My Little Human
The False Soothsayers Prophacy
Previous ChapterNext ChapterShe couldn't move, dark fog was surrounding her. The Princess tried to call for help, but it was no use. She couldn't stay long, she had to move. He was coming, she had to move now!
A figure appeared from the smoke, taking his time as he walked to the princess.
Too late, he has arrived.
Frantically, she tried to run, but it was no use; she couldn't move.
The figure came closer, removing his helmet, that same dragon shaped helmet. He snickered at the fear that shown across the princess's face.
"What's the matter? I thought you would be happy to see me," He said to the princess. "What's the matter? I thought you loved me," he frowned, reaching for the empty sword handle on his waist. "Or, was that a lie? Just like everything else you've ever told me? Isn't that right?"He was a foot away from the princess now. He pressed the button on the empty sword handle, a flaming sword erupted from it. Celestia could do nothing but watch, as the figure pointed the sword at her throat.
"I said, isn't that right? MOMMY?" he stared directly into her eyes, snickering.
"Mommy, mommy, mommy-"
"MOMMY!"
Celestia awoke with a gasp, she felt something around her neck. She looked down and saw a little boy giving her a hug.
"Come on mommy, its the first day of school today!" said Glee Sunrise. He quickly jumped of the princess's bed and ran to go grab his bag.
'Well, he certainly seems excited about the new school year' ,thought Celestia. She got off her bed and proceeded to get ready for the day herself. She brushed her hair, placed on her royal jewelry, and then left to the royal dining hall. She took her seat in between Glee Sunrise and Sunset Shimmers as a waiter placed a plate full of toast, a muffin, orange juice, and oatmeal.
"So, are you two excited for the new school year?" asked Celestia. "Yeah I am! I cant wait to see Twilight and Green Bush again!" said Glee excitedly. It was completely understandable for Glee to be excited to see his friends Twilight and Green Bush, they were his first friends when he first went to school. Celestia had thought about placing him in a private school through fear that the other ponies would tease him for being different, she in the end however decided that she would place him in a public school in hopes that he would make friends. Glee had always been excited about making new friends and about going to school, so after he came home on his first day, he was almost bouncing off the walls with excitement. He came home that day telling Celestia about the fun day he had learning and playing and other activities that kindergarteners would do.
"What about you Sunset Shimmers? are you excited for the school year" said Glee, munching on toast.
"Ha! As if. I'd like to attend my private lessons with having to hear the noise of ponies running up and down the halls" said Sunset Shimmers.
Unlike Glee, Sunset Shimmers was a private student to Celestia. There was a public school for the high school students in the castle as well. Celestia was hoping that this would give Sunset Shimmers the chance to make friends with ponies her age, but the hustle and bustle of high school ponies just seemed to aggravate her.
"Now, Sunset Shimmers, I expect you to actually make some friends this year, understand?" said Celestia, raising an eyebrow towards her.
"Ugh! I just don't see the point in having to associate myself with ponies who are SO below MY standards."
"Excuse me?" said Celestia, looking very cross at Sunset Shimmers.
Sunset quickly got off her seat and place her saddle bag on her back. "Oh, but I... didn't say I wouldn't try, heh heh". She looked down at a non-existent watch on her hoof. "Oh would you look at the time! I better be off to my studies!" She quickly sped off.
The princess sighed, as she looked at the grandfather clock that sat in the corner of the dining hall. "I guess it is time for us to depart, are you ready to go Glee?" asked the princess. Glee quickly shook his head up and down as he placed his bag over his shoulders.
Celestia walked with Glee out of the hall and took him to the front court yard. Once there, Glee sat in the royal coach that took him to school. Celestia waved goodbye as the two guard pegasus stretched their wings and flew off taking the coach towards the school.
"First day of school your highness?" asked a voice behind the princess. It was Lyra Cherry Blossom, the private cherry gardener who worked at the castle. The princess smiled, "why yes, indeed it is, (sigh) eight years old already" said Celestia. Lyra chuckled, "Well, all I can say is ,you better enjoy these years while you still got em. Cause next thing you know, he'll be just another teenager, causing trouble" ,said Lyra. "Oh I'm sure he'll turn out just fine. Glee is an extraordinary little boy, he loves to learn, he gets along just fine with all of the kids at his school, and he's always so full of joy" said Celestia. Lyra rolled her eyes, "oh come on, he's eight years old, he must act up sometimes."
Now that Celestia thought about it, Glee hardly ever became upset about anything. One time Glee fell from a tree that he and Green Bush tried to climb, and fell. He sprained his ankle and the doctors had to put a cast on it for a month, but Glee was still smiling in the end. The only time Celestia could remember Glee throwing a tantrum was back when Glee would cry every time Celestia left the room, but he has since grown from that.
