Chpt. 1 "Smaller Subjects"
Twilight rested on her throne. Her purple mane was scraggly from tiring work and princess duties.
She petted Owlowiscious slowly and closed her eyes.
"What am I at Owlowiscious," Twilight asked her, "I can't keep weakening myself when my kingdom needs me."
Owlowisious nudged her owner, gently hooting comfortingly.
Twilight smiled and looked at Spike's Throne. He was snoozing there softly, cuddling cutely with a teddy bear.
Owlowisious flew off out the window to stretch her wings. Twilight sat back in her chair, and tried to get some much
needed rest.
Crash! Bang!
Twilight opened her eyes and jumped to her hooves. Somepony was here...
She poked Spike hurriedly and hissed,
"Spike! Wake up! There's somepony in the castle."
Spike groaned and rolled on his side.
"Of course there is, it's just a guard..."
Twilight shook her head.
"No, the guards should be on dinner break right now. There's no way."
Spike sat up and groggily scowled at Twilight. He got up and crossed his arms.
Twilight hid behind her throne and readied a fire spell, making her horn glow brightly.
There was a faint gasp and another crash. Nearer now...
Twilight's spell was ready to be cast. She aimed for the source of the sound and...
"Wait!" Spike whispered, pointing at the hallway.
A shadow was growing as it got closer and closer. But when its owner reached the
doorway, Twilight looked puzzled.
A black muzzle came from around the corner and disappeared into the shadows
in fright. Not quite tall but not small either. Spike hid. Twilight stood, and approached the pony.
It stepped deeper into the darkness.
"I'm not going to hurt you. May you please come out so I can see you better?" Twilight asked
The pony replied in a very shy and unsure voice that was shaking with fear.
"I know that. Your too nice to hurt me. But I'd rather stay hidden."
Twilight tilted her head, confused by how this pony knew if she
would attack or not.
"Is there a reason you want to stay hidden?" Twilight asked curiously
The pony hesitated for a moment then said,
"I don't want to be put away into a padded yellow room. You have to much authority,
I can't risk it." The pony started to cough heavily.
Twilight was slightly disturbed. Why would this pony need to be sent to and asylum?
"I can help you if you need it. But in order for me to do that, I need to see you first."
Once again, hesitation. When Twilight tried to reach out to guide the pony,
it ran down the hall, yelling
"No! No I can't!"
Twilight raced after it, her mane blowing in the night wind. The guards having
returned from their break, join the Princess on the chase.
The pony kept knocking things over clumsily, and running into walls.
Twilight wondered how it was running so fast. Finally the guards pounced on the
pony, Twilight lit up her horn and shone some light on the pony's face.
A Pegasus filly! Very tall, but still a filly. Black fur with silvery-cyan speckles, a Navy blue mane,
and golden eyes that glinted in the light. They were wide with fear and pain.
Twilight knelt at the filly's side and asked her calmly,
"Why did you run?"
"I want to be alone. Let these guards off me, and let me go!" the filly demanded,
Twilight put a hoof to the filly's forehead.
"Honey, you have a high fever and you look tired. I can help you. In fact, guards let her go." she said
They set the filly on the ground. She looked up at Twilight in confusion.
"I'm not about to let somepony out there to die in the cold."
The filly stood and eyed Twilight suspisiously. But she obeyed and weakly walked alongside the
purple mare, sighing in defeat.
"I'm...Galaxy." the filly said
"I'm Twilight."
Chpt. 2 "Meeting with the Mane"
Galaxy jumped to her hooves quickly. Her face was wet with sweat and tears.
She got back in her new bed and moaned. Why was it so difficult to sleep? She turned on her back and
saw her wings spring out. She growled and put her hooves on them, struggling to just, get, them, down...
She sighed and got up, defeated.
She wobbled toward the doorway and looked around the new room. Grey walls, carpet, the blue bed,
and a table. Complete with a bathroom next to a large window.
Seems like a cool place I guess She thought
Galaxy gazed out the window in wonder. All of Ponyville was shining like newly sprinkled dew on a field.
She took a deep breath and walked out her door. Twilight should be just grabbing the stars out of the sky by now.
The hall was alive with guards and unicorns.
Galaxy froze and dove for cover under a table. She whimpered slightly.
When she saw Twilight she stood up, banging her head on the table above.
"Ow!" she squealed
Twilight saw her and helped her up. Galaxy was red from embarrassment.
The purple mare grinned and asked her,
"Sleep well?"
Galaxy snorted and replied,
"Well enough, without these pesky wings."
Twilight shook her head still smiling.
"I was just like you when I first received my wings."
Galaxy nodded and the filly shook out her tangled mane.
Twilight paused and led Galaxy to the doorway of the throne room.
"I also have a few people for you to meet." she said warmly
Galaxy gasped. 5 other ponies were gazing at her and Twilight.
"Twilight! Ah was wonderin' when you'd be here!" said an approaching
orange mare, she looked at Galaxy.
"Well who's this lil' filly?" she asked
Twilight cleared her throat, led Galaxy to the base of her
throne and announced,
"This is my new friend Galaxy, she was in the castle."
Galaxy sort of bowed and sat down awkwardly like a dog
next to Spike, who was curious to know more about this new filly.
"Galaxy, this is Applejack and my friends Rainbowdash, Fluttershy, Pinkie,
Rarity and Spike."
Galaxy nodded and made that list of names clear to herself in her head.
The girls got up to get a better look at the black filly.
"Oh Twilight we must schedule a spa appointment for her, her
dark hair would look simply beautiful in curls!" Rarity gushed
"It's nice to meet you all!" Galaxy said trying to sound friendly
Rainbowdash flew over to greet the new Pegasus.
"Sup kid! I'm Rainbowdash but you can just call me Rainbow." she said
"And I'm Pinkie! By the way I'm still planning your Welcome Party, what kind
of streamers do you want?" asked a pink mare with a crazy, frizzed-out mane
Galaxy smiled but shook her head.
"It's no biggee. I don't need a party to know you are obviously
really cool ponies! But blue streamers would be cool!"
Pinkie grinned ear to ear and replied,
"Thanks for telling me. And you seem like a nice filly too!"
The final mare tried to say hi, but hid behind a curtain of pink hair.
"Hi. You must be Fluttershy!" I said softly, and looking up at her
"Hello there Galaxy." said the gentle and tiny voice of the cream colored mare.
"So what do you like to do for fun?" I asked her, as the other ponies went
to talk with Twilight.
"Talk to animals..." Fluttershy replied
Galaxy smiled.
"I like animals too."
Fluttershy looked happy and said a soft,
"Yay."
Galaxy started looking at Spike, who was slightly ignored by his 'Mother.'
She got up and sat next to him.
"What's up Spike?"
He glanced at her and then sighed.
"Why would you care? I'm just a stupid messenger." he asked
Galaxy frowned and nudged him, saying gently,
"C'mon, your a great friend, and a fun p...ony to be with I'm sure."
Spike looked up at his new castlemate and awkwardly smiled.
Galaxy grinned back slowly.
Well one thing is for sure.
Leaving Ponyville will be hard...
