You have just arrived to Ponyville in the train. You step outside, and you feel excited once you step out of the station with your green saddlebags supplied with bits, food and flower-seeds. You think about all the new ponies you are about to meet, and grin as you think that maybe this time, you’ll get to find the one mare, your super-special-somepony. With a determined grin, you slip on your grey fedora, and take your first step into Ponyville. You stroll your way through Ponyville and take in the fresh afternoon air on this wonderful sunny day. You hum a lovely tune to yourself, the one that you always sing and play for some odd reason, but you never question it. You trot, feeling like nothing can stand in the way. As you roam through the town, you find yourself not surrounded by large buildings and long lines of taxis, but instead see small, one or two story houses and tons of shops and ponies all roaming about. They all look happy, just as you are. They’re all talking to one another, laughing, and enjoying one another’s company. It wasn’t long before you meet your first one in town. “Hi!” says a sudden voice. You turn around to find a pink mare with a darker pink mane, and three balloons as her cutiemark. “You’re new here, sir?” she asks. You nod. “I’m Pinkie Pie, what’s your name?” she introduces herself, and holds out a hoof for a hoof-shake. You take her hoof, and tell her your name. “Violet? Cool name! So, you moving here?” she asks. You explain to her that you just moved here from Manehatten for a ‘fresh-start’. She nods with a smile. “So, which place are you moving to?” Pinkie asks. You freeze, realizing that you may have forgotten to pick what home is going to be yours. You tell her that you might have forgotten to buy a house. “Don’t worry, silly; I forget stuff too! Here, I’ll show you around, I know everypony here and I know where everything is!” she offers. You accept it. Pinkie leads the way, as she shows you around town. She shows you the town-hall, the stores, the parks, and even some wells that she mentions had had more foals fall in there than you would think. “I did?” she asks suddenly. “Oh… I see what’s going on here! So this is a Fanfiction?” you… have no idea what she’s talking about. “So, you don’t speak, are you? I guess you let the narrator do more of the talking?“ she asks. You give her a puzzling look. She shrugs. “Oh… never mind, I’ll roll with it.” she says with a cherry smile. You chuckle. You may have just got here, but you sure have caught on to what they always say in Ponyville in times like these; ‘She’s just being Pinkie Pie’. After the tour, you finally buy yourself a house, and settle in and unpack. It’s empty when you enter, with an exception of some furniture and a few empty frames. Just the way you like it. There is plenty of room for whatever new treasures and souvenirs you will soon have, and all the flowers you will have on display. It is late now, and you decide to get started on your garden tomorrow, so it’s future-Violet’s problem now. You get in your new bed for the first time, and sleep peacefully until morning. Rose- Day 1Leonardo Oliver Osborn Presents, A Hearts and Hooves Day Special; Hearts and Hooves Day A Second Person Adventure Rose Day 1: A New Filly in Town You are a red coated mare, with a purple mane, and a dark red flower as your Cutie Mark, representing your talent for gardening flowers. You have just arrived to New Appleloosa in the train. You step outside, you feel excited once you step out of the station with your pink saddlebags supplied with bits, food and flower-seeds. You think about all the new ponies you are about to meet, and grin as you think that maybe this time, you’ll get to find the one stallion, your super-special-somepony. With a determined grin, you slip on your tan sun-hat, and take your first step into New Appleloosa. You stroll your way through Appleloosa and take in the fresh afternoon air on this wonderful sunny day. You hum a lovely tune to yourself, the one that always sing and play for some odd reason, but you never question it. You trot, feeling like nothing can stand in the way. As you roam through the town, you find yourself not surrounded by large buildings and long lines of taxis, but instead wooden one or two story houses, shops and bars, and ponies all roaming about. They all look happy, just as you are. They’re all dancing, consuming salt, and pulling horse-drawn carriages. It isn’t long before you meet your first one in town. “Hey,” says a sudden, deep voice. You turn around to find a tan stallion with a dark brown mane, and a cheese sandwich as his cutiemark. He leans on the outer-wall of one of the shops, wearing a black poncho and a dark sombrero. “You’re new here, ma’am?” he asks. You nod. “The name’s Cheese Sandwich,” he introduces himself, and holds out a hoof for a hoof-shake. You take his hoof, and tell him your name. “Rose? Beautiful name. So, you moving here?” he asks. You explain to him that you just moved here from Manehatten for a ‘fresh-start’. He nods. “I myself am new here too. I travel. So, which place are you moving to?” Cheese asks. You freeze, realizing that you may have forgotten to pick what home is going to be yours. You tell him that you might of forgotten to buy a house. “Hmm. Don’t worry; I often manage to learn the ropes of these parks, I can help you find a place to buy,” he offers. You accept