Pain.
That was the last thing he felt before his life ended, he had stood victoriously over his beaten rival, but he had tricked him and led him into his own very demise.
Now there he was, swirling around in the abyss of nothingness, what lay in store for him?
Was there some benevolent god that will punish him for his wicked ways? Will he be reincarnated as some weaker form just to live out his miserable life as a lesson and be made an example of?
Or will there be nothing? Just this continual nothingness that will keep him enslaved within his own thoughts and... "soul".
Hours pass, or was it seconds? Days? Years? In this vast abyss, there was no sense of time, nothing to tell him how much time has passed.
I swear to God I will go crazy from this, he thought.
*Thud*
But this thought was stopped by sudden pain.
He suddenly felt himself lying on grass, the man opened his eyes to see sunlight directly strike his face. Forced to squint his eyes to prevent any more ocular damage, he inspected his surroundings: trees and twisted branches shooting out in different directions.
This man forced himself to get up from the ground. He stumbled a little as his sense of balance seemed to wane during his time in the nothingness.
in his mind, he was thinking of how his sudden resurrection was an impossibility to every law in the universe, but he then dismissed that thought as he realized that he himself was an anomaly of sorts.
If I am back on my world, then there must be some sort of civilization somewhere, he thought, concentrating on his ability, but he stopped.
My power.... it's gone! he thought, realizing he was stripped of his power and was probably forced to be some slave to the very world he lived in, he shuddered at the thought.
Despite all the unanswered questions, he had to focus on finding civilization.
He started his trek with a single step, the first step he had taken since his death. He began walking in an unknown path towards whatever lay in store for him.
Hours later...
As the man walked, he began to notice some things that were both unfamiliar to him and confusing.
What was the vegetation that surrounded him? Of course there were familiar animals that, naturally, avoided him. But the fauna that made up this forest was unfamiliar to him, he knew of many types of trees, hell, he knew almost everything that went on in his world.
*SNAP!!*
The man whipped around to see the most confusing thing he had ever laid eyes upon.
Wolves.
Made of wood.
Timber wolves? Idiotic puns, he growled under his breath as these flora-fauna crossbreeds surrounded him in a circle.
"If you think I am food-" he said to them in a calm but eerie voice, "-then you will be thoroughly disappointed." Those were his first words on this world.
They took this as a threat as one of them began charging him. But his reflexes were faster, as soon as the wolf was inches away from him, he took a step back, grabbed the beast by it's jaws, and with a hard jerk, snapped it's neck.
That was when the rest of them charged him. The man acted immediately, whipping around and dodging each attack, one after another he would inflict a wound to each of the inferior animals that dare try to attack him.
Eventually, despite the pain and effort, he slaughtered each and every one of them with his bare hands. He looked at his hands and knuckles, bruises, scrapes, and splinters adorned them, but he just shrugged off the pain and moved on with his directionless journey.
This world's environment went against everything he knew. Wolves made of wood? What else? Medusa-chickens?
He heard another snap, he turned around and saw a chicken with a reptilian body looking at him.
Speak of the devil, he growled under his breath. Apparently this world had a sense of realistic superstition in it, Jinxes and irony, it'll be a matter of time before magic makes it's way onto the list. Due to the sense of jinxes, he decided not to look at the monstrosity that beheld itself, fearing what would happen if he made eye contact with it.
He trudged on until he made it to a pool of water, he stood before it as he inspected himself.
The man had black hair, as he was created with all his miserable life, the same monotone expression plastered on his face. As he checked again he wore his signature outfit, he dug his hand into his pocket and found a pair of black sunglasses as he put on.
He couldn't help but grin slightly as he looked like himself again, dirty, but himself anyway.
This mysterious man heard glanced to his right to see a small town not to far from where he was.
Finally, intelligent life, he thought to himself as he continued to this unknown form of civilization.
Later...
When he finally reached the town, there was something else that would catch him off guard.
Ponies.
Talking ponies.
Although he was relatively close to the town, these conversational livestock had not seen him yet.