Celestia chuckled, "actually, he really is a well behaved little boy. Speaking of which, how's Amanda doing?" asked Celestia. Lyra frowned, "Eh, you know, she's a really good girl and all but I'm getting really worried that the whole imaginary friend thing is never gonna go away. In fact, I feel like its getting worse, she's thirteen years old and she say's that she hears voices in her head, like their her best friends or something"
"Well have you tried taking her to a doctor?" asked Celestia.
"I have," said Lyra as she looked into the princess's eyes. "Seems like some pony else needs to see a doctor too." said Lyra.
"What makes you say that?" asked Celestia. Lyra reached into her purse and pulled out a mirror, showing Celestia the bags under her eyes.
"Oh, I must've not have received enough sleep last night. I'll be resting as soon as I lift the moon tonight" said Celestia as she began walking back to the castle. Lyra stepped in front of her, stopping the princess in her tracks. "You're not pulling a fast one on me, I know you princess," Lyra said as she stepped closer and whispered into the princess's ear, "you had that dream again, didn't you."
Celestia looked around to see if any pony was listening. She then nodded her head and motioned for Lyra to follow her.
Lyra followed the princess into the castle and up the flight of stairs until they entered Celestia's bed chambers. As they entered, Celestia placed a sound muffling spell around the walls of her room as to not have their conversation be heard by any pony.
"So, princess, anything you want to tell me?" asked Lyra.
Most ponies felt it wasn't their place to question the princess's personal affairs , but Lyra was an exception.
Lyra had been a very close friend of Celestia for a while now. At first, Lyra was just another employee who worked at the castle. Her special talent was cherry farming and making delicious treats with cherries. When the castle staff announced that they were hiring, Lyra quickly filled out and shipped a resume. One week later, she received a letter saying that she had been accepted to farm cherries at the castle. Three weeks later she was out trimming a cherry tree alone when she heard some pony walking behind some of the trees in front of her. She went to see who it was and discovered Celestia walking alone. She saw that Celestia was silently crying, so Lyra helped to comfort her. They had been friends ever since.
Celestia nodded, then looked out the window. "Yes, I did indeed have that dream again, the dream I've been having almost every day ever since I first found Glee." "Do you think it means something?" Lyra asked, concerned. Celestia sighed, "I wish I knew, the dreams don't give too much information to tell by. The most I can tell is that someone is approaching", "you mean some pony, right?" asked Lyra. Celestia shook her head, "no, not some pony, someone. Some one with fiery red eyes of pure anger, who wanders in armor of dragon leather and metal, and wields dangerous weapons that no pony dares to wield themselves. Almost every night is the same, I feel myself trapped, as if no matter how hard I try, there's no escape for what's to come , then the mysterious figure approaches, wielding his weapons, then," she looked at Lyra. "He attacks," Celestia finished.
"Attacks? You mean, he attacks you?" Lyra asked. Celestia nodded. "But why? Why would he attack you? You haven't done anything wrong!" Lyra exclaimed.
"Yes, but perhaps its not what I've done now, perhaps its what I will do" said Celestia, as she turned back to the window again.
Lyra thought for a moment on what the princess could mean by this, then asked, "You think it has something to do with Glee? Don't you?"
Celestia did not answer. "But, you've told me what that man looks like in your dreams before. He has long gross hair, red eyes, an 'X' shaped scar on his right cheek, and wears dragon skin. Now does that sound like Glee to you?" Lyra asked.
Celestia turned and walked to a picture that she kept on her bed side table. She levitated the photo to her and looked into its contents. The photo showed a picture of Celestia walking beside a very happy Glee Sunrise and a very annoyed Sunset Shimmers. She smiled.
"No, I guess that doesn't sound like Glee at all," she said, as she gave the photo to Lyra.
'Glee doesn't look anything like that man in Celestia's dreams' Lyra thought to herself. Glee had blue eyes, short clean hair, and NO scar.
Lyra gave the princess her photo back, "he sure does look happy in that photo, can't say the same for Sunset Shimmers though."
"Oh she's like that in every photo, always looking grumpy," said Celestia. She chuckled to herself, then quickly began to frown again.
Lyra looked at the princess, wondering what to say next. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head.
"Ooooh! I've got an idea that just might put these silly dreams of yours to rest!" said Lyra with excitement.
"And what would that be?" Celestia asked.
"Well, I know you've told me this idea was just silly and unreliable, but just hear me out. My sister's a bit of a fortune teller, well I like to consider her more of soothsayer, but she calls herself a fortune teller. Now if you would just give her at least five minutes then maybe it could-". Celestia sighed "Lyra, I've told you before that I will not seek the help of a fortune teller. I'm glad you like your sister's line of work, but I need something that's more ..... practical, no offense to your sister of course."
"But Celestia! Ponies have been able to predict the future before! Why don't you trust fortune tellers now?" asked Lyra.
