"I'm sorry, Twilight, but I have my own problems to deal with. Not only am I alone, but without a partner, I'm just about screwed. I'd rather be my own burden than yours."

"Then come live with me. Please, you don't have to do this."

"Twilight, just listen to me, okay? I'm a criminal. Not because I killed Artyom, but because I was once his partner in crime. We would commit crime on a daily basis - deal drugs, assassinate priority targets, steal, you name it. It's what kept the two of us alive for years now. I may have saved you from rape, but that doesn't excuse my history."

"Nopony needs to know of your history. You could start over."

"It's too late for that. I'm having trouble just evading the police, and if I stay in one place for too long, I'm done for."

"Just-"

"GO, TWILIGHT."

She steps back, a hoof raised. Surprise reflects from her expression, only to transform into sorrow.

"I'm neither your problem, nor am I yours to lose... Leave... Return to your family, or whomever..."

Hesitant, she trots out of the alleyway, glancing back at me once more. I wave her goodbye, she waves back, and then returns to her path home.