it. Cheese leads the way, as he shows you around town. After the search, you finally buy yourself a house, and settle in and unpack. It’s empty when you enter, with an exception of some furniture and a few empty frames. Just the way you like it. There is plenty of room for whatever new treasures and souvenirs you will soon have, and all the flowers you will have on display. It is late now, and you decided to get started on your garden tomorrow, so it’s future-Rose’s problem now. You get in your new bed for the first time, and sleep peacefully until morning. Violet- Day 2Hearts and Hooves Day Violet Day 2: Meet Rarity You wake up. You had a wonderful dream, but forgot what it was, like what happens every time. Not much has changed in your new home yet, but you know there will be some new decorations. You go ahead and plant the seeds you brought in your saddlebag. The sooner, the better. The weather is no longer as sunny, but still warm. The pegasi are now moving the clouds in several places, probably meaning that there will soon be rain today, or perhaps tomorrow Your stomach growls, saying that it’s hungry. It is time for breakfast. You look in your saddlebag for the food you brought, but it was all stale. You thought it was a good idea at the time to bring food while it was ripe, but now it’s too late. You may be a gardener; but you work with flowers, not fruit. You decide to skip breakfast instead, and go out to enjoy some fresh air and maybe a quick walk in the park. Just like yesterday, the ponies are out there shopping or selling- you will soon be one of those ponies, those flowers will grow big enough to sell and you will earn enough bits to shop. You see Pinkie Pie, talking with another pony, and then the two of them wave as they left, finished with the conversation. She walks with her usual smile, and then notices you. “Oh, hey Violet! Whatcha’ doin’ today?” she asks. You tell her you’re not doing much, and that you were on your way to the park. “Ohhhh…. sounds fun! Mind if I come? I was planning on going there today anyway!” Pinkie asks, and you figure, why not? You tell her she can come, then your stomach growls suddenly. “Did you skip breakfast?” Pinkie asks. She seems to have heard it too. You tell her that the food you brought went stale, and that you are a bit low on bits to buy some more. “Oh, I see. Well, I had, but it was just a few cupcakes. How about we get some lunch first at that outdoor restaurant I showed you! It’s on me!” she offers. You tell her that it’s rather a bit too generous. “Come on, it doesn't cost much there anyway. Besides, a friend is always kind to a friend, and you’re my friend- right?” Pinkie assists. Your stomach growls again, and you decide not to argue and accept her offer. *** It didn’t take too long for the waiter to arrive. “What would your order be?” he asks. “I’ll have three grass pancakes, some hey-fries, extra crispy, a sandwich, and the sunday-special, and a glass of apple juice!” says Pinkie. You just order a daffodil-sandwich with water. After the waiter writes some notes, he goes back in to get the chef to prepare the meal. You look around, and see several ponies waiting or eating at a table. You can’t help but feel a bit jealous when you see a stallion and a mare both in a table for two, gazing at one another’s eyes. You wish someday that stallion will be you. “So, are you planning on opening a shop around here?” Pinkie asks. You tell her that you plan to open a small flower stand, and that you once owned a whole flower store in Manehatten. “So what happened to that?” Pinkie asks. You tell her that somepony else opened another flower shop, and ran yours down. Your competitor sold better flowers and had every kind of flower a pony could dream of. “So you moved here to start over?” Pinkie asks. You tell her ‘yes’. “Well I’m sure you’ll do better than you did in your last place! And I’ll be your first customer!” Pinkie replies with a smile. You smile back, and tell her that you’ll give her the first flower, free. Pinkie chuckles. “Awww… you won’t have to, that’s the nicest of all nice things a Pony has ever done! EVER!” she exclaims. You joke with her that you change your mind, that instead she’ll have to pay double. You both laugh, but you quiet down the moment you saw, not something, but somepony. In the distance you see a shining, white unicorn mare, with a long, well groomed purple mane, that has bright blue eyes, and three rare diamonds as her cutiemark. You sigh, she is the most beautiful creature in all of Equestria… “Violet… Violet…~ Hello…~! Violet, you there?” you suddenly start to hear Pinkie’s voice, and realize that she is waving her hoof in front of your large muzzle. “Earth to Violet! Earth to Violet! Celestia, I think we have a problem.” Pinkie continues, and you snap out of your fantasy. “Oh, there you are! You weren't home for a moment there,” Pinkie explains with a laugh. “What made you drift away like that? Is it something I said?” she asks. You point over to the unicorn you gazed at, and ask if Pinkie knew her name. Pinkie answers, “Oh, silly; I know everypony! That’s Rarity.” You repeat her name, ‘Rarity’, soothed by the very sound of it, and continue to gaze at her while she shops. “Ohhhh…. I think somepony’s in loooove” Pinkie exclaims with fluttering eyes, and makes a kissy sound and puckers her lips. You shake your head and land back in