"Yes ponies HAVE been able to predict the future before, but it was more complex than simply seeing into the future. It takes very powerful unicorns to do something of such caliber, and it takes more than one to do it. Even if a pony is to predict the future, what if they did not like what they saw?"
Lyra hadn't thought about this, but she still wasn't taking no for an answer. "Well yeah, that may be true, but you still need help, and I'm not moving from this spot until I can give it to you!" She then sat down and crossed her front legs together.
Celestia chuckled. "You dare speak to your princess that way?" she said jokingly.
"Only if that princess is being stubborn," said Lyra as she stuck her tongue out at her.
Celestia looked angrily at Lyra and stepped close to her, staring at her. Lyra did the same. They stared at each other for a few seconds before laughing.
"Fine, if that's how you're going to be then I guess we can have your sister come over," said Celestia.
Lyra squealed. "I'll send her a letter right away!" she said as she ran to the door. "Don't worry princess! You have nothing to fear!" Lyra shouted, she then slammed the door and galloped down the hall.
Celestia waited until the sound of her hoof steps died down before muttering to herself, "I hope you're right," She then sat down at her desk to work on her mid morning paper work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You're highness, my sister tells me you have a dream that's been bothering you?" asked a green and white unicorn.
"Indeed I do, Miss Cherry Blossom" said Celestia.
"Please your highness, you may call me Myra" said Myra Cherry Blossom.
"Very well, then, Myra, is there anything you can do about these dreams?" asked Celestia.
Myra nodded. "of course your highness, I will be ever so glad to help you with your dream problem" said Myra nervously. Myra then placed a bag on a nearby table and began to empty its contents. A crystal sphere, an essence stick, candles, and other various fortune telling equipment. Celestia noticed that Myra was shaking while she set up her equipment.
"Are you feeling alright Myra?" asked Celestia.
"Oh I'm quite alright your highness, just a bit nervous, I wasn't very well too informed on who I would be working for today," said Myra, as she glared at her sister.
Lyra gave a weak chuckle, "hey I told you some pony wanted to hire you at the castle."
"Well you didn't tell me it would be the PRINCESS! Uh, no offense your highness," said Myra.
Celestia smiled. "Its fine Myra, completely understandable. Lyra, you may want to inform your sister better next time."
Lyra gave an apologetic smile to Celestia and her sister as she rubbed the back of her head.
Celestia, Lyra, and Myra were all together in Celestia's bed chambers. Myra had closed the window curtains and turned off all the lights, dimming the room. They sat at a round table, Celestia sitting next to Lyra and Myra sat across from them. A few candles, lit essences, and the crystal sphere sat on the table in between them.
"Are you certain that this will work?" asked Celestia.
"There's no need to worry, your highness, my methods are flawless!" Myra said as she lit an essence. The essence exploded into a black cloud, when the cloud disappeared, they saw that Myra's face was covered in soot. Myra gave a weak chuckle, "oops, wrong essence". She quickly tossed the essence aside and began pulling out a new one (Celestia noticed as she tossed it that the wrapping on the essence said "Lou's Prank Shack"). Once a new essence was lit, she quickly wiped the soot off her face with a rag, tossed it aside, and went straight to work.
Myra waved her fore hoofs around the crystal sphere. "so tell me, your highness, what exactly occurs in these dreams of yours?" she asked.
"Well, every dream is usually the same, there are minor differences to each one, but they're all usually the same. First, I feel fear that someone is approaching, someone dangerous."
"Ah, yes! That could be the sign of a future encounter!" Myra said as she waved her hoofs around the sphere some more.
"Then, I try to run, but I can no longer move" said Celestia.
"A sign that this encounter is unavoidable!" said Myra.
"Then, this strange figure appears, I still don't know he is, but for some reason he's always there in every dream," said Celestia.
Myra nodded. "go on" she said.
"Then, he attacks me. I don't know exactly why he attacks me, what I do know is that I've done something to anger him, and whatever it is that I've done, its caused him to feel nothing but anger towards me," said Celestia.
"Is that all?" asked Myra.
"Yes, that is all," said Celestia.
"Well, this one is quite tricky, based off the information you gave me I don't seem to- WAIT!" Myra suddenly shouted. She began to wave her hoofs around the crystal sphere faster, as she gazed into it without blinking.
"Yes! Yes I see it! Images of the future! Told before me within this crystal ball!" Myra shouted.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and the chairs they sat in began to levitate.
"GREAT SPIRITS OF THE FUTURE! GIVE ME THE SIGHT TO SEE BEYOND!" Myra shouted.
The table then began to levitate, and the crystal sphere on the table had began to glow, voices could be heard coming from it. Myra's eyes had suddenly began to glow. The ground shook even harder. Myra screamed.
Then, as soon as everything had begun, it stopped.
