1 the beginning of the present
day one.
The breeze blowing the are leafs down the barren dirt path. Which ironically is occupied by the barren soul walking down it. Water Downfall thought of all things that robbed him.
"Whenever I am close to somepony emotionally I or somepony I know gets hurt" water thought aloud as he was approaching the edge of the town guitar and dagger strapped to his back (guitar) and to his chest(dagger) at the rim of his plain white T. He felt like something was going to happen if he were to walk on the streets, therefore he took the alleyways. Just as he was exiting the safe haven of a passageway he see's a light pink blur speed by determinedly. 'Seems like an easily alarmed pony, Perhaps a worried parent, no matter though'. I walk up unnoticeably to the crowd next to an orange earth pony with a stenson at a stand. I sit on a crate of supply next to the country like girl and speak up."Do you mind if I play here" I say indicating to my acoustic by swinging it over my shoulder".
"Whoa nilly I didn' even see ya walk on up here!" she exclaimed drawing suspicious eyes to both me and her. She chuckles a little and looks a bit between bashful and embarrassed.
As the eyes divert from the scene I decide that it is my turn to talk "I tend to have that effect on people" I stated honestly out of experience. "So do you mind if I play an amount it could be a decent business opportunity "
"Well I suppose you can if you are able to han'el that" she spoke slowly pushing her words out with a thick country accent. "but on one condition you need to show how skilled dja are with that there instrument.
I gladly oblige her request and leaned forwards. I slowly begin to pluck at the first string with my other hoof holding down the string to the fret. I slowly tap my rear hoof on the ground keeping a steady beat. I begin to play the song Sanctuary a personal favorite of mine. As I soft song I reopen my eyes to see that there is a few more people that what the orange mare to handle. I watched as a young chipper filly and a burly large stallion take over the shift. "Did I bring in these customers or was it your doing?" I ask genuinely curious.
"I believe that you got yourself a good han' dealt. Ya have enough skill to become famous" flattering me a small amount.
"thanks" I remark in my regular deepened monotone as I turn and leave ,"But I think I will stick with who I am for now.
End of Day One
While circling around the small town of PonyVille I find my new abode a long abandoned ware house. If a bit small for average shipping products. Suggesting that is was originally an ice house meaning insulation. Either way this is now my home I walk inside and see windows illuminating the walls ahead with sunlight. I laid my guitar against the wall as well as my own body next to it and dozed to an uninterrupted slumber.
Day two
I slowly began to arouse thinking I would be alone but in the very back of the warehouse I see a white unicorn with a blue and light blue alternating tail and mane with pink tinted glasses mid process of plugging in head phones to this comically large turn table.
"Pardon me but who are you?" I inquisitively said.
"She answered with a head nod and an introduction "Vinyl Scratch and I got kicked out of my roommate's apartment because I was being to loud with my mixing."
"Okay" I said in a confused tone, "but why are you here"
"Because I saw you perform at an apple stand yesterday and I decided he I likes music so he would understand that I mix all the time" she gleefully responded," and now we are here as roommates in a wear house neither of us own".
"Okay so we are roommates now?'' I say still unclear of what she meant.
"Well pshh yea we are, but I'm kinda nervous" having all enthusiasm drain from here speech." What if the people that own this place run us out we would have no other place in PonyVille to go"
I calmly respond," Don't worry about it this place is old and was used when ice harvest were popular. They abandoned the place shortly after refrigerator became easy to afford and use".
"Cool,'' she said although it was obvious she was nodding off.
"Do you want help with your with moving your other stuff or what" knowing that she had to obviously move more stuff.
"Yea it is going to take a while moving it all by myself..."She immediately lowered her voice."
" alright lets go get your stuff" I replied sounding annoyed.
she meekly nodded as if there were something un easing her. She begins to walk through the streets of PonyVille same as I except I had my head tilted downwards so no one can see my face below the nose. as we arrived I saw a few boxes and a simple box spring mattress on her door step. she picked up the boxes leaving the box spring left. I exhale slowly and pick up the mattress with semi-effort and began to trudge across town in vinyl's track.
end of day two
Due to the fact that the warehouse is so far away by the time we arrived back to the warehouse I was drenched in sweat. The mattress still on my back was dropped off inside against the wall.
"Well there you go 'vinyl' there is your stuff and now you owe me one", I playfully mocked
"Thanks, umm..." obviously attempting to make up for the lack of information I gave about myself.
"It's Water" I state with a snide ass smile.
"Well thanks Water" she honestly said and rapped her fore hooves around my neck and pulled into a hug.
To be purely truthful I was put into a daze even if it was only friend affection it began to warm my long since chilled heart I quickly returned it trying to return it but she pulled back and smiled.
"I think it is time to call it a night big guy" she smiled and punched me lightly in the shoulder.
I nod my head laying my body up against the wall next to the mattress while the DJ throws herself on the box spring next to me.
soon after I hear her breathing slow I feel the flame of my consciousness flicker as my eyes grow heavy.
