After crash-landing in the Everfree Forest, the young Galactic Alliance Captain Cayden Tavers, freshly regenerated following yet another death due to unexplainable circumstances, finds himself neck-deep in a way between Good and Evil.

With the earth pony, Nurse Tenderheart, by his side, they begin traveling the Kingdom, hunting monsters and demons during their travels. However, Tenderheart's sidelong glances at him, not to mention being mistaken for someone called "The Director" all the time, Cayden starts to find out that everything is not as it seems in this strange world... or, at least... everything surrounding who he is isn't as it seems...
