Previous Chapter

Applejack fell limp in a cave. She had been running for the hole day crying and she needed a long break. She could feel her heart beat against her chest and her breath fight to get in and out of her lungs, she hadn't been running like that since the last years running of the leaves with Rainbow Dash, but still. It was a long good run.

The cave was defiantly old and had probably been used too mining. She could tell by the rails and wooden pillars that stood to hold the cave up. Applejack slowly rises again as this cave made her wonder. How long have this cave been out? She wanted to take a step forward but fell as her legs couldn't hold her.

"get up..." She whispered, as a small slice hate filled her. But she quickly gave up when she was forced to lay down and relax. She almost fell asleep as she was laying there. But at last she had calmed herself and was able to stand.

She got up, ready to find out more about this cave that looked abandon. She started walking inward where she could actually see a small piece of light.

"Sister! He has returned!" Luna yelled as she ran into Celestia's bed room.

Celestia turned and faced Luna, she had been reading a new letter from Twilight, saying one of her friends had gone missing for the entire day. "What?! How?" Celestia asked, almost yelled. When either a guard or Luna or anyone in general came screaming that something had returned, and it was almost always bad news.

"King Sombra..." Luna answered lowering her head a little as she panted as if she had been running.

"What?! Send a letter to the crystal empire, I will send a letter to Twilight." Celestia commanded as she got ready to write the second letter to Twilight about the dark king.

"He isn't attacking the empire this time, he is coming after... Her..." Luna said stopping her sister in her tracks as she hurried to write the letter.

Celestia looked at the wall. Her? had it really been so many years since she couldn't remember who exactly how her was. Instead Celestia send her sister a look of confusion.

Luna sighed in frustration and answered she sister unspoken question. "His daughter!"

Celestia's mind quickly flashed the child they had found in his dark crystal castle, a small flashback flashed before her eyes.

Celestia wandered into a random room in the dark castle. She and Luna had lost Sombra somewhere in the castle, so they separated to find him. As Celestia entered the room she saw a huge difference from the rest of the castle. This room had the old blue crystals, it was way more happily, joyful. "why would he have just one joyful room?" She thought out loud. But then she noticed the furniture as well. They were rather childish, it was toys on the floor and.... a crib.

Just as she was going to look in this crib, she heard Luna's voice in her mind, sending her a mental message. Sister! where are you? I think I know where he is, I hear someone talking right next to me. Celestia quickly replied.

I do not know where I am, but I found something strange. Teleport yourself to me. She finished. Seconds later Luna appeared right next to her.

"What is it sister?" Luna asked, before she trailed off as she looked around the room. "What kind of room is this?" she asked, she looked at Celestia for answer, but when she saw that her sister wasn't paying attention and instead was looking at this one furniture.

Celestia stepped forward toward the crib, slowly she glanced down at whatever that could be there. To her surprise, a sleeping foal.

"What is it?" Luna asked, standing behind Celestia still. Instead of answering with words, Celestia lifted the foal with her magic. "A... A... a child!" Luna stammered.

Celestai looked at the foal and took in her features. A bright orange coat with a golden sun coloured mane. "What is she doing here?" she asked, right before a dark shadow moved and took the foal out of her magic. The shadow landed in the roof corner, two shadow arms moved the foal down to the crib again, then it turned back to them and threw itself at them.

"I can't remember much of her, all I remember is her colours." Celestia said low with her hoof at her mouth. She felt a little ashamed that she didn't know more, but they didn't get to know her before they were attacked.

"But that is all we need" Luna finished. Giving Celestia a comforting, nice and knowing smile. "Celestia! send a letter!" she said with a grin on her face.

"Don't say that" Celestia said with an annoyed smile before she went to write a new letter to the princess of friendship, requesting her and her friends assistant. Especially the former element of honesty.

Applejack kept walking into this strange cave. She felt like Daring Do that Rainbow Dash always talked about. But finally she was meet by a wall. She sighed, also thinking it was a tiny adventure. Instead Applejack began to walk back toward the exit. But as she walk she felt like something was watching her or at least following her. She turned her head slightly just to see if anything was following her, but nothing.

"huh..." she sighed, before she walked back.

When she came back to the entrance she noticed it had become night-time, and already knowing about what could happen at night in a forest, she decided to stay for the night. "welp, ah ain't going anywhere until morning." she sighed before going into one of the corners of the cave, even on the cold stone floor she fell asleep.

The last thing she heard before she drifted off to dreamland, was the same voice she had been hearing for a while. But this time, it was so more kinder in the tone. Good night, my dear daughter....
