A routine contract. That's all It was supposed to be. His phone rang at three in the afternoon. "Hey Pearce, how's it going?" He knew that voice.

"Hello Jordi. What do you want this time?"

"Still 'Mr. Serious,' I see. Anyway, a high profile individual is in town. I need you to install a backdoor in his phone and download some files." The voice said.

"Another contract? I'm on it. Just tell me where they are." He was already in his car.

"Should be somewhere in the upper side of the loop. Don't disappoint me."

DOWNLOAD 80 PERCENT COMPLETE...

"Come on... Come on." Pearce was hiding behind a dumpster. He could see the target running around, desperately trying to find out who was hacking his smart device.

DOWNLOAD 90 PERCENT COMPLETE...

The target was becoming more and more frantic. His files were quickly being downloaded to some unknown computer. Pearce grinned. “Another easy job, done.”

DOWNLOAD 95 PERCENT COMPLETE...

“Almost there… Just a bit more.” Pearce said. The target was getting close to his hiding spot. He couldn't afford to make any mistakes in this job. He considered moving to a new spot.

DOWNLOAD 98 PERCENT COMPLETE...

A faint screaming sound. Both him and the target seemed to hear it. Peace shrugged it off as someone else who dropped their phone. Another notification appeared on his phone.

DOWNLOAD 99 PERCENT COMPLETE...

"Annnnnnd..." Suddenly, he heard a thudding sound. The target whipped their head around and quickly ran off, firing a few warning shots from their pistol.

"Damnit! I had it! What the hell was that noise, anyway?" Pearce turned around, and quickly found what made that noise. A woman, probably no older than Nicole, lying in a dumpster. "Crap, what the hell happened to her?!" He ran over to the dumpster and pulled some gauze from his pocket. "Hey, you okay? You had a pretty nasty fall there." Her eyes opened. That was a good sign. He extended his hand to help her get up. However, when stuck her hand out to grab his, she screamed.