The chairs and table fell, the crystal sphere and Myra's eyes stopped glowing, and the voices from the sphere went silent. The lights flickered back on as well.
Lyra froze for a few seconds to process what had just happened, Celestia however seemed unfazed and calm during the entire process, then Myra shouted, "the spirits have blessed me with visions of your future Celestia. Do you wish for me to tell you your future?" asked Myra.
"Yes Myra, I would like you to tell me," said Celestia, as she gave Myra a smile.
Myra reached into her bag, "In which case, Celestia, thanks to the information that has been given to me by the spirits, I have to say-" before she could finish speaking, Myra grabbed a handful of confetti and threw it into the air, showering the three ponies in confetti. Then, Myra blew from a kazoo, "congratulations princess! You will be meeting the man of your dream!" she shouted, grinning at Celestia and Lyra.
Lyra gaped at her sister for a moment, "WHAT! You mean to tell me that after all that, the spirits told you that the princess would meet the man of her dreams?" she asked. Myra nodded, "but, how does that make any sense? The man in her dreams doesn't love her! He wants to attack her!" said Lyra.
Myra shrugged, "beats me, I'm not the one who predicted it, the spirits did. Now, if that's all you two need, then my work here is done". Myra then began to pack her fortune telling equipment into her bag.
Lyra continued to gape at her sister, Celestia however gave a chuckle.
"That was quite a show you put on there Myra, I really enjoyed the levitating chairs. But I feel that the glowing eyes was a bit much" said Celestia.
Myra froze as she was putting the sphere into her bag, "wh-what ever do you mean your highness?" she asked.
Celestia sighed, "Myra, I have been alive for a VERY long time, long enough to where I can tell the difference between seeing the future, and a hoax."
Lyra thought about what the princess had said, before turning to her sister. "is this true Myra? Are you lying when you say you can see into the future?"
Myra gulped before answering,."well... I've told you I was really good at illusion magic before, and that wasn't a lie." Myra chuckled nervously.
Lyra's eyes began to bulge as she quickly became angry. "All this time I've told ponies about how great a fortune teller you were, and the whole time its been nothing but a scam!" she said, her voice rising.
Myra looked insulted, "well I'VE got to make a living to you know, and illusion magic had always been a specialty of mine so I figured 'why not use this to my advantage', and it had worked just fine until now."
"But, what was with the whole 'you're going to see the man of your dreams' bologna then if you didn't really mean it?" asked Lyra.
"Oh, that, well I have to have ponies believe that I truly CAN see into the future or else they'll stop hiring me. So I do a little research to see what most ponies want in their life at the moment ,and then I tell them that their going to receive it in their future. Most ponies will believe you if you tell them that their going to get what they want, and right now my research shows that most ponies just want a special some pony in their life," Myra explained.
Lyra was shocked. "so you've been scamming ponies into thinking they're going to find true love?"
Myra looked down in embarrassment, "well, when you put it that way it just sounds bad."
"That's because it is!" Lyra yelled.
"Myra" Celestia said, catching both ponies attention. "I understand you want to find yourself work using your illusion magic, believe me, I've seen many unicorns who wanted to find jobs with that particular use of magic. But to use your magic to give ponies false hopes in exchange for their bits is wrong. you see that, don't you?"
Myra looked down in shame. "yes princess, I'm sorry."
Celestia placed a hoof on Myra's chin and gently lifted her head up. "I believe some pony else deserves an apology as well," she said, nodding to Lyra.
Lyra was facing to her sister, she sat on her hunches on and her fore legs crossed.
Myra sighed, "Lyra, I'm sorry I lied to you about being a fortune teller. I just thought that-" she stopped suddenly. Myra's eyes began to bulge, and she grabbed on to her neck as if she was choking.
"Uh, Myra, you were saying?" Lyra asked, staring at her sister.
Her sister did not reply, instead, she fell to the floor and began shaking madly as if she was having a seizure.
Lyra rolled her eyes, "oh HA, HA, very funny Myra, but we already know its a trick so you can stop now."
Myra did not stop, instead, her eyes rolled to the back of her head, she tightened her fore hoofs around her throat as if something was lodged in, her body shook, twisted and turned in a seizure like manner.
Celestia quickly went to her side. "Lyra! She's not faking! I think something's wrong with her!".
Lyra looked at her sister with concern, she was terrified, she didn't know what was wrong with her sister.
"Wh-what do I do!?!" Lyra shouted.
"Call in the guards! quickly!" said Celestia.
Suddenly, Myra gasped. She stopped shaking and stared at Celestia, and Celestia saw that her eyes no longer color. Her pupils were still their, but they were empty, as if she was no longer conscious. She took in a deep breath of air before speaking.
"The pits of anger will expose its flame! And engulf even the most kind of hearts in its core!" said Myra.
