It had been thirty years since the infamous Darkest Night. The night were all of the magic of the world inexplicably disappeared. Forcing the inhabitants of Equus to adapt to a world without any magic in methods not been seen in Equestria for centuries.

The only places left in Equestria that still have law and order are the few remaining cities that scatter the countryside. While outside the cities, unlawful ponies and other races rule the land.

This story follows Midnight Shade, a hatful unicorn colt born and raised in an old-time town called Golden Heights. Who takes on a journey that brings him across a hostile post-apocalyptic Equestria, in hopes of figuring out his place in the world, to find other unicorns like himself and maybe make some new friends?

Unbeknownst to him, it turns out that the need for the success of his life quest is far more important for the world and everypony in it than he previously realized.

Rated Teen for swearing and gore.
