//-------------------------------------------------------// DQ2 #3.5 The talk -by DrakoXeno1138- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Chapter //-------------------------------------------------------// The Chapter The cool moring air washed over his scaled body as he stood on the balcony of Sugarcube Corner with his hands behind his back. As was his usual thing to do after a short meditation session on said balcony. The session itself having been proceeded by a night of amorous activities with Ponyville's resident party planner. Drako hadn't bothered to keep count, but this would be in the tens after two months and a quarter since his arrival in Ponyville. Mostly because every one, including the first, was never really intended. In fact he made it a point of making sure that was clear since the first time. "This is a one time thing. This will not happen again." That was what he had told Pinkie the first time right before they were to do the deed. The second time was when Pinkie had to stay in hiding for a bit, due to some problems with Spitfire, and Drako being the only one to watch over her. It was like the first time, conceding to a good way to pass the time. "We won't do this again" That's what he told Pinkie after the second time. And every time after that. This is what was going through the dragon's mind as he overlooked the town on this nice day. But even more so were two truths that he would need to tell the pink mare. Though one of these currently had a bigger impact, as he had just learned it right now. "Morning Drakey!" Drako's thoughts were interrupted by the very mare he was thinking of. "Last night was great as usual" Pinkie continued happily "I'm making waffles for breakfast." "We won't do this again" That comment had become more of a routine rather than a serious message. "I know!" Pinkie chirped in her same happy tone. Had it not been for her chipper attitude, she would've replied with heavy sarcasm. Especially considering this was number eighteen. She kept count. "I hate you, you know that?" Drako said from the balcony. "What do you mean?" Pinkie asked puzzled, yet her usual happy mood not faltering. "Every time I think I'm out, you pull me back in" Drako stated as he stepped back inside and put on his trench coat. "That's the Pinkie charm" Pinkie giggled in response. "You can't tell me it isn't fun after I've worked my magic on you." Pinkie finished with a slight wiggle of her eyebrows. Drako didn't respond to that and instead stepped up to the counter of the kitchenette in Pinkie's room. "Pinkie I have to talk to you." "Sure. About what?" "About something serious." It was something very serious. And it wasn't a conversation he had been looking forward to having. But he knew it needed to be said eventually after the fifth time. The most difficult part was dealing with how Pinkie would take it, considering the very noticable attachment she had to the dragon. "Ooh" Pinkie replied as she stepped to the counter. She placed her front hooves on the counter top, inched her face close and looked into Drako's eyes. "Seriousssssssss" she said while speedily wiggling her eyebrows. In response, Drako put an index claw in the middle if her forehead and pushed her back a bit. "Really serious Pinkie. I'm gonna tell you something you're not going to like." "Then don't" Pinkie replied in her chipper tone. ".........I'm going to" "Don't" Pinkie replied in the same tone. "Diane" Drako replied strongly "This is something we both need to hear out loud." Pinkie's smile shrunk a bit and her eyes softened slightly. Drako had reffered to her by middle name once before. And this time she could sense that Drako was in fact serious. Drako took a deep breath before he said the first truth. "You're not the one." Although she didn't show it, Pinkie was struck by what Drako had just said. And the denial set in. "What's that supposed to mean?" Pinkie replied happily "We've been together for a while now." "It wasn't serious" "Agree to disagree" She was making this difficult. "I know you're not my life mate Pinkie." "You don't know for sure" Pinkie replied optimistically. "Yes I do becuase I had my Smaug dream a while ago and you weren't in it." Drako had said this a little more forcefully than he intended, as evidenced by Pinkie's taken aback expression. He lowered his gaze from her after seeing her face and turned away. He didn't say he was sorry, because he still had more to say. "What's been going on between us, it's going to end. And I'm going to have to end it." "Don't say that" Pinkie said, now saddened "What we have is special. I could be your life mate, you could have another dream and see that" she said as she walked up a few feet behind him. She was determined to get him to have faith in their relationship. "I can't because I already saw my life mate in my dream." That drove the nail all the way in. Pinkie took a few steps back in disbelief, tears now coming down her face. "W-what?" Pinkie said shakily. Please don't cry Drako begged in his head It's heartbreaking to hear you cry. Right?. In the very back of her mind, Pinkie Pie knew this was coming and she had been dreading it. It had just been overshadowed by her joy of being with the dragon that had stolen her heart, and her overall joy in general. After their second time together, she wasn't worried about it being the last time. What she was worried about was that she wouldn't be the Rarity to his Spike, a life mate; she counteracted this with the optimism that she would be. "I didn't get a clear image" Drako continued, his eyes closed in frustration "But I've figured out who she is. And it's..........it's not you. I'm sure of it." That last statement stopped Pinkie from attempting to convince him otherwise. She hung her head in sadness as the tears fell. Drako was being tortured by their sound in the silent area with his heightened hearing. "Do not for one second think this isn't hard for me" Drako stated. "This is especially hard after what I realized just this morning. That even with all of that, it didn't stop me from falling in love with you." The second truth. Pinkie's head shot up, her tear filled eyes wide with shock. Di-did he just say.......? "I guess deep down I knew it was happening" Drako continued "I just never wanted to believe it, with the whole dream vision and life mate thing. But it did. Looking back, my first clue was before me and Spike left to train in the Everfree Forest." Pinkie knew what he was referring to. When he had unknwoingly wrapped his tail around one of her hind legs, stopping the both of them. They exchanged a silent, or rather mouthed goodbye before Drako departed. There was an unspoken sense of personal importance for one another. "I agree that what we have is special" Drako said "And I love things about you like your personality, the way you seek to make everypony happy, your ability to get vicious when needed, your love of party themed ballistics, your fourth wall breaking, your logic defying nature, and of course your.....physical aspects." Drako stood silent for a moment as he thought about these traits. "I can offer you a condolence if you would still have me." Drako took her silence as a cue to continue. "What we have will end, but I can feel that it's still a long ways away. During that time, I say we make the best of it, and even finally go public about our relationship. I promise that I will do what I can to make you happy, go out to fancy restaurants, crazy parties, collaborate on parties together, travel to Prance and Manehattan, launch a full scale assault on the Grand Galloping Gala with an army of party canons if you want." Drako turned to face the pink mare. "I know it's a raw deal with the inevitable end,but I hope you'll consider Whoa!" Drako was cut off as Pinkie tackled him to the ground, planting her lips firmly on his. Her eyes were closed as tears, not of sadness but joy, streamed down her face. She pulled away from the surprised dragon with a smile. "I'll take it" she sobbed happily "I'll take it." Drako put a hand on Pinkie's cheek while giving her a caring smile. "I hate you and I love you." "I love you and I love you even more." Pinkie and Drako began to kiss once again, both sides full of love and passion. Then it started to get a little more heated. Drako picked himself up and then picked up Pinkie, his lips never leaving hers. He placed her gently on her bed as they continued to make out lovingly. Drako broke away and began nuzzling and kissing Pinkie's neck. "I want you" Pinkie said breathily "Take me now!" A loud series of knocks stopped Drako from telling her he wouldn't at the moment. "Pinkie! We have customers down stairs!" yelled the angry voice of Mrs. Cake from the other side "Some of which are children!" "Sorry Mrs. Cake!" Pinkie called out. My guaranteed bit of craziness ;) "We've got to get these thin walls replaced" Mrs. Cake stated as she walked away. "Tonight" Drako assured Pinke after giving her a peck on the lips. "Yay!"