Myra spoke, but it wasn't Myra's voice anymore. It had been replace by a voice that sounded like a demented old lady with asthma.
Myra took in a deep breath of air before continuing. "And when the kind heart has fallen into angers flame-" Myra took a deep breath. "He will enter the pit itself, and accept his fate-"Myra took a deep breath. "And when the kind heart has chosen his fate, he will posses the power to destroy even the sun itself!" Myra took a deep breath. "For the pits are STRONG! And the once kind heart is STRONGER!" This time, Myra gasped as she inhaled more air. "The DAWN! The dawn is BREAKING!" she inhaled again. "He must be stopped, while his heart is still kind! For it will soon burn to the fire that is made from angers pit, and when it does-" she inhaled deeply once more. "It will be too late, and the dawn, the dawn, shall, BREAK!!!" She inhaled deeply, before shutting her eyes and blacking out.
Celestia stared at Myra before returning to her senses. She deactivated the muffle spell and ran to the door.
"GUARDS! GUARDS COME QUICK!" Celestia shouted.
Two guards quickly ran to her, "your highness! What the matter! What's wrong!".
Celestia pointed to Myra, who was lying on the floor with Lyra by her side.
"There's something wrong with her! I need you to take her to the infirmary immediately!" said Celestia.
The two guards nodded and galloped to Myra. One guard lifted her and placed her on the other guards back, they then galloped out of the room and down the hall.
"Is my sister going to be alright?" asked Lyra.
Celestia nodded, "I'm sure your sister will be just fine after a bit of rest".
"But, what just happened? Why did her voice sound all funny? And why was she saying those things?" asked Lyra.
Celestia stuck her head out her door and looked left and right to see if any pony was around. No pony was there. Celestia then closed the door and turned to Lyra.
"I've told you I've lived long enough to tell the difference between seeing into the future and a hoax, correct?" Celestia asked.
Lyra nodded
"Well that, my dear Lyra, was NOT a hoax," said Celestia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I assume you had a good day at school?" asked Celestia.
A couple hours had passed ever since the incident that occurred in Celestia's bed chambers. Lyra had been sent to the infirmary with her sister, and is currently waiting for her to wake up. Celestia stayed for a short while before realizing how much time had passed. The elementary school children were leaving school and Glee would be sent from the school to the front of the castle with the royal coach, just like in the mornings. So Celestia had to leave to walk Glee back to the castle.
When the princess arrived at the front of the castle, she saw Glee hopping up and down with pure excitement.
"I had a super duper GREAT day at school! First, Mr. GreyBurn took us on a field trip to a forest so we can learn about all the different trees their, and while we were looking at all the trees, twilight found a dragonfly! And then, after twilight found it, we all wanted to have real dragons! So we started playing dragons, and we pretended we were flying! And then-" Glee ran out of breath from talking too fast.
Celestia chuckled. "well you certainly sound like you had a very exciting day, why don't you tell me the rest when we get back into the castle?".Glee nodded.
Once back into the castle, Glee told Celestia about everything they had done that day. Learning about tree's, Playing pretend dragons with Twilight, Green Bush, and the other fillies (Glee played the alpha dragon since he was the tallest out of all the fillies, he was even taller then the teacher Mr.GrayBurn), having a picnic in the woods, and so on and so forth.
Glee had been talking nonstop about his day for a good ten minutes before he stopped and went silent. Then he asked Celestia, "mommy, am I a dragon?"
"What makes you think you're a dragon?" asked Celestia.
"Well, I'm bigger than all the other fillies at school, and I don't walk on all fours, and I don't have hoofs. I know I'm not a pony, so does that mean I'm a dragon?" asked Glee.
Celestia didn't know how to respond. No he was not a pony, he walked on two legs, had arms, and no fur. Yet, he also wasn't a dragon, he walked on two legs and had arms like a dragon, but he also had hair, something dragons didn't have. He also had skin, not scales like most dragons tend to have. He had feet like a dragon, but he didn't have claws, he can hold things like a dragon with claws, but she didn't know what they were exactly.
One of the biggest things Celestia noticed that made Glee different from both ponies and dragons was that Glee needed clothes. Clothes were usually worn to formal events, and during cold weather, and whenever a pony just felt like wearing clothes. She wasn't exactly sure when dragons wore clothes. They weren't the 'formal type' so they generally don't wear formal clothing, and they usually lived in damp caves or hot active volcanoes so keeping clothes in those conditions seemed a bit unlikely. Glee on the other hand HAD to wear clothes. Celestia and the doctors found out he needed clothes when Glee was old enough to stop using diapers. If Glee didn't wear clothes then, well, lets just say Glee would feel a bit embarrassed when ever he tried to walk outside.
