Twilight's New World

Nightmare Moon was sitting on the edge of a cliff looking at the world of Equestria. She had been on the moon for a millennium, and is quite bored of it. She is no longer amused in taking the lives of the ponies who inhabit Equestria by using her Death Note.

A Death Note is a notebook in which the pony whose name is written in it will die. She created it herself after being banished there by the ruler of Equestria Princess Celestia to cope with her boredom of being stuck on the moon. Sadly for her she is no longer amused by taking the lives of the ponies who live in Equestria, and is out of creative idea's on  killing ponies in interesting ways.

"There is nothing left to amuse me on this forsaken moon," she said to herself as she got up from sitting on the cliff.

An idea came to her mind just then. The idea to send a Death Note to the world of Equestria, and see how the ponies who live there will use it. Nightmare Moon thought it was the only way she was gonna get decent entertainment, so she made another Death Note using her magic. She then teleported it to a random location in the world of Equestria.

This should give me the entertainment I so desperately need, she thought.

Twilight Sparkle was in class sitting at her desk with her head resting on her head with a bored look on her face. She knew all the material that was being presented in class today. In fact she knew basically all the material presented in class everyday.

She let out a sigh of boredom.

"Twilight Sparkle would you care to translate the following text to modern Equestrian?" asked the teacher looking directly at the bored Twilight.

Twilight sat up and began to translate the text as she was instructed to do.

"Follow the teachings of Celestia and receive her blessings and so it shall be that the seas will again become bountiful and the raging storms will subside."

"Thanks miss Sparkle," the teacher said returning to his lecture to the class after thanking her.

Twilight sat back down in the same position as before looking out the window. In her field of vision out the window a object seemed to have come out of nowhere and fall to the ground.

Twilight's face then became one of shock as she saw that.

Where did that come from, she mentally said to herself. I got to check it out after class ends.

And with that the bell for her to leave class and go home rang. Instead of going home though she decided to check out the mysterious object that fell from the sky. The object was located in front of the school, and she trotted over to. She used her magic to pick it up, and looked at the front cover.

The front cover read "Death Note."

"Death Note? as in a notebook of death?" she turned to the first page. "How to use it: The pony whose name is written in this note... shall die! Now that's just stupid who in the world would believe that. Its not much different from those chain mails you get. The pony whose name is written in this note shall die? that's just bunch of crap."

With that she put the notebook back on the ground and walked away a couple of steps, only to turn around pick it back up. She put it in her bag and began to walk home. She was about halfway home when she got the thought.

There has to be something wrong with me to consider such a thing, seriously like this thing will work anyway

She continued to walk home. When she did get there she went straight to her room and turned on the news. The newscaster was talking about a pony who took hostages as he was trying to rob "The Bank of Canterlot."

Twilight thought now was a better time then ever to try out the Death Note, and see if it was the real deal. She grabbed the Death Note from her bag and set it down on her desk opened it. She read through more of the rules.

"This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person’s face in their mind when writing his or her name. Therefore, ponies sharing the same name will not be affected. If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the ponies name, it will happen. If the cause of death is not specified, the pony will simply die of a heart attack. After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds."

"This is very elaborate for a prank notebook," she thought.

"The suspect has been identified as 42-year old Nasty Hoof, we are expecting the negotiations to begin immediately," the news reporter said.

As he said the name of the suspect Twilight wrote his name down in the notebook, and watched her clock for forty seconds. After forty seconds and no results twilight thought to herself.

looks like it doesn't work after all, what a shame.

Just then the newscaster said with a shocked look on his face. "Wait it looks as if the hostages from before are coming out what could have happened? We now have conformation that the suspect appears to have fallen over, and has died of a heart attack."

With those words twilight's face went to that pure shock.

"There is no way that just happened, this has to be some kind of mistake!"

Twilight's mom said from behind twilight's door. "Its six-thirty twilight, you have cram school tonight don't you?"

"sorry mom ill be down in a sec," Twilight replied.

Twilight was now at her cram school sitting the same way she was when she was at school earlier that day.

