                         Chapter 1

Chapter 1
"Ah!". Princess Lynx screamed once again, waking up from yet another nightmare of the same painful memory. Little did Lynx know that these repetitive nightmares, that kept on getting worse and worse, were slowly breaking her sanity.
    Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. She got up from her bed and opened the door a crack to see who it was. It was her coltfriend, Prince Keith. She invited him in.
"Lynx, are you okay?". Keith asked with his face full of concern.
"Yeah," Lynx answered with a kind smile. "It was just another nightmare.".
"Lynx, I'm starting to worry about this.".
"They're just nightmares. It's not a big deal.".
"I think you're not telling me something. That's what's worrying me.".
"I'm not hiding anything. They're just stupid nightmares," Lynx argued looking down at her hooves.
"Lynx," Keith began, while putting a hoof on her cheek. "Everyday, I've seen you look more terrified as each day goes by. Something is really bugging you and, whatever it is, you need to tell me what.".
Lynx sighed. "Alright, I'll tell you.".
    Lynx escorted Keith over to her red couch in the corner. She sat down and he sat down beside her.
"Well, do you still remember when Brax kidnapped me then you, Princess Birdie, and Princess Mary had to rescue me?" Lynx asked.
"Yeah," Keith answered. "How could I forget?".
"Well, when Brax kidnapped me, he tried to make me his queen and join the evil side. He said that if I did that he would let me live but everyone else would die. I didn't hesitate when I declined but he ragged and began to physically hurt me and torture me. I've never experienced more pain.".
Lynx sighed and paused for a moment.
"Now, those memories are haunting me and they have a more terrible ending than the actual memory in my nightmares.".
"That's awful, how come you never told me what happened?".
"I was just scared.".
"Why? You can tell me anything.".
"I know, I was afraid that if I told you what happened you'd think I was crazy.".
"You're already crazy, though.".
"The other type of crazy.".
"Oh...".
There was a small silence after that final word.
"I'm sorry," Keith said finally breaking the silence.
"What?" Lynx asked.
"I said 'I'm sorry.".
"I know I just wanted to hear you say it again.".
They both chuckled.
"Will you be able to go back to sleep?" Keith asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Lynx answered.
"Good, because I'm exhausted.".
Lynx smiled and walked Keith to the door.
"Good night," Keith said.
"Night," waved Lynx.
    Lynx closed the door behind Keith. Keith then began to walk back to his room. He  face-hoofed and groaned.
"Dang it!" Keith thought. "I forgot to ask her, again!"
-------------------------------------Next day-----------------------------------------
     Back at the castle, everyone was getting up and going to the dining room for breakfast.
"Hey, everyone!" Princess Diamond exclaimed, cheerful as always.
"Why are you so happy?" Princess Lynx asked groggily.
"Why wouldn't I be?".
"Oh, I don't know, maybe because it's eight a.m.!".
"Don't be so frowny! When I was-".
"Don't sing!" Everyone commanded.
"Well, then!" Diamond said dramatically.
    Everyone continued to eat their breakfast, chattering about unimportant and random things.
"So has anyone heard from Princess Luna lately?" Princess Birdie finally asked.
"Actually, no," Prince Keith said.
"Isn't Princess Luna, like, your sister, Lynx?" Princess Diamond asked.
"Oh no! I just realized I have some... uh... royal stuff to do, I'll just go." Lynx walked away from the table, without another word.
"Was it something I said?" Diamond asked.
"I'll go get her," Princess Mary said, getting up from the table and followed Princess Lynx.
    When Mary found Lynx, she was in her room, sitting on her bed. Mary was pretty sure what happened back there, but she still had to ask her.
"Hey, Lynx, what happened back there?" Mary asked, eyes full of concern.
Lynx sighed and then began.
"Well, when I was nine or ten, I was told I was adopted. So, I went out to find my birth parents. When I was looking for them, I was taken in by Luna. Princess Celestia was kind of hesitant about it, but went along with it. After a few months, I was then told who my birth parents are, the original royals, Luna and Celestia's parents.".
Lynx paused for a moment, then continued.
"I was thrilled, I couldn't believe that the pony that was like a sister to me was actually my real sister. But, on that one faithful day, when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, I was then told my adopted parents were killed by one of Nightmare Moon's followers. One thousand years pass and Twilight Sparkle and her friends turned her back to Luna.".
Princess Lynx shed a tear, sighed, then she continued.
"When she came back to the castle, she tried to hug me, but all I could do is look at her in horror, for I only saw the monster that killed my adopted parents. I still haven't got over it if you can't tell," Princess Lynx concluded.
Mary's thoughts were confirmed.
"But, you were in my school when we were little," Mary argued.
"Yes, I lived in the castle, but I still went to school as much as I could.".
"Oh, well you said you were there when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and turned back, how old are you?" Mary asked.
"Well, this is hard to explain, but I'll try to explain. When Luna turned into that monster, when I went out to go see if my adopted parents were really dead, she struck me with a spell that reversed my age back to an infant and paused my age for about nine hundred fifty years. After those years, my age started to go by every three years. So, technically I am over a thousand years old, but I am twenty-one since that age spell hit me.".
"Oh my gosh! Did you tell Keith?".
"Not yet, I'm planning on it.".
"You need to tell him, what if someone is eavesdropping and hears us?".
    Meanwhile, Prince Keith was going to check on Mary and Lynx, but right before he knocked he heard "Did you tell Keith?" He paused and put his ear to the door.
"Not yet, I'm planning on it," Princess Lynx said.
What is she talking about?
"You need to tell him, what if someone is eavesdropping and hears us?" Princess Mary asked.
Apparently, they don't know how to close a door.
"Just hope they don't tell him before I do," Lynx concluded.
    Prince Keith took his ear away from the door and began to walk away. Until he heard Mary's hoof beats hitting the marble floors. Keith picked up the pace and galloped to the library.
"Tasuku! Tasuku! Are you here?" Prince Keith called.