He also didn't eat like a dragon or a pony. Ponies ate fruits and plants, dragons ate fruits as well but instead of plants they ate minerals such as diamonds and gems. Glee ate fruit, but after a bit of research it turns out that Glee also ate meat. So, in order to provide Glee with the nutrients he needed to survive, the castle staff made special meat substitutes just for him. Its healthy for Glee but poisonous to ponies.
Celestia has tried to find out what Glee was, but no amount research shows that his species has ever even existed before. Glee truly was the only one of his kind, Celestia didn't know whether he was the first or the last of his kind though.
Celestia sighed. "no, you are not a dragon Glee, nor are you a pony."
"But what am I then?" Glee asked.
Celestia gave Glee a hug. "you are you, Glee Sunrise. You don't have to be a pony or a dragon, you are perfect just the way you are."
Glee smiled. "But is there any pony else like me?"
"Um.." said Celestia. She quickly tried to think of the best words for this question.
Suddenly a guard appeared. "Your highness, she's awake," said the guard.
"Good, I'll be on my way," said Celestia.
The guard nodded then walked off.
"Glee, I have some business to attend to, why don't you head off to room and start your homework?" said Celestia.
"But, Mr.GrayBurn said that since todays the first day we don't have to do homework. Ooh! Can I come watch you do your work instead?" asked Glee excitedly.
"I'm sorry Glee, but this is very important business that I have to attend. If you don't have homework then why don't you go play in the garden?" said Celestia.
Glee frowned, "O.K. I'll go play in the garden." His smile quickly returned. "Ooh! I can play with my new ball!" Glee ran down the hall to retrieve his ball.
Celestia chuckled as she made her way to the infirmary.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Celestia entered the infirmary. She saw Lyra standing next to her sister in the bed furthest to the back.
"Hello Myra, how are you feeling?" asked Celestia.
"I feeling just fine, thank you," said Myra, giving the princess a smile.
Celestia looked out the window next to them. "You have a lovely view of the garden," said Celestia.
Myra nodded, "yes, it is a very nice garden, you work in them don't you Lyra?"
"I just work at the cherry trees, their at the back of the garden so you won't see them," said Lyra.
The princess then stepped closer to Myra. "I hate having to ask you questions, since you've only just woken up, but this is very important. I hope you don't mind?" asked Celestia.
"Not at all your highness, you can ask me anything," said Myra.
"Very well, in that case tell me, do you remember anything that happened after you apologized to me?" asked Celestia.
Myra scratched her head thinking, "well, I remember apologizing to you, then I went to apologize to Lyra, and then... nothing. I don't remember anything after that" said Myra.
"You don't remember anything? Anything at all? No voices, or visions, or anything of that sort?" asked Celestia.
Myra thought for a second before replying, "well, now that you mention it, I remember feeling like something was trying to get into my head, like it was trying to force itself into me," she explained.
"Now, do you remember saying anything? Anything at all?" Celestia asked.
"No not really, but I do remember this one word though, and I'm not sure what it means. Plus, I don't even remember saying it, or thinking it!" said Myra, a little concerned at this point.
"And what was that word Myra?" Celestia asked.
"Dawn Breaker," Myra replied.
Lyra looked at the princess with a worried expression. Celestia looked concerned.
Myra noticed this and asked, "what? What's the matter? What does it mean? Did something happen after I blacked out?"
Lyra looked to the princess, "should I tell her Celestia?" Lyra asked.
"Yes you may, she has the right to know, but I need you and your sister to promise me that everything that has happen must remain a secret, understand?" asked Celestia. Both mares agreed and Lyra then began to tell Myra everything that had happened.
'Dawn Breaker. what did that mean?' The princess thought about what the voice had said. 'Pits of anger, flames from the pit engulfing the kind heart?' None of it made sense, but whatever it was, it didn't sound good.
She tried to go over and over again on what the voice had said in her mind, but it still didn't make any sense. She looked at a clock that hung above the infirmary door. 7:30, Time to set the sun, she thought. Great, she had to deal with everything that's happened today and she couldn't even have sleep to look forward too because of those blasted nightmares... wait, the dreams, OF COURSE!
What if the dreams and what the voice had said were related somehow.
He will enter the pit itself, and accept his fate. "he", then this must mean a man is going to enter a pit and accept his fate. But why would he enter a pit? Is he killing himself? no, the voice never mentioned anything that remotely sounded like suicide. The pit that this man entered in was called the pit of anger. She knew Equestria like the back of her hoof and she had never heard of such a place. Unless, that place doesn't exist, because its a metaphor! And when the kind heart has chosen his fate , he will posses the power to destroy even the sun itself!
That's it! The kind heart is the man! And the man has accepted anger as his fate! It all makes sense!
The man in her dreams! Why he always looked so angry! Its because something had happened, something that angered the kind man so bad that it changed him! But, something else still didn't make sense.