Its very unlikely, but if this Death note is the real deal. I have to try it again. It should definitely be another low life criminal, but not one that's to well-known. The authorities would probably cover it up.

Twilight looked up to see a blue blacked maned stallion harassing another stallion with a green coat and brown mane.

What about that blue stallion, would anypony care if he was off the streets. No i should definitely avoid the people who are close around me.

cram school was over and Twilight began to walk home.

You would think that the world would be better off without all these scum in the world.

Twilight looked across the street and saw three stallions harassing a mare.

"Hey hot stuff, come have some fun with us," said the biggest one of them all. He was a Pegasus with a black coat, and stubby tail.

"That's our Black Wing for ya, he knows how to pick the best gals in the crowd," said another one of the stallions.

The stallions pinned her down and were going to molest her on the spot, but Twilight had other plans in mind. The mare who was pinned managed to break free, and make a run for it. The stallions chased after her, but their leader black wing got hit by a carriage. He was dead from the impact.

Twilight was finally convinced the Death Note was real.

Well it seems it is my time to go back to the pony world now. My time of banishment is finally coming to a close. With that Nightmare Moon spread her wings and flew towards Equestria.

Twilight was in her room looking at the Death Note. She had written much more names when she got home knowing that the Death Note was real.

"It seems that you have taking a little liking to it haven't you."

Twilight looked over to the voice seeing a tall black coated, and blue aura-ed maned alicorn. She screamed at the sight of it and fell over.

"Don't be so shocked, after all what were you expecting. My name is Nightmare moon, and seeing that look on your face I can see you figured out that that's no ordinary notebook."

Twilight said regaining her composure "Nightmare Moon huh? well am not surprised in the slightest. In fact... Nightmare Moon, I have been kinda expecting you."

"Oh really," Nightmare Moon replied.

"yes really. I've already found out that this notebook is real, and that only makes me more confident in what am going to do." Twilight said answering Nightmares question.

"I certainly wasn't expecting this," said Nightmare shocked.

"I've prepared myself, I knew that this notebook belonged to you so am prepared for any consequences. So what are you gonna do now, take my soul?" Twilight asked.

"What do you mean? Is that a fantasy one of you ponies come up with. No am not gonna do anything that notebook is yours now." Nightmare replied.

"This... right here is mine now?" asked twilight.

"If you don't want it I can always take it back, but I would have to erase your memories of the thing."

"So I can use this notebook and not be punished?" asked twilight a bit concerned.

"Lets just say you will experience the pain and misery only those who used the Death Note will feel. Now you have something to look forward to when you die." replied Nightmare Moon with a grin on her face.

knocks came from the door.

"It will be okay, go on and answer it," Nightmare moon reassured Twilight.

Twilight opened the door.

"I figured you would like to have some apples, our neighbor brought some over for us," said twilight's mom

Whats going on, mom can't see the tall black alicorn.

Twilight's mom exited the room after giving Twilight a small basket of apples.

"That Death Note you got originally belonged to me, since your using it now only you can see me," said Nightmare Moon.

Twilight set down the basket of apples on the desk, and immediately Nightmare Moon ate a couple of them.

"I have one last question, why was I chosen for this task of bearing the notebook?" asked Twilight.

Nightmare Moon swallowed her apples then laughed and replied, "you actually think I chose you because you were smart or something. No, I just dropped my notebook onto Equestria because I was bored. It was only by luck that you happened to find it, though I'm surprised at how many names you've written. But I wanna know why you only wrote the cause of death for that guy who was hit by the carriage."

"If I don't write anything they only die of a heart attack, and that's one of the better features of the Death Note. Am going to rid the world of these scum, I already got rid of most of the worlds major criminals. I am going to make a world were only the good ponies will prosper while the evil die out," Twilight replied.

"If you do that you will be the only evil one left," Nightmare Moon said questioning Twilight's actions.

"I have no idea what your talking about, I am one of Equestria's finest students and I... will become the god of this new world." Twilight retorted Nightmares claim.

Its just as I thought, ponies are so interesting, Nightmare thought.
