//-------------------------------------------------------// The Sun and The Moon -by Thunderstorm823- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue **A week before the Sirens** Darkness. Nightfall's best friend, it seemed the darkness was the one thing that he would like to stay in forever. Nightfall kept hidden in a dark abyss of his basement, it was something that would be a routine for him every full moon. He sat with his legs crossed and his eyes shut as he began to feel the moment start to fill the hole in his heart, he wasn't afraid of the transformation but it was always painful. It was his punishment. His remorse. His fate. "You are the one person that is hard to find." A dark voice spoke within the darkness of the room. "But I always find you." Nightfall opened his dark blue eyes and looked up to see a silhouette just behind the set of dark poles, he stood up and went closer grabbing onto the pure silver cage door and glared at the shadow in front of him. "What do you want Blaze?" "I recently found some information that I thought you might like to know." Blaze chuckled darkly. "Unless you want me to leave?" "I'd like that, thank you." Nightfall spoke crossly. "It's your fault." Blaze pushed Nightfall back through the bars. "It's all of ours. You were the one that messed up." Blaze's attitude changed dramatically as he pointed at him through the darkness. Nightfall gripped the steel poles in front of him. "We're monsters Blaze, you hear me MONSTERS! If I haven't met you I wouldn't be in this mess!" Nightfall snapped. "Sunset Shimmer is here." Blaze said calmly. Nightfall loosened his grip, thinking it was a bluff. "Impossible, how could she be here? She's Princess Celestia's student." He countered. "She caught our attention when she turned into a she-demon and tried to control the entire school." Blaze started to laugh. "She's just as evil as we are." With the turn of his feet Nightfall went back to the center of the cage and sat down. "You should go, the moon is almost up. You know what happens when you get caught in your form." The light from the moon began to shine through the small window of the basement and shined onto Blaze who seemed unaffected by it, it showed his dark blue skin and his piercing red eyes. "Enjoy your night, Nightfall." Blaze turned and left the room in silence. Nightfall closed his eyes once more and waited. The sudden surge in his brain told him what always told him in this situation. 'Time to change.' The sickness in his stomach began to rise and swirl until he felt the pain start to receive into the heart of his blackened soul, then pain shot through his body like a bullet and his head jolted upwards as he let out a scream. His balance was lost and he landed on his back without even feeling it as the pain felt like millions of sharp needles were digging into every part of his skin, his entire body tensed up hard and the pain became excruciating. His screaming came to a stop as he felt hair seep through the layers of his skin and cover his body, his face began to shift and stretch out into a muzzle with his teeth starting to become sharper. His white skin reflected onto the hair that was growing and growing as well as his body tone. The most painful part of the transformation was the body turning into what he named 'Monster'. His grunts and breaths became a lot more low pitch, he flopped onto his stomach as the bones in his hands shifted and the fingernails began to grow becoming a lot more sharp. He pushed himself off the ground and looked around. The Transformation was Complete. He began softly sniffing before accidentally bumping into the silver pole that burned his skin. He growled and stayed in the middle of the small cage, he continued to sniff around before starting to howl like a wolf. He was a monster. The deeds he committed. The amounts of time he put into the clan because he was pushed into it. He was tricked. He didn't want to be the monster he set out to believe but his life choices were nothing but horrible and he believed he deserved this. To live in solitude without anyone to care for, to have any friends that would accompany him through lots of fun that he never knew would exist. Being lonely was the one thing that he knew would be the death of him. He killed. He tortured. He devoured. He wasn't always like this. This thing he was. He hated it. He loathed it. He thought of dying everyday but his wish never came true. With nothing but torment forever weighing on his shoulders he could do nothing but continue the life he led, with nothing but regret. Nothing will save him now. ...Or so he thought. **Meanwhile** Sunset Shimmer laid in her bed, staring at the blank ceiling above her. Hugging the fluffiest pillow she had, she had regrets but she soon made up for that by trying to change but it seemed no one believed her. Although she had gained new friends she couldn't help but still feel lonely, it always cut deep into her heart as if she was missing something completely important. But what was it? Was it to be accepted? To gain more friends to hang out with? To... love someone? All these thoughts seemed to haunt her, but the thinking she spent all this time on was correct. She was missing the embrace of another, to feel warm skin against her to  help her feel protected. From everyone. From herself. From all the fears she pushed away. She needed that special someone to guide her out of the darkness, someone she could tell anything to. The thoughts of being alone forever brought small tears to Sunset's eyes, she tried to think of someone. Anyone. But after what she did I don't think anyone would go with her, to help her. The rumors of her still being evil hurt her more than she realized, it was going to hurt her everyday knowing she would just have friends and have no one to be comfy with. Sunset shifted in her bed and laid on her side, squeezing tightly on the pillow as her tears slid down the side of her face. She dug her face into the fluffy pillow and softly cried, she didn't know why she was feeling the way she did but it was true. She was lonely. But she wasn't going to be lonely for much longer as for the future ahead of her. but she will have to wait.