"Yes, yes, you don't have to yell," the elder raven whined.
"Well, it's an emergency!".
"What kind of emergency, a scientific discovery, a new place to add to the map, a new species?".
"No, no nothing of that sort.".
"Then what is it?".
"I want you to get The Book of Pony History.".
"How is this an emergency?".
"It can look any individual pony in Equestria, correct?".
"Yes sir.".
"Well, I need to look up Princess Lynx, I overheard her talking to Princess Mary and it didn't sound promising.".
"Isn't that invading privacy?".
"Are refusing an order?".
    The dark bird thought for a moment to gather his thoughts. If he did say yes, he could be severely punished or banished. The decision was obvious.
"No sir, right away, sir," Tasuku answered, flying to shelves to retrieve the book.
    Tasuku hated when Keith got like this because Tasuku feels that he's invading someone else's privacy. Then again, the book shows them their life, not their secrets. If something is clarified as a secret, then the book won't show it, that's how the book worked.
    After a few moments, Tasuku finally found The Book of Pony History. Tasuku grabbed the book with his left claw, set it on a table, and flipped the pages to find Princess Lynx.
"Good, you found it!" Keith cheered.
Tasuku nodded, then flew to his perch in the middle of the library.
"Okay, Lynx, what is wrong with you?" Keith asked himself.

                         Chapter 2

Chapter 2
"Hmm what to read, what to read," Princess Mary thought to herself while walking into the library.
Mary loved to read so much that she came to the library everyday to check out a new book each and every time, so she would always carry her white saddle bags with her cutie-mark on the front of the bag.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a gray alicorn rushing past her, almost making her fall.
"Whoa!" She shouted, trying to regain her balance.
"Sorry!" shouted back Keith.
Mary sighed and continued to go towards the shelves.
A few moments later she found a book about dark magic. She grabbed the book, walked towards the table in the middle of the library, then sat down and started to read the book.
"I wonder if this is what Sombra read to learn about dark magic?" Princess Mary asked herself. "Or maybe Brax used it, but from what I know he made his own version of this dark magic. How does one do that? Did he make a spell? Do you use the same concept?".
Just then, Tasuku flew by mumbling something that Mary couldn't quite hear. In fear that he would think the worse of her and report that thought to Princess Lynx or someone else, she quickly closed the book and galloped out of the library with the book in her saddlebag.
...
    Meanwhile in the Dark Forest in the Dark Side of Equestria, the angry Brax was contemplating on what he could do to defeat the Circle of Princes and the Head.
    He could blow a full attack on the Dark Side but that didn't work last time, why would that work now? He had to attack one of their few weaknesses, but which one? Maybe he could give them a false sense of peace? Then again, they are all too clever to fall for that.
    Brax sighed and was about to give up until a bright and clever idea came to mind. Brax smirked deviously to himself and laughed evilly.
....
.
    Prince Keith finally made it to his room, slammed the door with his back hoof, collapsed on his bed, and sighed in relief.
"Jeez, that was a close one," Keith thought to himself. "Man, I'm bored, I wonder how Lynx is doing by the way?".
Keith walked across the hall and heard a faint crying.
Keith knocked on the door and waited for a moment.
No answer, but he could still hear crying.
He knocked again and waited another moment.
Still no answer and the crying got softer.
"Hey, Lynx? You in there?".
The crying stopped. There was eerie silence.
"Lynx, are you okay?".
Again, silence.
Whatever...
    Prince Keith began to walk back to his room when he heard the door open a crack behind him. Keith turned around to see Princess Lynx's face.
"Hey, are you okay?" Keith asked.
          She didn't answer. She just opened the door wider to invite me in. Keith entered the room and saw that all the lights were off, but he could still see little specks of blood on the ground.
           Keith turned around to see Lynx gripping onto the door with one hoof to hold herself up from falling and the other hoof was holding her shoulder to try to stop the bleeding of a deep cut.
           Keith galloped to her side as she fell almost fell to the ground, but he caught her just in time.
"Lynx!" Keith yelled.
Lynx slowly closed her eyes and went to sleep.
            Princess Lynx woke up to a white room with all her friends surrounded around her. Princess Mary saw that Lynx had woken up and went to get the doctor.
            When Mary came back, she came back with a male, browned-eyed, red unicorn, with a black mane that was pointed at the front, and a capital "m" cutie-mark. He also had a blond maned blue-eyed nurse at his side.
"Doctor, I think the patient has woken up," the nurse said.
"Shut up nurse! I know my patient is awake!" the doctor scolded the nurse. "I apologize for my nurse's obviousness.".
            Everyone had to stifle their laughter and try to stay serious, so that the doctor can remember what the diagnosis. The doctor sighed and then began.
"Well, my name is Dr. Mark and I have your diagnosis," he introduced himself, as he turned to everyone else. "I think you all may have to leave.".
The other ponies left without a word. All who were left were Dr. Mark, the nurse, and Princess Lynx.
"Lynx, are you clinically depressed?".
"What? No!" Lynx shouted.
"Lynx, I believe you attempted suicide, just look at your wrist.".
Lynx looked down on her gauze-wrapped wrist, it did look like she did, but why would she?
"There are several scratches on your wrist, the scratches were obviously caused by a sharp object. Do you know what happened?".
"Honestly, no. I just remember I was on the side of my bed and blacked out.".
"Hmm... I wish I could tell you what exactly happened, but I can't see into the past.".
Lynx sighed.
"Just be glad that Prince Keith was there to help you.".
Dr. Mark smiled at Lynx, hoping for her to return the smile, but, instead, she just stared at here wrist, dumbfounded.
"I will see you in a few hours for a test or two, I must go see the blacksmith for something," Mark said exiting the room with the nurse.
"Ugh! Where's the blacksmith?!" Mark yelled when he was out the door.
After he and the nurse left the room, the window opened loudly, while a cyan and rainbow blob rushed into the room.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I just need to say hello to my friend," the colorful pony said, standing up.