reality, and object, feeling embarrassed. “Yes you are!” she says. You tell her you're not, then she argues back with the same statement, and you both go back and forth until you both start saying the opposite things. You tell her that you are in love, and that that was final. “Okay, okay, sheesh. I get it, you're in love; so what?” she asks, acting as if that was the argument, but you seem to be unable to remember rather you were saying you were or not. Pinkie Pie… is good. You continue to look at the unicorn, who was now talking to some other pony (and it’s another mare, no need to worry). You address Pinkie, and her ear perks up with a hum. You hesitate, and stammered, trying to ask a question about Rarity. “Don’t worry, she’s single,” Pinkie answers, even know you struggled to ask, but it was exactly what you were thinking about. “And she’s so into stallions, and is still looking for one.” Pinkie added. You ask if you're the kind of colt she’ll like. “Well, she is more into the more clean and fancy-shmancy stallions,” Pinkie explains. “She’s more of a Canterlot pony, really. She even wants to live there!” she adds. You lift your front hooves onto your head, feeling your mane since there wasn’t a mirror or any sort of reflection in sight- you do have a well-groomed mane, must be the kind Rarity likes. “Yes, your mane is fine,” Pinkie tells you. “Ohhh! Rarity had always wanted a stallion! You’d be the right one for her! Oh! I know! I’ll introduce you right away-!” Pinkie exclaims, but before she runs off, you grab her by the tail and tell her to wait a moment. You don’t want to be straightforward, you want to move a bit slowly. Besides, considering how Pinkie is acting, she might scare her off! She might make you look weird, or creepy, or worse! You tell her that you don’t want to meet Rarity yet, that you want to just sleep on this and figure something out. “Aww… that’s boring! What if you’ll never talk to her, and Rarity will never meet you, andyoubothwillbelonely,foreverandever,andRaritywillbecomeoldandbecomethatcat-ladywho’salwaysaloneandwillneverhaveasuper-special-somepony, and then-” Pinkie starts to ramble, but then you shove your hoof in her mouth, and tell her to calm down. You let go, and she takes several large breaths. You explain to her that you will figure something out, and that you will think it through. You get up to leave. “Wait!” Pinkie says. “Aren't you going you finish your sandwich?” she asks. Your sandwich is only half eaten. You tell her you’ll need a walk, and allow her to finish your meal for you. *** You spend the rest of your day leaning on a tree, watching foals play and some lucky-pairs all having picnics or just lying next to each other or walking side-by-side. Hearts and Hooves Day is coming, you realize. You take a mental note to get yourself a calendar, then start to ponder on some other things. You think about how you always did wanted a mare to be with, somepony to share the rest of your life with, somepony to be there for you always. You thought about the ponies you envy, all those happy couples. Eventually, the sun falls down, and it starts to get dark. You at first wonder where Pinkie was the whole time, but think maybe she started to have a conversation with some other pony and became busy for the rest of the day, considering how she’s friends with everypony around here. You decided to walk back home to rest, the air now feeling cold, and it was probably going to rain any second now, all the rain clouds floating throughout the sky. You trot home, and lay in your bed to rest. You find it difficult to sleep, your thoughts swirling about Rarity. You had seen some pretty mares here and there, and Pinkie herself doesn't look that bad herself, but Rarity is the most beautiful of them all, no doubt. You couldn’t lay a hoof on how or why, you just had this sudden spark that made you fall in love right on first sight. You hug your pillow, wishing it was Rarity that was in your arms. Before you know it, you’re already asleep. Rose- Day 2Hearts and Hooves Day Rose Day 2: Meet Braeburn You wake up. You had a wonderful dream, but forgot what it was, like what happens every time. Not much has changed in your new home yet, but you know there will be some new decorations. You go ahead and plant the seeds you brought in your saddlebag. The sooner, the better. The weather is still as sunny, and still warm. There are no pegasi to move the clouds to control the weather. Your stomach growls, saying that it’s hungry. It is time for breakfast. You look in your saddlebag for some food you brought, but it was all stale. You thought it was a good idea at the time to bring food while it was ripe, but now it’s too late. You may be a gardener; but you work with flowers, not fruit. You decided to skip breakfast instead, and went out to enjoy some fresh air and maybe a quick walk through town. Just like yesterday, the Ponies are out there dancing or eating salt- you will soon own a shop, those flowers will grow big enough to sell and you will earn enough bits to shop. You see Cheese, talking with the sheriff, and the two of them tapped their hats before they left, finished with their conversation. He walks up dramatically with his usual serious look, and then notices you. “Oh, hey Rose. You planning anything today?” he asks. You tell him you’re not doing much, and that you were on your just walking. “Hmm. Sounds