The voice said that the man had the power to destroy even the sun itself. But that wasn't possible, to physically destroy something that was bigger than their own planet? Even the strongest ponies in all of history put together couldn't do it.
Power to destroy the sun? this made no sense... unless, this was a metaphor too.
In all the dreams that the man appears in, he attacks her. And the most information she could get from the man was that she had done something to him; something to anger him.... something to anger him!
But, that could only mean that whatever had cause the kind man to change was because of her! She angered him, and now he wanted to attack her; to destroy her, for he was strong enough to destroy even the sun itself.
That's why he attacks her. He's trying to destroy the sun for angering him. She lifted the sun and moon every day, but only because Luna wasn't here to raise the moon herself. That's it! That's what the metaphor means! The man is destroying the sun... and she WAS the sun.
"Then Celestia called the guards and they took you too the infirmary, then four hours later you woke up and here we are" said Lyra. She had just finished explaining to Myra everything that had happened.
Myra gaped at her sister in disbelief. "But, why would I say those things? I don't even know what any of it means," said Myra.
"It would seem to me that a new prophecy has been created," said Celestia.
Lyra and Myra looked at the princess confused. "Forgive me your highness, but I seem to have not heard you properly. For a second there it seemed like you said a 'new prophecy has been created' ," said Myra.
"You did not miss hear me Myra, I did in fact say that a new prophecy has been created. Although, I hope I am wrong," said Celestia.
"Princess, what do you men a new prophecy has been created? Are you saying my sister really DID predict the future?" asked Lyra.
Celestia sighed, "I wish your sister had simply seen into the future, but this is more than that. Seeing into the future is a near impossible process, it takes very powerful ponies to even see seconds of the future. But if one does succeed into seeing the future, then they have just witness something that hasn't happened yet, something that could be or would be. But it could be changed.
A prophecy however works differently. It is more than just seeing into the future, it is seeing into events that is permanently place into our future. In other words, when a pony does see into the future with a prophecy, then they have just witness a future that is meant to happened, thus, it cannot be changed."
"But, I didn't see anything," said Myra.
"Yeah, she didn't see anything, all we heard was a bunch of scary ghost words," said Lyra.
"Prophecy can come in many forms, whether it be with words, writing, pictures, and under rare occasions, images," said Celestia.
"So, you think that my sister just told a prophecy?" asked Lyra.
"Perhaps, but there's the chance that this might not even be a prophecy at all," said Celestia
"If it wasn't a prophecy, then what was it then?" asked Myra.
"I'm not too sure, these sort of thing's are always confusing, you never really know if its a prophecy or not until it actually happens." 'That and the fact that Myra is still alive just proves that this might not be a prophecy' thought Celestia. 'Prophecies are very difficult to find, and could be dangerous if found. For a pony to receive a prophecy mentally takes a lot of power. if you're too weak, then telling the prophecy is the last thing you will ever do before death. Even Star Swirl the Bearded didn't predict a prophecy unscathed'."
"So, prophecy or not, what does any of it mean then?" asked Lyra.
"I have my suspicions, but there's something I'd like to ask of you Lyra, in private please," said Celestia.
"Uh, sure princess, you can ask me anything," said Lyra.
lyra was about to leave before turning to her sister, "I'm sorry about everything that's happened, I hope you feel better."
"Thanks Lyra, I'm sure I'll be fine, just a bit tired that's all. But don't worry about me, you should go see what the princess wants, it seems important" said Myra.
Lyra gave Myra a hug then turned to the door. "I'll see you later, love you!"
Myra smiled and waved to her sister as Celestia and Lyra left the infirmary.
Celestia and Lyra walked down the hall for a bit before turning to an empty room.
"So, what do you want to talk to me about princess?" asked Lyra.
Celestia checked to see if any pony was in the hall before locking the door.
"There's something I need you to do for me Lyra, and its very important that you tell no pony else, can you do that?" asked Celestia.
"Sure princess, I won't tell any pony, but by any chance, does this have to do with the prophecy? Or the not so prophecy? Honestly, I don't know what to call it, it all sounded so confusing to me," asked Lyra.
"Yes, it some what does have something to do with the prophecy. This may sound a bit confusing, but along with your normal work as the cherry gardener, I need you to start keeping a close eye on Glee for me. Can you do that?" ask Celestia.
Lyra looked confused, "Well, yeah I can watch Glee for you, but does he have to do with the.... hold on, you don't think he has anything to do with the prophecy, do you?" asked Lyra.
Celestia didn't answer immediately, she looked out the window into the garden, then back at Lyra again. "It is merely a precaution, just to make sure nothing bad really does happen."
Lyra couldn't believe what she was hearing, "but Glee's just a little boy! He hasn't done anything wrong! I've seen him play with the other fillies, I've seen him try to help the staff with their chores, I've seen him be kind and sweet and never rude to others! He hasn't done anything wrong! How could you even consider him being part of all this?" asked Lyra, struggling to keep her voice from rising.