"Rainbow Dash!" Lynx yelled as Rainbow went to go hug her.
"Where have you been?" Rainbow Dash asked as they let go of their hug.
"Well, you know, defending the Dark Side of Equestria from evil and handling royal stuff, the usual.".
"Ha! So now another one of my friends is a princess? Nice!"
"So, uh, how did you get into the hospital anyway?" Dash asked.
"I honestly don't know, I blacked out and suddenly puffed here."
"Oh."
Everything was silent except for the ticking of a small clock on the wall of the room.
Tick tock...
Tick tock...
Tick tock...
"So, um, Lynx, there was actually something I wanted to talk to you about," Rainbow Dash said with a touch of concern in her eyes.
"Okay, what is it?" Lynx asked.
"Well, while I was walking through the Everfree Forest, I saw this pony that looked a lot like you-know-who.".
"You mean...".
"Yes, Brax has returned.".
Meanwhile...
"Sister, why doesn't Princess Lynx talk to me? I apologized for the eternal night follower," Princess Luna said, looking up at her sister sadly.
"Little sister, somethings you can't just apologize for," Princess Celestia said looking down at Luna.
Princess Luna looked down at her hooves and sighed.
"Do you think she'll ever forgive me?" Luna asked, eyes full of hope.
    Right before the immortal god could answer, Princess Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Apple Jack, and Rarity came galloping in.
"Princess Celestia!" Princess Twilight Sparkle shouted.
"Yes, Twilight?" Celestia answered, eyes full of concern.
"Rainbow Dash went to through the Everfree Forest and she saw what she thinks was Brax.".
    Princess Celestia sighed, got off her throne, and walked over to her glass window.
"I knew this day would come. Luna!" Celestia called.
"Yes, sister?" Luna asked.
"I want you to tell the guards to keep on high alert around all of Equestria. Tell them that I am going with Twilight and her friends to the forest."
"Yes, sister," Luna said, with that she galloped to the head of the royal guard.
"Guard!" Luna called.
"Yes, Princess?" The captain answered.
"You need to watch over the castle more carefully from here on out. We think we are under a threat, Celestia's orders.".
"Yes, Princess Luna!" The guard said, saluting her, then galloping to the other officers.
Princess Luna sighed and slowly walked to her dark room. When she entered her room, she went to her bed and plopped onto her bed.
"I really hope Princess Twilight Sparkle is wrong this time," Luna thought to herself, sighing.
"I sure don't want Lynx getting hurt or captured again...".
~Back at the Castle~
"So much to do... So much to do..." Tasuku said, shelving books. "Ugh, I need an assistant.".
"What a minute, who is that?" Tasuku looked out the library window to see a white alicorn, with several other ponies following.
"Is that... Princess Celestia? With Twilight and her friends? What the hay are they doing here?".

                         Chapter 3

Chapter 3
"Princess!" Tasuku exclaimed while bowing his head. "What are you doing here?".
"Hello to you too, Tasuku, you may rise," Princess Celestia greeted.
"I'm sorry, I've been a little jumpy since the incident that happened this morning, um, good morning Princess. If I may ask, what are you doing here?".
"It is alright Tasuku, to answer your question, I was looking for my sister, Princess Lynx.".
"Not to alarm you, Dear Princess, but everyone is at the hospital because Princess Lynx had to be rushed to the hospital this morning, this is what the incident this morning was.".
"Oh my goodness!" Fluttershy exclaimed.
"Is she alright?" Applejack asked, eyes full of concern.
Thud!
Everyone turned behind them to find Lynx, wrist bandaged and eyes full of determination. Even though she stood up firmly for a few moments, she began to lose her balance, but, just before she fell to the ground, Applejack and Fluttershy ran to her side to help their friend stand.
"Whoa there sugercube!" Applejack exclaimed. "I can tell just by looking at ya, ya need to go back to the hospital."
"I'm fine, AJ," the wounded princess said giving Applejack a reassuring smile." Plus there are far more important things than my health, like all of Equestria.".
"If you say so Ly.".
"Anyway, I assume you heard the news, Celestia," Lynx said, getting back on her hooves to confront her sister.
"Yes, I have, little sister. You know you can call me Tia," Princess Celestia answered.
"I rather not, Celestia.".
There was an awkward and uncomfortable pause.
"Well I have to prepare for battle, again," Lynx snapped, walking past everyone.
"W-well alright, I guess I will talk to you, sister," Celestia said turning away.
"No... I need to say what's on my mind..." Princess Lynx thought.
"You know what? It was your fault!" Lynx said, pointing a hoof at Celestia.
"Excuse me?" Princess Celestia asked.
"It was your fault that Luna turned into Nightmare Moon. I always tried to help her, but she didn't want my help, she wanted yours! She even came to you, but you pushed her away, like you do with everyone else! If it wasn't for your ignorance my adopted parents wouldn't have died that way!".
"Now hold on, 'Princess Lynx'!" Rarity interrupted. "You cannot, and I mean you cannot, talk to the Princess of Equestria that way!".
"Rarity! This is one of those things where ya need to put yer hoof where yer mouth is!" Applejack said. " She hasn't seen her sister in years! Ly and Princess Celestia need to work this out!".
"Thank you, Applejack," Lynx thanked. "Anyway, another thing, you never do anything by yourself, you always tell the girls to go and do all your dirty work, why don't you get off your rump and do things yourself, you're like a goddess for goodness sake?!".
Princess Celestia was speechless. There was another awkward silence.
Then, suddenly, the immortal princess began to walk towards her little sister, in fear that she was about to hit her, Lynx flinched, but, instead of a hoof across the face, she felt arms around her shoulders.
"I know, Lynx, and I regret it so much, I know that if it was not for me, you wouldn't have had to keep it in for so long. I wish I could reverse time just to stop Luna, but, sadly, no one has made that spell or potion yet. All I can say is that I am so sorry that you had to go through, all because of me."
