Seekers of Equestria, part 1- The delver
The train screeched to a stop, and wind brushed Twilight Sparkle's mane. This was an exciting day, for princess celestia had called her group of friends down to Canterlot. Then again, an exciting day was any day that she had received a letter from the princess!
"I wonder why the princess called us to Canterlot? she said it was urgent" Twilight Sparkle said as she walked out of the train
"Donno, guess ya'all have to find out" Applejack replied
The group proceeded to the great hall, as general excitement brewed among the group. They had heard that Celestia had some good news, and any good news by Celestia is bound to be exciting!
Then as they entered the hall, they noticed Celestia sitting along her usual quartet of guards.
"Welcome!" Celestia greeted
"hey princess Celestia..." Twilight replied
"Ooh ooh! what's this surprise? I like surprises!" Pinkey replied
"Well it's..." Celestia replied as she looked to her right sholder. There was nothing other then the fabulous rug.
"Solace! come out! they're here!" Celestia shouted as she shook her head. "pardon his manners, but Solace is sometimes a bit...too much into his books. Let me just get him" Celestia said as she walked out of the hall.
"Ooh! he's just like you! Exciting!" Pinkey exclaimed
"hahaha! Pinkey's right! now we'll have two bookworms" Rainbow Dash laughed
Twilight Sparkle rolls her eyes "ugg, that's not the point. I'm more worried about what he's doing here..." Twilight spoke as her mind spun with possibilities.
"relax" Spike replied "i'm sure Celestia didn't make him her new apprentice or something"
Suddenly, a white stallion with a shaggy white mane that seemed to stand at bizarre angles appeared, with princess Celestia right behind him. He had grey eyes and what appeared to be a completely white mane. He carried a sac which looked like it contained a book that covered his cutie mark. He took a look towards the gang, and waved.
"Hi, my name is Solace, and i'm the new apprentice to princess Celistia." Solace introduced, and did a small bow with one hoof
Twilight could only stare in horror

"I really do appologize for looking liike a complete mess. I would have grabbed at least a chapeau...but Celestia insisted that i meet you immediately." Solace spoke with a bit of embarrassment
"Ooh, a stallion who has a sense of fashion" Rarity replied
"heh, well...it's only fancy hats, but sure" Solace blushed as he tried to give a smile
"twilight, are you ok?" Fluddershy said as she poked Twilight
Twilight snapped out of her stunned, open mouthed shock.
"You need to relax twilight" Princess Celestia spoke in a soothing voice "he is just here due to the recent changeling invasion."
"why is that?" Twilight asked, now slightly more relaxed
"Changelings were not seen on Equestria for thousands of years, and thus their reappearance is troubling."
"So...did you seal them away like you did with discord?" asked Twilight
"Fortunately not, they had disappeared before we were born." Celestia replied
"Then what..." Twilight asked as Solace interrupted
"Such are the things that i wish to find out. The reason why I'm here is because I require intensive use of the royal library. I find it fitting for Celestia to be showing me a spell here and a spell there..." Solace spoke in a casual tone as Twilight angrily interrupted
"Hey, speak like you're speaking to Princess Celestia, and don't cut into our conversation!" Twilight demanded, as Solace looked down at the ground, slightly embarrassed.
"Well i didn't mean for a rude intro" Solace spoke as he walked into the mare 6's view. "you guys should be getting some rest, I'm going to show you the fruits of my research tomorrow! and maybe i can even get twilight to help me!." Solace spoke while he exited the room "now I must be getting back! I don't want my disorganization to be the death of you tomorrow!
Later,as the mare 6 descended to their bedrooms, the talk began
"I thought he was pretty cool" Rainbow dash commented
"Yes, and stallion who has a love of hats!" Rarity replied with excitement.
"I still don't like him." Twilight drowned as she rolled her eyes
"He's a little rough around the edges, but I think he's all right." Applejack replied
"His hair was funny!" Pinkey pie replied as she laughed
"He still seems...strange...why would princess Celestia take him as an apprentice? that would have to mean that he was really important in some way...but how?" Twilight pondered as Spike interrupted her
"Look, he has tried to be friendly with you even though were a bit edgy with him. the least you can do is attempt to be friends with him as well." Spike interrupted.
"I guess" Twilight sighed "I kinda feel bad now...maybe i'll help him tidy his lab today or something." Twilight spoke
"He did say he was tidying it up so that we wouldn't...something...oh well, it would be cool to help him out!" Rainbow dash said as apple jack shook her head
"Nuh uh, you'all know that it's a bad idea to fool around with stuff we don't know. If anyone's gonna help Solace, make it Twilight. She knows what's going with all this magic stuff." Applejack warned
"Oh all right...but tell me what he has!" Rainbow dash spoke with excitement as Fluttershy opened the door to where they would be staying: a large room with many beds, tables, and a few books.
Fluttershy skimmed to the edge of the room, where a window resided.
"Ooh, it's getting dark. We'd better get some sleep."
"Ya, that'd be...Hey! it's Daring Do books!" Rainbow dash exclaimed as she grabbed a book, fell into the bed with a plop, and began reading.
"All right, night girls" Twilight replied
"Night"
Twilight sparkle fell into a deep dream, but she couldn't help hearing the echo of footsteps...