Celestia looked back at the window again before answering Lyra, "The prophecy said to stop him while his heart is still kind, before he changes."
"You think Glee's going to change?" asked Lyra.
"No, I believe Glee will grow up to become a young, healthy, responsible gentleman. That's what I believe, and you think so to, don't you?" asked Celestia.
Lyra thought for a moment before nodding.
"We both believe Glee will grow up kind and proper, but what if we're wrong?" asked Celestia.
Lyra didn't answer, she didn't know what to say.
Celestia walk closer to Lyra and placed a hoof on her shoulder, "I know it may not seem like the right thing to do, but you can't deny that something is different about Glee. And believe you me, I hope that this prophecy thing is just a fluke, and we can all go back to our normal lives. Until then however, we just need to keep a close watch on him. Can you do that?" asked Celestia.
"Yes princess, I'll help keep an eye on him," said Lyra.
"Good, I better go and set the sun then," said Celestia. She turned to the window again, staring.
"Uh, princess, what do you keep looking at?" asked Lyra.
The princess didn't answer, she galloped to the window at full speed and forced the window open. She look left, right, up, and down as if looking for some pony.
She closed the window and returned to Lyra. "its nothing, I just felt we were being watched, that's all. We should get going, before every pony begin to realize the sun's been out for too long" said Celestia.
"You've been awfully quiet tonight Glee, are you feeling alright?" asked Celestia.
Celestia and Glee were both getting ready for bed, Celestia combed her hair as Glee brushed his teeth.
Glee didn't answer.
Celestia looked at Glee concerned. "Glee, is there anything you need to tell me?" she asked.
Glee rinsed of his toothbrush and began to walk out of the bathroom to his room.
"Glee, why aren't you answering me? You know you can tell me anything, you know that don't you?" asked Celestia.
Glee didn't answer, he had his back facing Celestia and his head hung low.
Then, Celestia heard a small sob as Glee slowly turned.
"Glee! What's wrong?" Celestia asked.
Glee ran and hugged Celestia, crying into her chest.
"I don't want to be different! I want to be a pony like you!" Glee cried.
Glee cried into Celestia's chest for a few minutes before speaking again.
"Why am I not a pony mommy? Why am I different?" Glee asked.
Celestia thought for a moment before answering, "I don't know why your not a pony Glee, but I do know this. You can be a dragon, a pony, a dog, a cat, you can be born in any way shape or form. But it doesn't matter how you're born. What matters Is what you make of yourself.
A dragon may seem big and scary, but if he show's a bit of friendship, then any one will love him for who he is."
Glee sniffed and looked at Celestia. "Am I in trouble?" he asked.
"Now why would you be in trouble?" Celestia asked.
Glee shrugged, and Celestia place him on her back. "I think you just need a bit of sleep, that will make you feel better," said Celestia.
Glee yawned, and Celestia took Glee to his room and placed him in his bed.
"Good night Glee, I love you," said Celestia.
"I love you too mommy," said Glee.
Celestia then shut the door and returned to her own room.
There, she rested in her bed and stared at the ceiling.
'Why would Glee think he was in trouble?' Celestia thought. 'Oh well, I'm sure I'll find out in the morning, best get some sleep'.
She then shut off the lights and drifted to sleep.
She galloped as fast as she could, but it was no use. The castles hall wall had no end, it just kept going and going.
"Moooooommmyyyyyyy, where aaaaaaarrree yuooooooo!" called a voice that echoed somewhere down the hall.
She galloped faster, she turned her head to see if she was being fallowed. She saw a shadow in the distance, but she couldn't tell who it was; the smoke was too thick.
"I'm coming closer mommy," the voice called again, indeed sounding closer.
Celestia continued to galloped at full speed, until she came across a dead end. The hall had suddenly stopped, and there were no doors to connected to continue moving. She was trapped.
"I just want you to love me mommy," the voice called out.
Celestia tried to find a way to escape, but it was no use. She tried to use her magic, but that didn't work as well. She tried to fly, hoping to break through the wall, but it was another failure.
"Why don't you love me mommy? I love you, why don't you love me? Is it because I'm different?"
Celestia froze, the voice had change from dark and grunge to sweet and kind at the last words. She turned and saw Glee standing their, with tears in his eyes.
"Glee" said Celestia. She reached a hoof out, hoping to hug him.
Glee stared at the princess before snickering, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out the empty sword handle. He pressed the button and released the flaming blade that was held within the handle. His face lit up from the flame, and Celestia saw a scar on Glee's right cheek, in the shape of an 'X'.
"Glee?" said Celestia.
He raised the sword over his head. "You must have me mistaken for someone else" said Glee, with a sinister smile.
He attacked.
