Chapter 1 - I'm not stuck in here with you...
A New Ruler
"Halt!", it shouted. It was an odd creature, it was cover in a black bug-like skin, chitin, with glowing blue eyes, its armor was made by the same material, creepy, he looked ready, ready to run me through with the misshaped spear in hand, despite me being double his size, he stood on two legs like any normal being, but he was just so small and thin. As he hissed and growled, I found that his fangs and teeth were broken yet he still challenged me, he was brave for being in this condition, but he was a nuisance.
I walked down the massive hole, walking away from the green bloody mess at the entrance, the amount of light in these tunnels was little to none, but I continued to walk down those dirt walls leaving behind an unseen mess of limbs and entrails, not mine of course.
The Queen was, well, she was a fool. She couldn't run her underground kingdom correctly, she sent her workers off to do things they never trained for, miners had to become scientist on the spot and show results or be beheaded, it was down right stupid. I never said anything of course, all I said was that I was here to assist in making her hive bigger, stronger, and more grand than any other kingdom on this planet. She liked the ideas I gave her, but she did not like me and she had me thrown in a cell.
Months have gone by and these creature, Changelings I remember them calling themselves, were growing thin, they were starving and what ever sustenance they ate is either gone or somewhere else. The very wall themselves were falling apart, my own cell walls crumbled to pieces when I touched it, it was easy getting to the queen, her servants, workers, and guards just watched as I passed by them, they knew what was to come, they knew they needed a new queen.
I had challenged her to a fight for the the kingdom, she instead ordered her guards to attack me, but they didn't move.
She was furious as I laughed at her, "your servants are no longer yours, why would they? A queen who can't run her kingdom effectively, or correctly, or keep her kingdom fed, has no right to rule." I told told her facts, multiple things wrong with the way she rules, the flaws in her dwindling kingdom, everything. She was past furious, she screamed in anger, and charged at me. The sound of clapping hooves on ground as she ran at me, her twisted horn pointed at me, she spread her buzzing wings and flown to my height, The Queen intended to stab my heart.
The sound of flesh being punctured, the sound of bone being broken, everything was silent. The Queen, smiled at me, but frowned and coughed blood, I had stabbed her as well, but unlike her horn the never punctured my chitin, mine had gone through her's. She looked up at me struggling with the blood flowing out of her body and down my tail, we were face to face, but now she had a hole in her head. I retracted my inner jaws and tail, letting her body plummet.
"Your foolish queen is dead, I will rule in her place and as such, will make this kingdom stronger than any other other!" I announced.
The Changeling mumble, and whispered not sure of what to do. After a while I came back with 3 eggs I had made in my cell.
"Now," I said showing off an egg hatching, "who wants to be reborn?"