Despite all his achievements, his battle against his very foes, he was not prepared for this. He kept a close eye on the inhabitants, they all ranged from different colors and shades, their hair had almost disturbingly human-like qualities, had tattoos on their rears, but he noticed something a tad different from them that set them apart despite color and tattoos.
While there were normal ponies that walked amongst the town, some of them had horns and even wings.
Unicorns and Pegasi? This is just ridiculous! his mind screamed in his brain.
His sight then focused on another: a lavender one that possessed both qualities, sporting a horn and wings, and had a tattoo of some kind of firework.
He scanned the crowd for any differences, but none of them possessed the same qualities as this one. He assumed this one had some sort of political power (if there was any power among these animals!).
Unbeknownst to him, the purple mare (he assumed it was female), had noticed him for quite a while and was suspicious of his intentions and informed the local guards minutes before he reached the town.
The man heard hoofbeats behind him and something sharp jab him in the back, he whipped around to see five ponies dressed in golden armor wielding spears and swords.
"We were informed by the princess of your arrival, you are to be arrested for suspicious activity and possible disturbance of the peace," he declared.
Disturbance of the peace? Suspicious activity? What kind of idiotic charges were that? It was almost like they have never seen something like him before.
Unless... they haven't. Unless he was sent to some alternate dimension for some sort of reason unknown to himself.
But that wouldn't let these primitive creatures stop him.
"No," he replied.
"Excuse me?" the guards said, bewildered by the fact that this creature could talk.
"Are you deaf? Is there something wrong with your ears? Let me repeat myself: I. Said. No."
"No?" the guard said.
"Is there an echo?" he said, tilting his ear back as if trying to hear something that others couldn't.
"That's another charge: resisting arrest," the guard said finally, but before he could give out any commands, the man sent his fist directly into the stallion's jaw, knocking him out cold.
The other guards sprang into action, they attempted to stab the man with their spears, be he caught, deflected, and knocked away the spears with ease.
In seconds, he beat them to pulp.
"It's been fun, but I have important things to do," he turned around to the direction of the town, only to get tackled by a rainbow.
Okay, it wasn't really a rainbow, but it had the color scheme of a rainbow.
"I got him Twilight!" he heard a feminine voice shout, he opened his eyes to see a pair of pink eyes look back at him through his sunglasses.
He immediately caught her by the throat with his hand as he began trying to choke her.
"Let go o' her!!!" he heard, the next thing he remember was pain and flying into a nearby tree.
"Girls, girls, stop," he heard a voice say.
He opened his eyes to see the same lavender pony standing in front of five others: an orange one with a stetson hat, a rainbow-haired blue pegasus, an elegant white unicorn, a completely pink pony bouncing around with curiosity shining in it's blue eyes, and lastly, a yellow pink-haired pegasus that tried to hide behind it's own mane.
The purple one cleared her throat and finally spoke in an authoritative voice, "Forgive the guards for their intrusions, I specifically told them to detain you passively, but they seem to have very short fuses on their anger."
The man looked at her in an emotionless expression, "Clearly you chose the wrong team, they were not experienced enough to handle situations such as this."
I don't care how long I stay here...
"*Cough* Narcissist *cough*," he heard the blue one say.
"Well now that we're aware of your sentience, I would like to introduce myself. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle; this is Rainbow Dash-"
The cyan one glared at him.
Or how long it takes to get back.
"Applejack."
She glared at him as well.
"Rarity and Fluttershy."
"Glad to make your acquaintance."
"H-hi," Fluttershy squeaked out.
I will find you and your entire pathetic city...
"And last but not least, Pinkie Pie."
"HI!" she said, giving a more... normal (according to her) greetings since her witnessing of guards getting beaten with two very powerful fists.
And crush you like the bug you are...
"Now that introductions are out of the way, we need you to come with us to Canterlot and meet Princess Celestia," Twilight said.
Whether I am forced to help these insignificant pests to get back to you...
The man nodded to her, "I am fine with that."
I will find you...
Twilight was on the verge of turning around until she spoke, "By the way, I didn't catch your name."
Mr. Anderson.
The man smiled at her wickedly in an evil kind of way, "Smith, my name is Smith."