Lynx began to start to cry into her big sister's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Tia! I shouldn't blame it all on you! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Lynx sobbed hugging her big sister back.
Princess Celestia began to teary-eye also.
"I am not the one you should be apologizing to, little sister.".
An hour later...
"Lynx! Snap out of it!" Princess Diamond said, clapping her hooves in front of Lynx, trying to snap her out of the sea of thought.
"Oh yeah, battle strategy!" Lynx began.  "Okay, as we know from all these 'sightings' that have been popping up in the Everfree Forest, we know that Brax is back so this is what we need to do. We attack him in his weak spot when he least expects it.".
"Are you sure we need to use this strategy?" Prince Keith questioned.
"I'm sure, we, of course, don't need to attack now, we will just double our scouts and guards around the perimeters of the castle and The Dark Side, this shows we are ready for him, but he won't expect it when we take them all in by sun rise. At least that's what he'll think we're doing, we'll actually have them hidden," Lynx clarified. "Everyone got that?".
"Yes, Princess!" the head of the guard saluted.
"Now, go!" Lynx shouted.
With that, the head of the guard galloped off to give off Lynx's orders.
Lynx sighed and leaned back into her chair, holding her head in her hooves.
"Hey Lynx, can I talk to you?" Keith asked.
Lynx sighed again. "Yeah.".
Lynx got up from her chair and followed Prince Keith into the hallway in between their bedrooms.
"Okay, we need to talk," Keith said.
"Alright, shoot," Lynx answered.
"I just wanna ask why didn't you tell me you were there when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon? Better yet, why didn't you tell me were really over a thousand years old?"
"Who told you?".
"You and Mary don't know how to shut a door.".
Lynx sighed "Look I'm sorry, I just didn't want to talk about it to you because you would just say I was being over-dramatic when I say I wasn't over it.".
"Because that is! I'm sorry you went through that, but that is bull honkey if you hold a grudge over that!".
"I can't help it-"
"Yes you can!".
"No I can't just-"
"Yes you can-"
"Will you listen for one second?!".
"There is no reason for you to hold a grudge over something so stupid for so long!".
"I'm trying to explain!".
"You know what, there is no point in arguing over something stupid! Just explain!".
Lynx looked at the ground, she knew he would just ignore her and say that the reason was stupid, what's the point in trying?
Prince Keith's face contorted in anger, he opened the door to his room, slammed it behind him, and slid down the door to sit down. Lynx repeated this sequence.
Lynx began to cry until she heard a tapping at her window. She wiped away her tears and started walking towards the balcony window.
"Rainbow Dash?" Lynx thought.
But when Lynx moved the curtains away from the window, she saw a big green dragon with purple wings.
"Dynasty!" Lynx shouted, running onto the balcony to hug the dragon's neck.
"Hello, Lynx," Dynasty said, wrapping and arm around the alicorn's body.
"Where have you been?" Lynx asked, letting go of the dragon.
"Just went home to visit my family," Dynasty answered, letting go also.
"How have they been?".
"My mom finally got better.".
"That's good.".
"You've been crying.".
"Yeah, Keith and I had a fight.".
"What about?".
"Just about the whole Nightmare Moon thing, and why I never told him.".
"Well, you shouldn't keep things from your boyfriend, but I don't think y'all should have a fight about, y'all just need to sit down and talk about it.".
"I know, I think he was just worried about me because of the whole hospital thing that happened this morning.".
"I heard about that," Dynasty said, getting a quick look at Lynx's wrapped-up wrist." That's the main reason I came back to see if you're okay, and, to be honest, I think you need to stay in the hospital.".
"I know, but I have a kingdom to defend, my personal health is not important, Brax is back.".
"Oh my gosh! Not again.".
"Now you see why I left?".
"I do, um, by the way, I think someone is about to knock.".
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"Physic," Lynx said, turning back to Dynasty.
"That is my power, I'll come back later, Lynx," Dynasty said taking off.
TDSOE Fun Fact #1: All dragons have one special power, for example: Seeing things others can't, Physic, being able to shoot water and fire, etc.
"See ya, Bonehead," Lynx said, walking towards the door.
Lynx opened the door.
It was Prince Keith.
"I'm sorry, Lynx. I shouldn't have yelled at you, I'm just worried about you and-"
Keith was interrupted by a kiss by Princess Lynx.
"You talk too much," Lynx said while breaking the kiss and then connecting it again.
...
That night...
"Hello?" Princess Mary asked, questioning the dark abyss she was in. "Anyone here?".
"Yes, Princess Mary, I am here," Brax answered, stepping out so that Mary could see him.
"You! Stay back!" Mary cried, attempting to shoot him with a blast of magic, but ultimately failed.
"There's no need for that, dear Mary, I just had a proposal for you.".
"There is no way in heck I would negotiate  with you!".
"Oh come on, I know you have been reading my Dark Magic books I left in the library, I know you want to learn.".
"No I don't! I read those out of curiosity!".
"Oh really?".
Brax's horn glowed with his dark magic, then it threw magic at Mary, blasting her with the magic.
"Now do you want to join my side?" Brax asked, holding out a hoof towards Mary.
"Yes, Brax.".

                         Chapter 5

Chapter 5
A few weeks later...
"Lynx was one of the best friends I ever had," Rainbow Dash said. "We would always fly together and just hang out during collage and high school, she helped me through tough times and I tried to help her with her's. Even though I stink at pep-talk. I... I... LYYYNNNXXX!".
Rainbow Dash dashed out of the church, sobbing, with Soarin chasing after her.
"Sorry 'bout that everyone," Applejack said, gloomily. "Rainbow is just upset that's all. But to continue Lynx was a very important pony to all of us and-"
Applejack was interrupted by the loud doors opening. A dark hooded figure walked down the aisle to the altar.
"May I speak in honor of Lynx?" the hooded figure asked.
