It was a cold, winter day in The EverFree Forest. There lived a mare in a wooden log cabin. Her name was Harmony. She had dark indigo eyes, a lavender mane, and was a unicorn. Harmony was also in love with music, and had made a flute out of wood from when she found the old abandoned cabin, which was now after years of rebuilding in good shape. Harmony decided to take a walk one morning, even if it was cold, she was sure to grab a scarf. As she wondered, she admired the beautiful winter scenery the forest set. Harmony then heard a low growl, it was the sound of a timberwolf. Good thing she ran before it got to her, but as she ran, she tripped over a root of a tree.
Harmony shouted, "Ah!" Then after she got up, she took a closer look at the tree. It seemed to be made of a crystal-material, and was really bright and flawless.
"What is this? I've never seen such a tree around here." Harmony said to herself. As she took an even closer look, she noticed colorful shapes engraved in it. Harmony used her magic to remove the shapes, mistaking them for jewels.
Back in Canterlot, Princess Celestia shook unsteadily.
Princess Luna asked, "What's wrong, sister?"
"The Tree has been disturbed! Get Cadance and Twilight, we're going to be having some unexpected company." Princess Celestia stated.
Princess Luna nodded and flew off to retrieve the two princesses.
Meanwhile, back at the tree, Harmony felt tingly. "W-What's happening to me?!" Harmony exclaimed. She was turned into a golden mist and transported to Canterlot Castle in an instant. Next thing she knew, she looked up and saw the four princesses glaring at her from their thrones.
Princess Celestia saw the young unicorn shaking, and said, "Do not be afraid, we're only going to ask you a few questions."
Harmony asked, "W-Where am I? Who are you? Why do you need to ask me questions?"
The four princesses all exchanged confused glances. "Surely, you must know us, we're the Rulers of Equestria." Princess Cadance said.
Princess Luna questioned, "Um, what do you remember about Equestria?"
Harmony replied, "Well, I remember this weird looking creature. The clouds also used to be pink and rain chocolate milk. I think he had something to do with it, though. I also remember the roads being turned into soap, and the rivers into grape juice..."
Princess Celestia answered, "Sorry for cutting you off, but do you mean Discord, or as you may know him, The Lord of Chaos?"
"Y-Yes, but is he still here? He scared me, and many of the ponies." Harmony shook at the thought.
Princess Luna responded, "You have no need to fear, he is no longer a threat."
Harmony sighed, and then Princess Cadance asked her, "So, dear, what is your name?"
"I'm Harmony." The unicorn replied.
Princess Celestia spoke, "I don't think you quite know us, I'm Princess Celestia, this is my sister, Princess Luna, my niece, Princess Cadance, and her sister-in-law, Princess Twilight Sparkle."
Twilight blushed in embarrassment, "Or Twilight or Princess Twilight is fine, really, I don't take kindly to the title. I just think it makes me an attention-hog or something, that's all."
Harmony replied, "I see, but, why am I here, and what is this place?"
Twilight responded, "This is Canterlot Castle, and you're here because our..." She gasped when she saw the elements behind Harmony.
Princess Celestia questioned, "Why do you have The Elements of Harmony, and how did you get them?"
Harmony looked nervous and scared, but answered shakily, "Um, y-you see, I was just taking a walk, and I tripped over a branch, then I found this really beautiful tree. I saw the g-gems inside and wanted to take a closer look at t-them."
"How did you get them out? Only me and the other princesses know that spell." Princess Celestia replied.
Princess Luna gasped, and then whispered, "Twilight, Cadance, Tia, can I speak to you in private?"
Princess Cadance said, "Uh, Harmony, me and the others need to talk alone for a minute, could you excuse us? Just make yourself at home. We'll be returning."
Harmony responded, "S-Sure."
The four alicorns walked into a room full of stain-glassed windows. Princess Luna said, "She could be the one from the prophecy!"
Twilight gasped, "You can't be serious!"
"Take a look at the windows, Twilight." Princess Luna remarked.
Princess Cadance replied, "Sure, she looks like the mare in the prophecy, but she can't possibly...she just...could she?"
Twilight asked, "What about the other five? Do you think they'll get along? They can't get along together as it is now. They can't be the new Spirits of Harmony."
Princess Celestia smiled, "I'm sure that everything will be fine, and we should get back. Tomorrow morning, we'll get all six of them together. Twilight, you know you and your friends are no longer connected to the elements since Tirek's defeat. It's been nearly fifteen years, and it's time for new faces to take on the responsibility. Within time, they can learn to be friends. Remember, Twilight, you had the same difficulty accepting friends when you found out."
"Yes, but...oh, fine. I'll send them letters once we get Harmony fitted in." Twilight finished off.
The four princesses walked back into the throne room, Harmony was just sitting there, blinking at the floor in boredom and nervousness.
Princess Cadance smiled, "Good news, Harmony! You get to stay in the castle for a couple days!"
Harmony's eyes lit up, "R-Really?"
Princess Celestia nodded, "It's the least we can do, and we also have some very special ponies we'd like you to meet tomorrow. So, be sure to get lots of rest, and we'll see you in the morning. Twilight will show you to your room."
Harmony grinned, "Thank you very much, your majesty's!"
Twilight walked down the staircase leading up to the thrones. "Okay, your room is down this way." Twilight said.
The two ponies walked down the long isle way, to a suite. As soon as Twilight opened the door, Harmony was speechless.
"H-Here? I get to stay...here?!" Harmony got excited.
Twilight smiled, "Yep, it's all yours for the next few days! There's a balcony, a feather-bed, a muffin basket, and a vanity. Oh, plus your own private bathroom."
Harmony said, "Thank you, no pony has ever done anything like this for me before! Well...that and because I've never really had any friends. I've lived in the EverFree Forest to stay safe from...I think you called him Discord earlier. I've been living there for nearly a thousand years."
Twilight chuckled nervously, "Well, let's just say, you'll have some friends tomorrow..." Twilight added silently, "Hopefully..."
Harmony asked, "What was that?"
"Oh, nothing, I just said I hope you enjoy your stay...goodnight!" Twilight left, and then Harmony yawned and hit the hay. She was excited to find out what tomorrow would bring her.
