Gabby Gums

This funny-but-all-too-true tale puts Babs Seed in one of the best roles of her beautifully-established entertainment career. Based on the Broadway play by Sunset Shimmer (who also wrote its theme song, which Babs sings in the story/film), GABBY GUMS tells us the story of news reporter Judy Lohmer. A handsome and attractive young pony, Lohmer is promoted to the editing position of a major column in the FOAL FREE PRESS called GABBY GUMS, from which a television program has just been spawned. When the television program becomes popular, its founding mother forces Lohmer to conjure untruths and expose other embarrassing secrets about the lives of other ponies. This leads to a large quarrel with GABBY GUMS' founder and Lohmer eventually castigates the founder's efforts on-air in front of many viewers, even her own friends and relatives who have heard of her new identity and have behaved hostilely toward her. This leads to a full-blown investigation into the founder's crimes and sees Lohmer victorious in her case against Diamond Tiara. GABBY GUMS is, as stated earlier, a funny-but-all-too-true tale that may help you think twice before picking up a gossip publication ever again.