nice. Mind if I come? I was planning on exploring the place myself.” Cheese asks, and you figure; why not? You tell him he can come, then your stomach growls suddenly. “Did you skip breakfast?” Cheese asks, he seems to have heard it too. You tell him that the food you brought went stale, and that you are a bit low on bits to buy some more. “Oh, I see. Well, I had, but it was just a really… really… dry biscuit. How about we get some lunch first at The Salt-Licks. It’s on me.” he offers. You tell him that is rather a bit too generous. “Come on, it doesn't cost much there anyway. Besides, a friend is always kind to a friend, and your my friend- right?” Cheese assists, his voice sounding cheery suddenly. Your stomach growls again, and you decided not to argue and accept her offer. “Okay, My Little Pony; it’s off to The Salt Licks.” he says in his deep voice once again. *** It didn’t take too long for the bartender to arrive. “What would your order be?” he asks. “What do you think? I’ll go with some salt. Extra salty!” Cheese orders. You wanted to order a daffodil-sandwich with a water, but settled with the same thing Cheese is having. After the bartender slid the rocks of salt, you look around, and see several Ponies waiting or licking salt at a table. You couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous when you saw a stallion and mare both dancing to the music from the piano, gazing at one another’s eyes. You wish someday that mare could be you. “So, are you planning on opening a shop around here?” Cheese asks after taking a big lick. You tell him that you plan to open a small flower stand, and that you once owned a whole flower store in Manehatten. “So what happened to that?” Cheese asks. You tell him that somepony else opened another flower shop, and ran your’s down. Your competitor sold better flowers and had every kind of flowers a Pony could dream of. “So you moved here to start over?” Cheese asks. You tell him ‘yes’. “Well I’m sure you’ll do better than you did in your last place. And I’ll be your first costamore!” Cheese replies with a smile, his voice suddenly sounding cheery again. You smile back, and tell him that you’ll give him the first flower, free. Cheese chuckles. “You won’t have to, but that’s nice of you.” he says. You joke with him that you change your mind, that instead he’ll have to pay double! You both laugh, but you quiet down the moment you saw, not someone, but somepony. In the distance you see a bright tan coated earthpony stallion, with bright green eyes, and has a long, flaming golden mane, with a cowpony hat to cover a bit of it and an apple for his cutiemark. You sigh, he is the most handsome colt in all of Equestria… “Rose… Rose…~ Hello...!? Rose, you there?” you suddenly start to hear Cheese’s voice, and realize that he is waving his hoof in front of your small muzzle. “Earth to Rose! Earth to Roset! Luna, I think we have a problem.” Cheese Sandwich continues, and you snap out of your fantasy. “Oh, there you are! You weren't home for a moment there.” Cheese explains with a chuckle. “What made you drift away like that? Is it something I said?” he asks, once again in his cheery voice. You point over to the earthpony you gazed at, and ask if Cheese knew his name. “Oh, that’s Braeburn Apple.” Cheese Sandwich answers. “I’ve meet him.” he added. You repeated his name, ‘Braeburn’, soothed by the very sound of it, and continued to gaze at him while he walked by. “Oh, I see what’s happening now. I saw this one comin’. You’re in love with that colt, aren't you?” Cheese asks. You shake your head and land back in reality, and object, feeling embarrassed. “Yes you are.” Cheese Sandwich replies. You try to argue, but sigh, and gazed back at Braeburn before he left your sight. You address Cheese Sandwich, and his ear perks up with a hum. You hesitate, and stammered, trying to ask a question about Braeburn. “Don’t worry, he’s single.” Cheese answers, even know you struggled to ask, but it was exactly what you were thinking about. “And he’s inta’ mares, alright. And is still lookin’ fer’ one.” The bartender added. You ask if you're the kind of mare he’ll like. “Well, he is more int’a the more none-prissy kinda’ mares, you know.” The bartender explains. “He’s your typical Apple, alright. Always hard workin’. He don’t want no fancy stuff, and he definitely won’t go fer’ a mare who’s fussy bout’ that stuff.” he adds. You look at the reflection on your mug, your mane a bit curly, yet not perfectly clean. “Yes, your mane is fine.” Cheese tells you. “Ya’ know, there’s been talk that he’s been wantin’ a mare. Ah’m sure he’ll want ya’.” says another stallion who you assume knows Braeburn as well. You thought about just ‘Going for it’ and just waltz up to him and talk to him right away, but didn’t want to be straightforward, you wanted to move a bit slowly. You figure that you don’t want to meet Braeburn yet, that you want to just sleep on this and figure something out. You say that you had enough salt, even know you haven’t taken a single lick of it. You figure you’ll figure something out, and that you will think it through. You get up to leave. “Wait!” Cheese calls. “Aren't you going you finish your salt?” he asks.
You tell him you’ll need a walk, and allowed him to finish your salt for you. *** You spend the rest of your day leaning on a tree, watching some lucky-pair walking side-by-side.
