The Pain Of Death

Death emerged from the portal, landing him at the edge of a forest. He pulled out another orb from his bag, and with a wave of his hand, it started forming a map. "Who shall I strike first?" He said, then pulled another orb out, a list appearing on it. At the top of the list, was Fluttershy. "Hmm, the kind one shall do nicely, maybe even a 'friend' for my wreck of a steed" he said, making the orb shrink a little, having it float into the shadows of his cloak.

He looked back at the map, seeing that the shy ones house wasn't far, making him grin. He took his scythe, aligning the blade with his back, he quickly cut at his back, revealing two wings that were hidden below his cloak. He stretched his wings, feeling all the assorted bones pop into place, he took off. It had been a few centuries since had flown, but it didn't make him happy, just make him feel faster towards his goal.

He looked down, seeing the place she was currently at, he descended. He landed by a window, catching her attention, but when she looked, she saw nothing. She shrugged it off as nothing, then went back to helping Mr. Badger. Death came back from the side of the window, where she failed to look. He looked around in the tiny house, thinking of a way to kill her whilst remaining unknown to them.

"Her kindness will be her fall" he said, then he took a long piece of his cloak, them cut it off. The cloak turned into an obsidian black snake, which was already trying to bite him. "Oh little thing, you are my pet, so why would you hurt your master?" He asked it, then it stopped, locking eyes with Fluttershy, who was now staring at Death with a look of pure terror. "Feast little one" he said, letting the snake drop to the ground.

The snake slithered towards the house, smashing straight through the window, it was inside with her. She ran into the kitchen, the snake right at her heels, she slammed the door shut. She grabbed a knife from her table, holding it in her hand, she kept thinking about what was happening. "Can I really kill it?" She asked herself, of course, she didn't want to kill it, and even if she did, did she have the strength to live after she does?

Death laughed to himself, then with a wave of his hand, he put her worries to rest. The snake grew bigger, until it was the size of a cow, then it smashed through the door. Fluttershy screamed in terror, loud enough for Rainbow Dash to hear it from a nearby cloud. Rainbow heard her friend scream, she launched herself from the napping cloud, then zoomed straight to Fluttershy's house.

She grabbed the door, swinging it open, she saw the snake in the kitchen. "Hey!" She yelled, catching the attention of Death, and the snake. He looked at his list, seeing that she was second on the list, he decided to go for two in one go.

"Kill her as well" he told the snake, and the snake started forming an idea of it's own. It charged at Rainbow, surprising her with it's speed. It whipped it's tail in front of itself, catching her, just before she could take flight. With the snake's tail wrapped around her leg, she was grounded.

Fluttershy peeked around the door frame, and she saw the snake lift her friend, right above it's mouth. "RAINBOW!" She yelled, the snake glanced over to her slightly, and Rainbow was looking at her with a look of terror. The snake lowered her, taking a huge bite of her leg, it dropped her. A loud snap was heard when she hit the ground, and her wing was bent a way it was never meant to bend.

"Fuck!" Rainbow yelled, as she writhed on the ground in pain. The snake made a grin at Fluttershy, then slithered out of the house. Fluttershy quickly ran over to Rainbow, trying to get a good look at the wound.

"It's OK Rainbow, I'll go grab some stuff to help!" She said, quickly dashing over to her stairs. She looked back at the window Death was at, and what she saw made her pale. Death was slowly coming through the wall, distorting it slightly. He had come all the way through the wall, which was blackened a little, and looked like some pony had just randomly beat on it with a sledgehammer.

She flew up her stairs, reaching her bathroom, she ran in and grabbed all her medical supplies from a first-aid box. She came back down, seeing Death standing next to her friend scared her. She missed the last step because she was distracted by Death, and she landed on her leg awkwardly, snapping it in two. She gasped in pain, then quickly got off it, only to see it was wiggling around freely. She puked from the pain, then looked at her door, seeing the snake there again, she almost screamed, until she realized it was staring at Death, who was now next to Fluttershy.

"I got a long list to fill, and I can't be caught for just killing you" he said to her and Rainbow, then he pulled out the orb that had a list on it. "Lets see, the most common predator here, is a timberwolf" he said, releasing a low, slow chuckle. He pointed at the snake, which now had a look of terror on it's face. Death opened his hand slowly, making the snake swell a little, then he opened it the rest of the way, making the snake's bones break from it's skin, leaving a pile of scales and organs.

"What the hell?" Rainbow asked, looking at what used to be her killer.

"Oh don't worry, it only gets worse" he said, then the bones reshaped themselves, breaking, snapping, and changing. The pile of leftover flesh and scales turned into a dark matter, which flew to Death, as his cloak absorbed it, giving him a bit more power. The bones had finished their work, and now looked like a fully fledged timberwolf, but made of bones. He pointed at the two ponies on the ground. "Destroy"

The bone wolf locked eyes with Fluttershy, then leaped at her. Fluttershy put her hands in front of her face, but to no use, since her arms broke on contact with it. It chomped down on her left shoulder, making her scream in pain. It started doing the basic instincts in wolves, rip out the throat. It started thrashing it's head violently, making her entire arm rip off in a few seconds. It threw the arm to the side, then quickly lashed around, clamping down on her throat, silencing her screams of terror and pain.

It thrashed it's head again, severely mangling her neck and head. "Fluttershy, no" Rainbow said weakly, her body still wrapped in pain. The wolf slowly looked towards her, and just stared at her for a few more seconds, before doing the same. It leaped at her, panding on her legs, crushing them. Rainbow let out a silent scream of pain, and tried crawling away. The wolf noticed the struggle, and didn't want to have none of it. It stabbed it's sharp claws straight into her back, impaling her stomach and a few other organs. It started digging into her back, shredding it, as organs started coming out with the claws, Rainbow let out one final breath, then faded from life.

"Finally, some pony souls! I've waited 2613 years just for this moment!" Death exclaimed, then slowly walked over to Fluttershy's corpse. He put his hand above her, then closed it, as if grabbing something. He lifted his arm slowly, pulling her soul from the deceased body. Her soul was that of pure sadness, never to see her friends, pets, or family ever again. But she felt a spark of hope, trusting that she would see her parents again.

"Oh your not going there, for your god is unaware of your death, so she cannot take your soul to that 'sanctum' of yours" he said, putting her flaming hope in shattered bits. Then he walked over to Rainbow's shredded body. He did the same, pulling her soul out. Her soul was that of fear of the unknown, but she felt as if she would see her old pet, Skittles the cat.

"There is a special place for pets, and it's not where your going" he said to her, instantly shattering her hopes of something familiar. He brought out a soul jar, opening it, their souls began being absorbed into it. They released screams, screams that were icy cold, empty, silent. The screaming ended when they were fully absorbed, then were trapped forever when he closed it. "Sounds good to hear something die" Death said, then looked at the bone wolf that was sitting by Rainbow's corpse.

"I have no more need of you, go kill something in that forest, for I release your soul" he said, then the wolf instantly charged out, breaking the door on the way out. He grinned a little, then pulled out his orb list again. "Who shall we kill next?"