"I-I guess so," Applejack said, suspicious of the hooded figure.
The figure walked up the steps leading up to the podium, then it put it's front two legs on the podium.
"I remember when Lynx and I were little," the figure began. "We always played together and we were best of friends until the third grade and it kinda faded away, but that's alright. I know she still cared until the end, even when I-I...".
Tears fell down onto the pages of the book that was on the podium.
The figure took it's hood off, "I should know.".
Everyone gasped at the now unhooded figure, who was revealed to be Brax.
"Seize him!" one of the royal guards said.
"Stop!" Princess Birdie commanded, standing up. "I think we can trust him." Then she sat down.
"Alright Princess," the guard said reluctantly, signalling the other guards to halt.
"Are you crazy?!" Pinkie pie and Diamond whispered simultaneously.
"Yes, I am," Princess Birdie said.
Brax cleared his throat, "Anyway, Lynx was an important person to me and everyone for that matter. I'm not gonna lie when I said I had a crush on her. I did get jealous of Keith, but I didn't want to hurt Keith, I wanted to show Lynx the pain I felt by giving it straight back to Lynx, but now that I've done it, I can't say I'm happy. I regret it," there was a pause. "Thank you.".
Brax got off the stage and then exited the church.
After this, the funeral ended.
While Princess Mary and Diamond returned to their bedrooms, Princess Birdie decided to check on Prince Keith since he didn't come to the funeral.
"Keith?" Birdie asked, knocking on his door.
"What?" Keith answered softly.
"Can I come in?".
"No...".
Ignoring the answer, Birdie slowly opened the door and quietly slipped in.
Keith was laying on the bed, starring at the ceiling, and his hair in a mess.
"Are you okay?" Birdie asked.
"I don't know," Keith groaned.
Birdie sighed, she had enough of this.
"Keith, I need you to come with me," Birdie said.
"Why?" Keith asked.
"Don't ask questions, just come with me.".
"Why?".
"Stop feeling sorry for yourself.".
"I don't care.".
"I don't want to say this, but I'm going to anyway. Do you think Lynx would like to see you like this?".
"... Fine, but only for Lynx.".
Keith got up and followed Birdie to the destination.
A few minutes later...
"Why are we here?" Keith asked, emotionless.
"Well, you need to say good-bye," Birdie said.
Birdie had taken Keith to where Lynx was buried. There, engraved on her tombstone, was Princess Lynx, her cutie mark, and the words: "Stay strong.".
"Look, you can't just stay in your room and sulk all day," Birdie said.
"And why not?" Keith asked.
"Because you need to accept it and live life!".
"Fine, but I need to do this alone.".
"Okay then, see you at home.".
With that, Birdie headed off towards to the castle.
Keith stepped closer to the grave and sat in the front of it, looking at her name.
"Okay, where do I start?" Keith began. " Lynx, I'm sorry I couldn't save you, but I couldn't do anything, my power was too weak for me to do a healing spell, I just wish I could've done something to prevent this, because I-I'm- I'm...".
For the first time in weeks, Keith was crying but he continued.
"I'm broken without you, I was supposed to defend you and I failed that. I'm sorry I didn't come to your funeral, I was just feeling sorry for myself and I just couldn't face it. I really miss you...".
Keith put his forehead against Lynx's tombstone, "I love you...".
While he was crying, he had a flashback of almost every moment he and Lynx had together, when they first met, when she was in the forth grade, entered the talent show and sang Broken, when she asked him out, their first fight, their first break-up, their first get-together, when they won all those band competitions, their first kiss in high school, graduation, when they said good bye before they went to collage, when they fought in their first war, when he and his friends saved her from Brax, when they were crowned princes and princesses, when they moved in together, when they fought and sang together, when he proposed, fought in battle, and the final moment they had together, when Lynx died.
"Keith," a familiar voice called.
No way, that voice sounded too familiar, it couldn't be...
"Lynx?" Keith called back.
"Where are you, Keith?".
"I'm right here!".
Keith ran all around, frantically looking for the voice whom called him. Then he turned around.
Behind him, was a radiant red alicorn, with a familiar mane but with blue and black instead of the infamous red and blue, and her cutiemark was a pony skull.
"Lynx?" Keith asked again.
The figure smiled and nodded.
One year later...
"Keith, hurry up!" Princess Diamond shouted. "What is taking you so long?".
"This tie is not cooperating!" Keith shouted back.
"I'll help him, you go check on Lynx," Princess Birdie said.
"Alright," Princess Diamond said, entering Lynx's dressing room.
"Keith! I'm coming in!" Birdie yelled, entering Keith's room.
Inside the room, Prince Josh was facehoofing while Keith was trying to adjust the tie.
"Why aren't you helping him?" Birdie asked Josh.
"I tried to but Keith didn't want my help," Josh answered
Birdie sighed, walked over to Keith, and tied his neck tie in one try.
"How?" Keith asked.
"I'm just that amazing," Birdie replied with a smirk. "Now you need to get out there, walk down that aisle, and marry the luckiest girl in the world!".
"Thanks, Birdie.".
With that Birdie left the room and Keith looked towards Josh.
"So who are you walking with, again?" Keith asked.
"Applejack, we aren't together or anything but she didn't have anyone to walk with," Josh answered.
"Oh, who's walking Diamond, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie?".
"This colt named Kingston is walking Diamond, Soarin is walking Rainbow Dash, Discord is walking with Fluttershy, and Cheese Sandwich is walking with Pinkie Pie.".
"Who are the flower girls?".
"Two of the girls who call themselves the Cutiemark Crusaders, Sweetie Bell and Applebloom, but Scootaloo is the ring bearer.".
"Lastly, who is giving Lynx away?".
"She actually didn't tell me.".
Just as Josh finished that sentence, the trumpets blew to signal the start of the wedding.
"That's our cue, see you at the alter," Josh said, exiting the room.
