//-------------------------------------------------------// The Great Canterlot Escape -by Dino Days- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// 1 The mare slams into you and you both go tumbling to the floor. When the dust settles, she's lying on top of you, groaning in pain. "Ow... are you alright?" she asks you. You tell her that you're fine, and she slowly gets off of you. Her lilac magic envelopes you as she helps you off the ground. "You should watch where you're standing. Trixie was trying to run here." 'Trixie' is a unicorn mare with a cyan coat and a flowing, silvery mane. She's wearing an odd hat, shaped like a cone, and a cape of some sort. She looks you up and down. "You look fine," she comments. Her eyes widen and she blushes. "As in, you don't look hurt! Not anything else! Um, Trixie has to go somewhere." With that, she takes off running down the hallway once more. >Well that was weird. Oh well, you'd better get to work. Oh well, you'd better get to work. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/4/the-great-canterlot-escape/3) //-------------------------------------------------------// 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// 3 You make your way to the servants' quarters, where you're expected to report and get ready for the long day ahead of you. You clock in for the day and put on your uniform. You wonder where you should go first. You could go to the Day Court and help out around there, and hopefully learn something about pony politics while you're at it. However, today you're feeling especially brave, and feel like you could probably sneak into the Princesses' private quarters and find some helpful information. What do you do? >You should probably play it safe. Going to the Day Court is a safe way of getting information. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/5/the-great-canterlot-escape/4) >Play it safe? Are you kidding? You're a spy! You decide to search the Princesses' rooms. You ask her if she ever goes to the bathroom during Day Court. She looks at you with a bemused expression. "What an odd question. Why do you ask?" >"It's just, I didn't think it was normal for ponies to hold it in for so long." (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/10/the-great-canterlot-escape/4aa) >Shrug it off and deflect the question. "Is there anything I can get you?" "I've had a long time to practice holding it," she answers you. "How is your brother doing, by the way?" she asks, clearly uncomfortable with the current topic. You tell her that he's doing well. Celestia's smile drops, and she motions for the guards. Two guards come up to you and restrain you as another casts a spell. Your disguise drops. As they haul you off to the dungeons, you realize you've been played. You should have done more research on the pony you were mimicking- he doesn't have a brother. YOU LOSE //-------------------------------------------------------// Start //-------------------------------------------------------// Start You are Drone #007. You don't have a name- none of your brothers or sisters do. You are a changeling infiltrator, sent to the bright and happy city of Canterlot to, well, infiltrate. For the past three weeks, you've been using the form of a servant in Canterlot Castle—who is currently residing in a cell back at your hive—to gather information on everything you could about how ponies operated. Your disguise is perfect and your plan sound. And so it was on this bright, sunny Canterlot day that you are walking to work. The birds are singing in the leafy green trees that line the path you trot, and ponies walk by, happy and smiling, oblivious to your true nature. The love many of those ponies share between each other is a suitable breakfast for you as you make your way to the palace. You step up to the beautiful gilded gates of the castle and smile to one of the guards on duty. She smiles back and motions for her partner to open up the gate. You walk through the gate and into the large palace. Marble hallways stretch left and right, and beautiful tapestries hang on the wall. You don't have time to take in the beauty of the castle, however. You hear rapidly approaching hoofsteps coming from your left, and turn just in time to see a blue unicorn pony barreling towards you. What do you do? >She's moving way too fast for you to get out of the way. Stand there and accept your inevitable tackle. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/2/the-great-canterlot-escape/1) >Try to jump out of the way. This blue torpedo won't get you! (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/3/the-great-canterlot-escape/2) //-------------------------------------------------------// 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// 4 You decide to head to the Day Court and observe. After all, there's no point risking your mission so early on. There's a long line-up of ponies outside the Day Court, each and every one of them hoping the Princess will have time to listen to their requests. They are ponies of all sorts- nobles, farmers, the rich and the poor. From the looks on their faces, they've likely been waiting for quite a while already. You slip past them and into the court proper, hearing quite a few grumbles as you do so. The room is large, with stained-glass windows depicting various scenes and marble columns, exquisitely crafted by the best pony artisans in Equestria. At the back of the room is a throne upon which sits the Princess of the Sun, Celestia herself. She is paying every attention to what the pony in front of her is saying. You relieve the servant standing by Celestia's side, who's shuffling on her hooves as though she's anxious to leave. It looks like she's been here for hours already. As she quickly trots away, you wonder how the Princess manages her busy schedule. If the servant is so anxious after a few hours, imagine how the Princess must feel after a whole day! You briefly wonder if the Princess takes bathroom breaks. Celestia says a few words to the pony, who bows and leaves the room. As the next pony makes her way across the large room towards the Princess, you have the perfect opportunity to speak to her. What do you do? >Ask the Princess if she ever goes to the bathroom. If you don't, it will bug you all day. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/7/the-great-canterlot-escape/4a) >Ask the Princess if there's anything you can get for her. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/8/the-great-canterlot-escape/4b) >Say nothing. (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/248160/9/the-great-canterlot-escape/4c)
