart, Sonata." Matt said before leaving and giving her a handshake.
"Thank you..." Sonata said as she started eating her sandwich.
"No problemo."
It was midnight on Canterlot City. She was there lying on the bed trying to get some sleep, but for some reason Sunset Shimmer can't stop thinking about that blue haired guy. Of course, it was not a love sitation or something like that. It was something else...
'Strange, there is something different about him, but I can't put my finger on it,' Sunset continued to stare blankly at the ceiling. 'What if he isn't... No way, it can't be.' She couldn't finish the though, the answer was too unconventional. Yet, it maybe the reason why Rainbow Dash was harsh on him.
She let a heavy sigh in defeat.
The next day...
Fluttershy was walking down the sidewalk carrying her backpack en route to school smiling and humming a sweet tune.
"Howdy, Fluttershy!" a familiar voice called, Fluttershy turned around to see Applejack walking towards her. "How ya doin'?"
"Oh hello, Applejack," the shy girl said in her usual soft tone, "I'm doing fine, how about you?"
"Same as you, partner," Applejack replied, "you look happier than yesterday, something happened?"
Fluttershy nodded. "After school many animals from the Canterlot Animal Shelter were adopted, I never thought that would happen, and certainly not so fast. isn't it good?"
Applejack smiled. "Good to hear, Ah'm sure those little fellas are happy in their new homes."
Finally, both gals arrived at the school entrance. Classes haven't started yet.
"Hey guys," a weak sounding voice called, both girls turned around to see Sunset Shimmer with bags under her eyes.
"Whoa! Sugarcube, are you alright?" Applejack asked
Sunset's response was a big yawn.
"Ah'll take that as a no."
Sunset finally spoke. "I just didn't sleep well."
"D-Do you want get a coffee? If that's okay with you," Fluttershy asked.
"Maybe next time. Thanks for asking, Fluttershy," Sunset replied before letting another yawn.
"If you say so. Just to remind you, if you need something you can count on us," Applejack said.
"Alright," Sunset let another yawn, and with that, the three Rainbooms entered the building.
Meanwhile inside the school, Rainbow Dash was walking through the halls of the school with her beloved soccer ball heading straight to the soccer field. However, her ears perked when she heard something that caught her attention.
"No way!"
"You're kidding, right?"
"No, I really saw the new guy with one of those rotten sirens yesterday."
Rainbow stopped in her tracks and turned to the source of the chat, there were Moondancer, Cloud Kicker and Sea Swirl.
Rainbow's eyes widened at the mention of the word "siren". 'Siren? New guy? What's going on?' She wasn't sure if the sirens have gotten their powers back. Most important, what does Matt have to do with the sirens. There was something wrong. Really wrong.
"Hey," Rainbow called as she approached to the girls.
Moondancer was the first to talk. "What is it Rainbow?"
"I heard that Sea Swirl saw one of the sirens. Is that true?"
"Well, yes. And that guy Matt Lowell was with her," Sea Swirl explained.
"Speaking of... Do you know him?" Cloud kicker asked.
"More or less," Rainbow replied. "I just wanted to know about the fuss, that's all."
"Okay, see you then," Moondancer said before leaving with Cloud kicker and Sea Swirl.
After bidding farewell to the girls, Rainbow pulled her cell phone and began typing an message for the rest of The Rainbooms.
"Philosophy? It may be interesting," Matt said as he walked into his first class of the day: Philosophy. He looked to see the students chatting with one another, minding their own business. 'I wonder what is harmony in life?'
Matt started looking for an open seat until he spotted one that was near the window. He took a seat and placed his backpack beside him.
Just when he was about to open his mind (Imagination if you're wondering), he felt a couple of taps on his shoulder. Matt turned to his left to see a purple haired girl with a very pale skin. It was none other than Rarity Belle.
"Hello," she said, smiling.
Matt recognized her. "Hey, I know you."
"Matt Lowell, right?"
"Yeah," Matt stared at her skin. "You're very white."
Rarity blushed at the comment. "I know."
"Um, sorry about what happened yesterday," Matt politely apologized.
She gave him a confused look. "What are you talking about?"
"Your pink friend, of course," Matt said.
"Oh, that. Don't worry, it's not your fault," Rarity said to him.
Matt smiled brightly. "So, we are cool?"
"Yeah. By the way, I'm Rarity Belle, charmed." Rarity introduced herself as the lady she is.
Matt let a light hearted chuckle. "Rarity. Cute name."
"My name is not that cute," once again, she blushed while giving him a gentle smile.
Matt shrugged. "If you say so."
Rarity grinned widely. 'Just as I thought, he's a gentleman.'
"Rarity. Can I ask you something?" Matt asked, looking at the ceiling.
"Of course, darling. Go ahead," she gave him a soft smile.
"Do you believe in Sirens?"
Rarity was taken aback by the question. "Why do you ask?" she asked.
Matt put a hand to his chin. "Well, I met one yesterday. She was sad. So, I'm going to visit her again after school."
"Excuse me if I'm being rude, but how does she look like?" Rarity asked.
"Let's see... She has blue hair -" Matt pointed at his hair "- like me, blue skin and magenta eyes."
Rarity nodded before asking again. "And how do you know if she is a Siren?"
"Well, it's kind of crazy. You won't believe me,"
"It doesn't matter, darling. I believe you," then a vibrating noise came from the pocket of her skirt. "Um, Excuse me, I have t-"
"Nah, It's alright. There's no problem."
Rarity gave him a quick "thank you" as she pulled out her cell phone. What she saw was a message sent by Rainbow.
I have something important to tell at recess. It's urgent. - Rainbow Dash
The door of the classroom opened and coming in was Miss Cheerilee with her usual smile.
Rarity put her cell phone away. "Talk to me later," she whispered to him.
Matt only nodded and with that the rest of the class went without problems.