After Josh exited the room, Keith looked in the mirror one last time, adjusted his tie, turned around, and walked out of the room.
"Everyone smiling, be proud, and look great!" Princess Diamond said, taking a tan unicorn with a black hair's arm, must have been Kingston.
Princess Celestia walked towards the podium and stood behind it, opening a book while Keith walked to his spot on the right of the alter.
Princess Birdie, Keith's best mare, walked in wearing a while dress with purple roses on the sleeve and she wore a purple headband, walking to the side of Keith.
Then, the bridesmaids, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Diamond, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie, escorted by the groomsmen, Soarin, Josh, Kingston, Discord, and Cheese Sandwich, walked in taking their rightful spots.
Even though, the audience was a little startled, at first, by Discord escorting Fluttershy, given the recent events, they knew Fluttershy had converted Discord to good.
The bridesmaids were wearing simple white dresses with a red rose on the sleeve and in their hair as a clip.
Then, the maid of honor, Princes Mary, walked down the aisle to her required spot wearing the same dress and headpiece as the rest of the bridesmaids.
Next, the ring bearer, Scootaloo, walked down aisle, the cushion with rings on it strapped to her back, in a black tux.
As much as Diamond thought it was formal for Scootaloo to wear a dress, Lynx said it didn't matter because Scootaloo was the ring bearer and not a flower girl. That relieved Scootaloo because, being more of a tom-boy, didn't like wearing dresses unless she absolutely had to.
Next, the flower girls, Sweetie Bell and Applebloom, hopped towards their place next to the bridesmaid, throwing their petals everywhere.
Finally, Princess Lynx, wearing a black and blue gown that flowed beautifully behind her, walked down the aisle, with Brax as her escort, smiling, her gorgeous mane flowing behind her.
Everyone was shocked to see that Brax, the stallion who hypnotized Mary to kill Lynx, was giving the girl he killed away.
"Mares and gentlecolts," Princess Celestia began. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Princess Lynx and Prince Keith, their commitment is strong, their love: undeniable. May we have the necklaces, please?".
Scootaloo walked up to Princess Celestia and gestured for her to take the necklaces. She took the necklaces with her magic and placed the individually upon the couple's necks.
"I now pronounce you mare and colt! You may kiss the bride!".
Lynx was crying tears of joy while Keith turned back to Lynx, smiling. They leaned in and kissed.
When this happened, the whole place was engulfed in a bright light, the crowd averted their eyes until the light faded down, when the crowd looked back up at the couple, they were quite shocked to see that not only has Lynx's hair went back to red and blue, but she had grown taller, and her horn grew a few inches.
At first, everypony just starred amazed at what just happened, but then cheered in excitement and happiness.
"Rainbow," Applejack said, nudging Rainbow Dash.
"Oh yeah!" Rainbow Dash yelled, then flying out of the church and did a sonic rainboom.
Keith and Lynx broke the kiss but Keith was slightly confused when he looked at his wife, seeing how she changed, but shook it off and smiled knowing how long he waited for this moment.
The couple then walked back down the aisle, the crowd following them to the ballroom.
After this, they had the oh-so-orginal wife and husband dance together, smiling and dancing to a beautiful song played by Octavia herself.
"They do make an adorable couple," Fluttershy said, looking up to her coltfriend, Discord.
"Agreed, though something is missing," Discord agreed, stroking his goat-tee mischievously.
"Don't even think about it, Discord!" Rainbow dash shouted, walking with her boyfriend beside her. "You better not ruin this for Lynx!".
"Oh, please, you think I'm that heartless?".
"Yes.".
"Why you little-"
"Hey!" Fluttershy butted in, going in between the two competitive creatures. "This is going to be a peaceful wedding... You don't want to ruin it.".
Discord sighed. "You're right, we should be more civil.".
"Thank you.".
After Fluttershy turned her back, Discord stuck his tongue out at Rainbow Dash, she replied with the same gesture.
The dance ended and, while Keith hung out with Soarin and Rainbow Dash, Lynx went over to Discord and talked with him.
"I'm so glad to see you showed up," Lynx said, jokingly.
Discord chuckled. "I couldn't miss a wedding I was a part in.".
"True.".
There was a small pause in between the two.
"So, if I'm not mistaken, I heard you have a new bun in the oven," Discord said, breaking the silence.
"You are not mistaken, I heard that you're going to pop the question soon," Lynx said, a smirk appearing on her face.
"Oh! Um... Maybe? I don't know.".
"Why not?".
"Uh... I mean, it's such a big decision.".
"Oh! Is the Lord of Chaos scared?".
"No... I just... Oh look! Fluttershy is coming back!".
"I hate to interrupt but..." Fluttershy said, walking towards Lynx. "The ceremony is almost over.".
"Oh my Celestia! Look at the time!" Lynx shouted. "Keith, come on!".
Everyone gathered up at the entrance while Keith and Lynx ran out the door, getting pelted by bubbles (Pinkie-Pie's touch), getting up in the carriage, and going back to the castle.
Two years later...
"Keith! I'm home!" Lynx called.
"Mommy!" a little purple filly shouted, running to hug her mom.
"Hi, Lora!".
"Hey Lynx," Keith greeted, giving a side hug to his wife. "So can you tell me what the surprise was?".
"Well is everyone here?".
"Yes," Brax, Birdie, Diamond, Mary, and Josh said at the same time.
"Well, I went to the doctors today and um-"
"Are you sick?" Princess Diamond asked, interrupting Lynx.
"No..''.
"Then why did you go to the doctor's?".
"I'm about to tell you-"
"Because I find that quite pointless and-"
"I'm pregnant! Okay? I'm pregnant!".
There was a small silence. Then a cheer from everyone.
"I'm gonna have a baby sister or brother!" Lora cheered.
"Yup, another filly," Prince Keith said, still shocked.
Lynx picked up Lora with her left hoof and kissed her on the cheek.
"Another filly...".

