Twilight looked over her book at the girl. Her poufy pink hair, you really could call it a mane, tied up as she stared at the book with the intensity to burn a hole through it. Geez and she thought that she was a crazy studier. The girl had looked like that since she had sat across from Twilight. Looking back at her physics book, she grumbled, she had a test in the class tomorrow that the professor said it would be worth half of their grade. Looking up again and at the clock she cursed under her breath. It was three in the morning and she only had five hours until class. She could either continue to study and live on coffee tomorrow or go and get at least four hours of sleep. Sleep sounded enticing, so grabbing her stuff she started to stuff it into her bag before she heard a thump.
Looking up she saw the pink haired girl with her face planted to her book. Edging closer to the girl, Twilight heard what sounded like soft snoring. It looked like the girl had fallen asleep in the middle of studying. Twilight couldn’t help but feel bad for the poor girl, she had been there before. During freshman year she had fallen asleep in the library, but no one had woken her up and she ended up missing all of her classes that day. She wasn’t going to let this poor girl share that same fate.
Tapping the girl on the shoulder, she half expected her to bolt out of sleep, but all she did was grumble something about frosting. Grimacing, Twilight shook the girls shoulder, and when that didn’t work she shook her harder. This should have been enough to wake a normal human being but apparently this girl was not a normal human being.
Taking her physics book out of her bag she held it up about a foot off the table before letting it go. When it hit the table the sound that manifested was loud enough to be heard in buildings nearby. The sound was also loud enough to wake the sleeping girl.
The pink haired girl practically jumped a foot in the air before falling on the floor. Moaning she clutched her head before looking up accusingly at Twilight.
“What the in the name of Celestia was that for?” the girl hissed at you.
“Well you fell asleep on your book, and considering the first class starts in about four hours I thought I should wake you up before you slept through all your classes” Twilight answered before offering her hand out to the girl.
“Still, waking me up with by slamming a textbook on the table wasn’t the best idea” the girl said before taking the offered hand.
Pulling her up Twilight replied “Well you didn’t wake up when I shook you or anything so I went to the next best idea.”
“Next best idea? I think you could’ve though of something better than that.”
“It’s too early in the morning to think, okay.”
“Yeah I guess I mean it’s” the girl paused as she looked at her watch “three in the morning?!” the girl exclaimed, her eyes practically bulging out.
“Yeah, now you know why I woke you up.”
“Heh,heh,heh, thanks” the girl said smiling apologetically.
“No problem” Twilight said as she turned around and began heading towards the door.
“Wait!” the girl cried reaching out and grabbing Twilight’s wrist.
“Huh” Twilight asked, surprised, as she turned around.
“Uuuuuuh, my names Pinkie” the girl said holding out her hand.
“Twilight” she answered hesitantly before taking the girls hand.
“I want to thank you for waking me up, even if it was with a book” Pinkie said.
“It’s no problem really, been there done that. Just doing a fellow person a favor” Twilight insisted.
“No, most people would have just left me there to sleep through my classes.”
“Yeah I know that happened to me once. That’s why-“
“See, that’s what I mean! Most people would have just done that so I want to thank you somehow!” Pinkie interrupted.
“Listen, you don’t need to do anything for me. Just let me feel like I did a good deed and let me head back to my dorm to get a few hours of sleep” Twilight said with a smile as she began to slowly turn around.
Pinkie grabbed her arm again and spun her around and pulled her close to her face. A determined look was on her face as she said “No way, just hear me out for a second. Please just let me do this, I want to show you how thankfully I am.”
Twilight sighed, she really didn’t want to make a big deal out of this but it looked like the girl wasn’t gonna budge on this. Really all she wanted right now was to go back to her dorm and flop down on her bed and fall asleep for a few hours, but it didn’t look like she was going to go anywhere before she answered Pinkie’s question.
“Fine, ok I give in! What do have in mind?” Twilight asked.
“Hmmmm” Pinkie though as she tapped her chin before she got a wide smile on her face “How about a party?!” she cried.
“Uhhhh, how about no. I don’t do parties. Plus that seems like a bit much, don’t you think?” Twilight questioned.
“But my parties are the best, they’re legendary. Plus, I’ve wanted to plan one for a while, this would be the perfect occasion for one” Pinkie said.
“My answer is still no. You can go crazy and plan a party for something else, but I don’t do parties.”
“Awwww, you’re a party pooper aren’t you? Fine then what do you suggest I do for you?”
“Well how about letting go of my arm?”
“Oh yeah sorry” Pinkie apologized as she let go of Twilights arm.
“Listen, I really don’t care. I just want some sleep, so can I just go back to my dorm and get some sleep” Twilight pleaded.
“Wait, I have an idea!!” Pinkie exclaimed.
“What is it?”
“After our classes today I’ll treat you to coffee.”
“I can agree to that” Twilight said “My last class ends around four, depends on how long the professor talks.”
“My ends around that time too, so how about we meet up here.”
“Ok then, I’ll see you tomorrow” Twilight said turning around a waving goodbye to the girl. When she made it back to her room she collapsed on her bed, sleep at last.
