Why is it that not a single history book about the Crystal Empire exists in Equestria? Not even the princesses seem to remember what happened in the Crystal Empire before King Sombra came to power.
Nopony knows why, but the books retaining information about the Crystal Empire's origins have completely vanished. This was only noticed by Princess Cadence after a year of her peaceful reign. Wishing to know more about her subjects and their history, she went to go find some history books in the royal library. Nevertheless to say, she couldn't find any.
She went to the only pony who knew anything about the Empire's past. Me.
Alternate Universe tag due to the fact that this does not follow the more recent's comic's canon backstory for King Sombra.
