Ah-ha-hem. Let me introduce myself. My name is Twilight Sparkle, the librarian of Ponyville. Today I am going to tell you a true story. It is about a small filly named Steamwink. She is a small adult, but this is not needed. Anyways, let's get to the story.

Once upon a time- no wait, this is a true story. Once upon my Filly Age, there was a filly named Steamwink. She was a steam-punk like filly, as though it is very obvious. She was a blank flank, although her friends already had their cutie mark.

"UUUUGH!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M THE ONLY ONE IN OUR CLASS WITHOUT A CUTIE MARK!" Steamwink shouted. It was a tiring day in school, or at least for Steamwink, that is. She was a blank flank, obviously due to what she shouted. It was another dreadful day, being teased and due to her friends already having cutie marks, the other ponies started saying that she wasn't part of the Three Feathered Mares, and they were only the Feathered Duo. "I know you don't have your cutie mark, but I think you should try something... COLORFUL!" said Mango, trying to cheer her up. "I tried drawing, but all I can draw is maps. I didn't get nothin'." complained Steamwink, with a grumpy-sad look on her face. "Maps, huh? How about ADVENTURE? Remember when you guided us through that closet?" said Red Moon. "Oh yeah... Maybe I can get my cutie mark in adventure! Thank you, you two!" said Steamwink, hugging the two hardly.

She started thinking. Maybe I could go to Whitetail Forest... No wait, that forest is too well known. Steamwinks mind raced and raced. She couldn't think of any place where she could adventure. Then an idea popped into her mind. "THAT'S IT! I COULD GO TO THE EVERFREE FOREST!" exclaimed Steamwink out loud. Her father, a steam-punk mechanic walked inside. "Are you thinking of going into the Everfree Forest? It's too dangerous, and it's too faraway." he said. Steamwink couldn't argue with her father, but she wanted her cutie mark badly. Her mind raced quickly and tried to make a decision. She decided to tell her father off. "But FAAAAAAAAAAAATHEEEEEEERRR!!!!" she exclaimed. "No honey, it's too dangerous." her father yelled back. "Dad. You can't just pass up my opportunity. I need my cutie mark." "Sweetie-" "I'll do anything to find my cutie mark! Don't hold me back or I'll never find it." Finally, her father came down with defeat. "Fine, Steamwink. But I want you to be careful. Take these maps, pens, and other equipment. If you lose one, I put in extras." said Steamwinks father, passing her a bag for exploration. "Also, here's some bits. Put them into good use." Steamwink received the bits. She was about to leave, when she remembered to do something. "Thank you, father. I love you." Steamwink hugged her father as she almost left the door. She glanced back one last time, and rode in a carriage to Everfree. As she arrived, she looked at the big forest. So this is the Everfree Forest... said Steamwink.

Her mind thought back and forth as she wandered into the forest. "Doesn't seem so creepy, it's actually a bit neat..." said Steamwink, marking her first piece of paper with what she saw. She walked even deeper into the forest, not seeing anything suspicious. As she entered a darker part of the forest, she got out a flashlight and looked around herself. This is a little bit more creepier than what I saw earlier... thought Steamwink. She felt very small in the forest, even though she was a filly. She proceeded with more precaution than she previously had. She felt a very uncomfortable feeling as she proceeded every step. As she paused for the fourth time, she looked around herself. Nothing but trees, vines, ferns, and... Blue flowers?

Steamwink examined the flowers. She felt like she should touch it, but at the same time, felt like she shouldn't. She suddenly remembered what the flower was. She looked in the adventure bag her father gave her and looked for the book Supernaturals. Luckily, she found it and popped it open. She flipped the books pages until she found a picture that looked like a flower. In the book, however, her friend Mango had glued a picture of poison joke onto the page. "Poison Joke, the flower that gives you an ailment just to get a laugh... Oh yeah! Mango had one in a vase covered with glass so no one would touch it!" exclaimed Steamwink. She looked for a path that didn't have poison joke, but couldn't find one. It's either pass carelessly, find another way, or fly, your choice, Steamwink, Steamwink told herself.

Steamwink got down to thinking. If she passed, she would be inflicted with something for fillies to stare and laugh at and/or ponies to panic at. If she looked for another path, it would be helpful, but it looked like there wasn't a path. If she tried to fly, she might fall, due to her left wing having loss of main feathers. She chose to find another path. She looked around the Poison Joke patch, but there was still no path available. She tried to fly up to the branch to find another path. After finally getting on the branch, there was still no path available. It might be night time already... maybe I should look above that tree, thought Steamwink. She jumped up the branches and tried to fly with all her might. She finally got to the top, when she noticed it was nothing but dark, unless you counted her flashlight. "Nighttime it is. Time to sleep." said Steamwink out loud. She jumped down to a branch available to the bottom, but up near the top. She searched her backpack for a pillow. She pulled one out and saw a blanket fly out wrapped around it. "I'm getting the idea that father really does care for me." she said.

Oops! It's time for me and Spike to go to bed. This was such a great story submitted to me, and it would be a shame to just abandon it for tonight. *shuffles paper* *shuffle shuffle* It seems like a good story so far... *takes off reading glasses* But I have to go to bed now. Good Night! Twilight I'm heeeeeeere! Sorry Pinkie, your late. It's still a pretty good story! Aaaaaaaawwww! I wish I was here... Well, goodbye Twilight! That story almost sounded like Daring Doo!
