After Sombra got "destroyed" by the Crystal Heart, his horn is seen flying into the frozen wasteland around the Crystal Empire. Everypony think he's dead and gone, but it's not that simple. Having casted a spell on himself to escape death, Sombra now seeks revenge, but now knows he can't achieve this all by himself, so he seeks out a certain Changeling Queen, who was banished to the badlands at the border of Equestria. There he seeks to form an alliance with her, to retake the Crystal Empire, wage war on Equestria and to crush The Mane Six and their associates once and for all. But little to Sombra's knowledge, fate has more in store for him and the Changeling Queen.
