Equestria's past is common knowledge to everypony. It was created by the three pony tribes after the Windigos were defeated by the power of friendship held between three mares in a cold, dark cave.
But what happens when the friendship and kindness is lost once again? What happens when the clouds begin to turn on ponies, and plunge Equestria into a deep snow? When a war breaks out between Celestia and Luna, citizens and soldiers who feel abandoned by their so-called leaders beg for a place to be free. To be safe.
Rainbow Dash asked herself if such a thing could exist, and was given a vision of a new country, where ponies abandoned by past wars could not only survive, but thrive. Over time, this vision turned into a reality, and became known as The Rainbow Dynasty: a place where all former soldiers and orphans of wars could control their own lives and future. However, the country is constantly under fire from the New Lunar Republic and the Solar Empire.
To combat these attacks, seven orphaned foals are raised to be perfect soldiers, so that someday they could form a special squad known as the Spectrum. These select few ponies take on the secret mission of assassinating Celestia and Luna and ending the war.
This mission is code-named Operation:Eclipse.
