The Mysterious Map Leads Us

Twilight Sparkle

The throne room is the only place I can think properly, it has become like a nice big home to me, it's been weeks since the Tree House Library has been destroyed, I still miss it, but now is not the time. I need to review my thoughts with everyone.

The throne room walls were made entirely of crystals and shined brightly when the sun gleamed through the windows high above us.

"Let's go through this one more time, " I said normally as I made my way to my Cutie Mark throne.

Rainbow Dash flew fast to her throne and rolled her eyes, "Ugh! We've been over this like a MILLION times, Twilight! Found all six keys. Defeated Tirek and got this sweet Castle!" she pounded her hoof loudly, "End of Story!"

"Yes, but why?" I wondered aloud. There had to be some kind of answer. I just haven't been given it yet.

"I don't know Sugarcube, maybe it's just your new house and there ain't more to it than that." Applejack's southern twang resonated throughout the room as she sat herself on her throne.

Rarity plumped herself down as well, "I must say, speaking strictly on prosthetic's, there really doesn't need to be more to it. It's all simply divine!"  She swooned, with a big smile on her face.

Fluttershy had already sat down long before Rarity and Applejack, "I agree with Twilight and Rarity and Applejack and Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie." She smiled, then her face fell downward, shyly.  Fluttershy looked over to the purple colored dragon. "Oh!" she realized, "and probably Spike." He snored loudly as Fluttershy finished her sentence. They all chuckled a bit.

"As princess, I've been chosen to spread the magic of friendship across Equestria. So why would the Tree of Harmony want us to sit in a castle in Ponyville? It just doesn't make any sense!" I said reasonably. It was true, why would the Tree of Harmony give me a castle? Would it be important for later or is there something that will come into play in the future?

As I plopped my flank down I noticed the gems above us glow resonating all around us. They made a beautiful resonating sound. The light from the gems shined to the middle of the room, illuminating my cutie mark on the floor from all six corners. The ground begun to shake, I gripped my hooves onto the handles of the throne and watched as something started to break its way through the surface in the middle of the circle. A circular crystal table twisted its way through the surface to greet us. We all gasped in awe.

Spike slowly faded out of his sleep and awoke to the crystal map table sitting in front of him. "Is that new?" Slobber covered his right arm and dried drool dribbled on the side of his mouth. He gazed at the map. I looked at my cutie mark and saw it was missing as it whisked up above us.

Our Cutie Marks went to the middle of the map and revealed locations not seen before on a regular Equestrian map. I saw Celestia's castle and locations even I haven't seen before. It looked like a circular map of Equestria, only with more to it. Spike stepped onto the map and walked to the middle observing the locations. "This is incredible! It's got Equestria and so much more!"

Then the Cutie Marks returned leaving us a map of Equestria.

Pinkie looked down at her rock farm on the map. It looked just like she described it with lots of rocks littered around the farm's front yard. There was a small brown and beige house that sat behind there with a wooden fence surrounding it. On the left side, there was a windmill followed by regular farmer mill. "Hi Mom and Dad!" Pinkie said as Spike stomped his foot over her farm. She gasped and her lip quivered a little bit, tears came across her face. "My home!"

Spike apologized and moved slowly away from her families rock farm. The room filled with awkwardness. He quickly came off the map and came to stand by me.

"I don't know it seems like we'll have to find out. The tree, the chest, this castle, and now the map: how can we not follow it?!" I said.

Rainbow Dash flapped her wings above the map, "You know what? There's a ton of places filled with danger along that route." She saluted me, "Count me in!"

"Ah, shoot. I reckon' you're right," Applejack agreed, she took off her stetson hat, smoothed her hair and put it back on.

"Well, I was going to organize my baking sheets, but okay!" She gleamed, I knew she couldn't resist an adventure.

"Oh, very well," Rarity nodded while looking at Pinkie Pie.

Then everypony turned their attention to Fluttershy, awaiting her answer. "Maybe I'll just stay here with Spike."

"Awesome!" Spike was all geared up in a hoofball helmet with a foam finger. "Me and Big Mac have a huge weekend ahead of us talkin' Hoofball and trading hoofball cards and talking about hoofball stats!"

Fluttershy cringed, then started rethinking her idea. "On second thought, maybe I better go with them," she smiled shyly. "Just me, maybe?" She secretly hoped Spike would stay home with Big Mac.

"Looks like it's time for a road trip!" And we got ready to head out to the door. I don't know how long this adventure will last, but I'm prepared for anything.
