Onyx's Point Of View

Some months passed after my awakening, and my life returned to 'Normal.' I ended up transferring schools, but the huge debt was still present, and there was no sign of Discord anywhere. I was sent to juvenile prison, for a few weeks, until my father bailed me out by paying the debt. For some reason, I felt as if something inside of me was missing. I didn't have any enthusiasm to do pranks, my grades started to drop from the top, and most of my friends disappeared with time. I guess having my magic removed away from me made me realize just how powerless I really am inside.

Right now, I am currently in class, daydreaming and picturing what my life would've been like if magic was real. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time:

"12:30..." I whispered quietly as I turned my phone off and put it back into my pocket.

"Um, excuse you Onyx, you know can't be texting in my class, m'kay?" My sassy spanish teacher told me as she put her hands on her hips.

"I was just checking the time, ma'am." I responded with a bit of anger behind my voice, balling up my hand into a fist.

"Boy, you talk back to me one more time and I'll make sure you end up where you belong: In jail." She said with more sass than before. Her words made quite a few students turn their heads towards me and started whispering to each other. I felt massive amounts of rage build up inside of me, but I managed to contain all of it.

"Sorry, ma'am." I said through my teeth. She laughed at me for a few seconds and went on with the class. I swear I was a few seconds away from pulling my phone out of my pocket and crushing her fat head with it, but I knew I couldn't, for now at least.

The class went on for another twenty minutes, and then the bell rang, dismissing everyone to go to lunch. I waited until everyone stepped out of the classroom so I could leave in peace. I stood up from my desk, put on my back pack, and slowly walked down the hallway to the cafeteria. I was about to put my earphones on to listen to some music, but I was stopped by the voice of a girl.

"Um, excuse me, mister?" I turned around and saw something unbelievable. There she was, standing in front of me, the one and only:

"F-fluttershy?" I stuttered as I tried to stay calm.

"You know my name?" Fluttershy said as she moved some of her pink hair out of her face. I had to lie, and fast.

"Err... Yes... Some of my friends told me about you." That was technically not a lie, but it was the best I could do.

"Oh... okay..." She started to back up a bit.

"Hey, uh.... this might sound weird, but... can I hug you?" I said nervously. My mind was being torn up inside, so I thought hugging her would help me. She 'eeped' in response and backed up even more. Crap.... "You know what, I'm sor-"

"Okay..." She whispered. What? Really? She opened her arms invitingly, but looked away with a small blush on her face. I reached over to her and pulled her for a big hug. It was a weird feeling, I felt happy beyond belief, yet sad. I could smell her aroma, it was identical to the one she had when I rode on her back as a doll. I felt tears start to roll down my cheek slowly, yet I smiled. She was so warm, so sweet, so very different to what I was used to. She flinched a bit when she noticed I was crying, but started to pat my back gently.

"It's okay, sometimes, we all need a hug..." She said softly into my ear. I held on for a few more seconds, and then let go.

"Heh... I guess you're right..." I wiped the tears off my eyes and cleared my throat. I chuckled a bit afterwards. "So, what did you want to ask me?"

"Oh! Right, um, well..." She started twiddling her thumbs a bit. "I saw what happened in the spanish class, and thought that you needed a friend to help you, so... want to be friends?" She asked me with a joyful smile.

"Of course! Anything for you Flutters." I returned the smile.

Maybe this reality isn't as bad as I thought...