Chapter 4
"Lynx, tell me what the problem is," Keith said with concern in his eyes. "Why haven't you got over this.".
Keith and Lynx sat together on the red couch together, trying to figure what has happened in the last few months. Keith knew he would have to take notes so he brought his saddle bags with a pin and paper, but what Lynx didn't know he brought a small box with him also.
It was the morning after since the argument and kiss, they even missed breakfast.
"Well," Lynx began. "I'm not only having nightmares about Brax.".
"What do you mean?".
"I'm also having dreams about that night, no twist or anything, just that night.".
"Do you think it's Brax's doings?".
"I know it's his doings. I've long gotten over this.".
"I think he is trying to get to you.".
"I know he is, but one thing I don't get is how I ended up in the hospital.".
"Did you attempt... you know.".
"I don't remember.".
"I'm sorry, Lynx. I wish I could help you remember.".
"Me too.".
"Lynx," Keith looked at his saddle bag. "I have to ask you something...".
"Ask away.".
Keith stepped off the couch and pulled out a small velvet box.
Lynx gasped in shock.
Keith opened it, inside was a ring with a chain around it.
Keith sighed and smiled.
"Lynx, you are very important to me, I love you. I know that I don't show it sometimes by not hugging you or kissing you, but I do love you. This is something that I've been wanting to ask, for weeks now. What I'm trying to say is, I'd like to, um, get married. With you, and only you. Will you marry me, Lynx?".
Lynx began to cry tears of joy and jumped into Keith's arms, making them fall onto the ground.
"Yes!" Lynx shouted.
Then, suddenly, Lynx kissed Keith, realizing what she was doing Lynx broke the kiss and got off of Keith.
"I'm sorry, I-"
Lynx was interrupted by a kiss from Keith.
Another tear fell from her eye.
Shocked, but happy, Lynx closed her eyes and kissed back.
After they broke the kiss and Lynx put on the engagement ring necklace, there was a knock at the door.
Princess Lynx stood up, helped her fiance up to his hooves, walked to the door, and opened the door. It was Prince Josh.
"What is it, Josh?" Lynx asked, concerned.
"The princesses and I were concerned for you, Keith, and Mary because you didn't come to breakfast, I was just making sure you all were alright," Prince Josh answered.
"Well, Keith and I are here, but Mary isn't, are you sure she isn't in the library or in her room?".
"We've checked everywhere, no one has seen her.".
"That's odd.".
"Princess! Princess!" a deep voice shouted.
Shortly after the voice shouted, the head of the guard appeared next to Prince Josh.
"Yes, sir?" Princess Lynx asked, even more concerned.
"Brax and his minions! They are on their way to The Dark Side!".
Lynx gasped. "Alert my sisters, immediately!".
"Yes, Princess!".
With that command, the head of the guard galloped away to order the other guards.
Lynx looked towards Keith and then Josh.
"Don't just stand there! Get ready!" Lynx commanded.
"Right!" Keith and Josh said, galloped to their rooms.
"This is war...".
Princess Lynx galloped over to her bed-side table, opened the drawer, and took out a pen and paper.
Dear Princess Birdie...
Meanwhile...
"Princess Birdie, Princess Diamond!" Prince Keith called.
"What's wrong, what's going on?" Birdie asked.
"Brax is about to attack, we need to get ready!".
Princess Birdie and Princess Diamond looked at each other, and without saying another word, the two mares galloped off to their room.
"Well that was easy," Prince Josh said. "Too easy."
Back to Lynx...
After Princess Lynx was done writing her letter, she heard a tapping at the balcony window again.
I'm not even going to try to guess...
Princess Lynx walked over to her window, opened the curtains, and opened the window.
Luna...
"Why are you on my balcony?" Lynx asked, slight annoyance in her voice.
"I heard you were in the hospital, but came back, I was making sure you were alright," the Princess of the Night answered.
"Well as you can see, I am perfectly fine and even if I wasn't in good health we have bigger issues to deal with.".
"I see.".
There was a slight pause.
"Lynx, I have something to tell you or, rather, show you," Princess Luna said, breaking the silence.
"What is it Luna?" Lynx asked.
"Let me show you.".
Suddenly, Lynx and Luna were teleported to a blank white space full of screens with what looked like most of Lynx's dreams and memories. What am I talking about they were all of Lynx's dreams and memories.
"Luna, these are all my-" Lynx began to say.
"Yes, these are all of your memories and dreams, but there is one memory in particular I want to show you," Luna interrupting Lynx, walking her to the panel that she need to show Lynx. "Lynx, this was the morning, when you were rushed to the hospital.".
"I remember this, I thought it was just a dream.".
"No, little sister. This was an actual event. Shall we continue?
Lynx hesitated for a moment. "Yes.".
With a glow of her alicorn horn, she began to play the memory.
In the memory...
Princess Lynx sat on the edge of her bed sobbing into her hooves. After a few moments of this, yellow eyes with purple smoke coming out of the corners stood behind Lynx's crying body. It then disappears and Lynx glows with the evil magic for a total of 3 seconds but then stops.
Lynx then looks at her bed-side table, pulls out the drawer, gets a knife, slits her wrists, then stabs her shoulder.
Then, Keith walks in and walks out of her room with a passed out and bloody Lynx, but, but for only a second, we see Brax smiling evilly at the door.
End of memory...
Princess Lynx stood there in shock that she actually did that, not only that, it wasn't a dream, it was all true.
"That's what I wanted to show you, I am sorry that I had to show it too," Princess Luna said, breaking the silence again. "Trust me, I am just as shocked as you are-"
Luna was interrupted by Lynx, hugging her. Lynx hasn't hugged Luna in years, but, although she was shocked, she hugged back, she missed and longed for the hugs from her little sister and now she had gotten what she wished for a long time.
"Thank you, Luna. I really needed to know what happened," Lynx said smiling. "I would also like to apologize for my behavior and ignoring you for all these years, I missed you Lu-Lu.".
Although Luna knew that nickname was stolen from Discord, and she hated that nickname, but she would always make an exception for Lynx, because she loved Lynx.
After they broke the hug, they were teleported back into Lynx's room and Lynx realized that she had to get ready for a war.
"Oh my gosh! Luna we have to get ready for battle, but first, I want you to give these letters to Princess Diamond and Princess Birdie, tell them it's from me and they can't read it until after the war," Lynx ordered.
"Alright, be safe, sister," Luna said, exiting through Lynx's bedroom door.
I'll try...
A few minutes later...
Everyone was in their armor, ready for battle, and of course with their weapon of choice.
Lynx with her Scythe and Keith, Diamond, Josh, and Birdie with their swords.
They, the other Princesses, Twilight's friends and brother, and the entire royal guard was on the good side and, Brax and his demon-like minions on the opposite side, but, there was a pony in a long hooded cloak beside Brax, no pony knew who it was.
This was the final fight, the final fight against what is good and what is evil. This is war.
"Brax! You have one last chance to surrender!" Princess Lynx said.
Brax laughed evilly and smirked. "Like I would surrender to you!".
"So be it!".
Princess Lynx let out a battle cry, which was then followed by a whole group of battle cries from the good and bad army.
Then, each army began to merge into a war. All a pony could hear would be weapons clashing and screams from fallen ponies, this war was bloody, any pony would've figured that out.
"Lynx!" Princess Diamond called. "I'm surrounded!".
"I got your back!" Princess Lynx replied, backing up the hot pink alicorn.
Lynx killed the surrounding minions with a swift swing of her scythe.
"Thanks!" Diamond shouted.
"No problem," Lynx said.
"Lynx," a calm, familiar, voice called.
"Who is that?" Lynx asked, dodging attacks.
"Lynx.".
"I'm coming!" Lynx answered, going towards the unknown voice while killing more of the minions.
Lynx chased after the voice until she was in the Everfree Forest and saw what she thought was disembodied voice, the hooded figure that stood by Brax earlier.
"What do you want?" Lynx asked, holding her scythe with her magic.
The hooded figure, took the hood off, it was Mary.
"Mary?" Lynx asked in shock to see one of her best friends. "What are you doing on Brax's side?".
"Doing something I should've done a long time ago!" Mary answered, drawing her sword and attempting to attack Lynx.
Lynx dodged and took off in the air, Mary followed. Lynx tried to fly away, but she wasn't fast enough and Mary caught up to her, without noticing, they were above the battlefield.
"What are you doing?!" Lynx asked blocking Mary's attack with her scythe.
"Trying to fight you!" Mary answered, slashing with her sword again.
"Why?! I thought you were my best friend!".
"You thought wrong! You were nothing but a toy to my own game!".
"No! You were there for me and I was there for you, you can't believe what you're saying!".
"No! You were never for me, I was always there for you! You never truly cared for me!".
"Yes I did!".
"Liar!" With that final quote, Mary stabbed Lynx in the torso.
Mary looked Lynx in the eye while holding the sword in Lynx's stomach. "You never cared for me, and now, you will die!".
Then, in one fluid motion, Mary took the sword out, letting Lynx fall, but, just in time, Prince Keith got a bad feeling and looked up at the sky just in time to see Lynx fall.
Keith, in a flash, killed off the minion he was fighting, he flew up to catch Lynx, landed back on the ground, made a force field around the two of them so that no one could interfere, he looked into Lynx's dying eyes, and let a tear fall down his face.
"Hey, you," Lynx said in raspy voice. "Don't cry for me, you need to stay strong, you got a kingdom to run and a war to win, I need you to do something for me."
"Anything," Keith replied holding back tears.
"I need you to smile, I don't wanna die seeing you crying.".
Keith smiled sadly, Lynx put a hoof on his cheek, and, then, she was gone, just like that.
Keith held Lynx close to his chest one last time then stood up. He let the tears fall, but he wasn't only sad, he was full of rage. He let out his front right leg and gripped a gigantic black and blue scythe.
This scythe had a black handle, a silver blade with a blue bandage wrapped around the top of the handle.
The Infuriated Prince let down the force field and looked all around in search of Brax.
"Brax! Where are you?!" Keith screamed.
"Over here!"shouted Brax, taunting Keith.
Brax stroke Keith in the shoulder with his sword, making Keith flinch. Then, suddenly, the two enemies were teleported to a dark space. Keith looked around frantically trying to find Brax. Then, he saw those evil eyes, he knew all too well and he lunged forward leaving a scar on his eye.
Brax flinched and lunged forward, but Keith blocked him, then put the scythe up to his neck then pushing him against the wall. For once, Keith saw fear and pain in Brax's eyes. Keith replaced the scythe with his left front leg to raise his scythe.
When Brax didn't feel that last bit of pain he opened his eyes and saw that, not only was he not against the wall, but Keith was also sitting on the other side of the area.
Brax walked cautiously over to Keith.
"Why didn't you kill me?" Brax asked, shocked.
"I may be angry, but I am not a monster like you," Keith answered.
Brax looked shocked at the young alicorn. Then he teleported back to the war with Keith.
Brax flew above the battle. "Stop!" Brax shouted. "We surrender!"
Then, all the minions disappeared and all that was left was ninety percent of the good side, including Diamond, Keith, Josh and Birdie plus Brax and Mary.
Brax flew back down and stood in front of the good side.
"I'm sorry," Brax said boldly.
There were a few shocked gasps and whispers throughout the good side.
"I shouldn't have done these things to everyone, I was wrong," Brax paused for a moment. "I shouldn't have done these things just because I was jealous of everyone because they had friends and loves and I never did." Brax concluded. "I'm sorry.".
Brax then teleported away.
Mary then came out of the forest with a hoof on her head.
"What the heck hap-"
Mary then saw what she did. "No... No! NO!".
Mary ran to Lynx's side.
"NO!".
