"Ingrid, please!"

My words were useless, once that mare had her mind set on something, you couldn't get her to change her mind.

"No, Emerald. I just can't anymore."

She was looking away. I could tell she was sad, too, even if she never admitted it. She'd been with me since as long as I can remember. My heart was breaking, she couldn't go!

"Ingrid please! What about Kate?!"

Kate was the nickname for Candy Angel, the five year old who lives with us along side Mental Tears. Candy Angel was a happy go lucky little filly with a love for socializing, she had bright blue eyes with a glimmering white coat and a ragged nest of a light green and purple mane. Mental Tears had some problems, bad problems. She was a 15 year old schizophrenic mental patient. She lived with us because Ingrid could easily use her powers to calm her whilst in the asylum it took about 26 stallions and 9 mares. Crazy, huh? She had a cream coat with a long pink dark mane and white highlights so we called her Alison, you'd understand if you saw her.

"She's be better off without me. She's five, Emerald. She won't even remember me."

Ingrid's voice was cold. She never really used it in that way other than to intimidate ponies who were a threat. Only us two and our roommates knew of her kind side.

"But she cares about you alot, Iggy! We all do and if we lost you what would we do?!"

Ingrid turned and walked up to my face slowly and carefully. I hated when she did this, it meant that we were going to be confronted.

"Jessica, you are a self-centered slob with no education and a lack of respect for things. I am sick and tired of having to do everything for you, you're 19. I'm not going to go easy on you because your parents' are dead, you should get your life on track and bulk up!"

Cold tears dripped from my eyes, every word was right. This was my fault. I took her for granted and now I'm losing her, the only pony who I could tell everything, the only pony who truly understood me. She was like a big sister to me and now I had driven her away. I'm a terrible pony, Oh Celestia just kill me!

I tried to form words but all that came out of my mouth was a faint cry. I couldn't do it, I couldn't lose her!

"I can change Ingrid, I promise!"

She raised a hoof and it connected with my face. My head turned and I rubbed the tingling spot. She slapped me.

"I advise you start looking for a job, Alison needs her pills every two hours and if she refused then put them in a sandwich."

Ingrid turned to leave once more, all I could do was cry, all I wanted to do was cry. I burry my face into my hooves and try to calm down but to no avail. A moment later I heard the door shut and the feeling of pure shame pours all over me like a waterfall. She's gone. She's really gone. As I continue to sob in my hooves I hear a quiet voice carrying confusion within.

"Jessica?"

It was Kate, she's heard. Damn.

"Jessica what's wrong?"

She walks over to me and lays down beside me. I look up at her with tear stained eyes, I need to explain this to her. That her most trusted friend walked out on her because of my ignorance. I clear my throat before inhaling and preparing to speak. She just looks at me with those innocent little eyes.

"You see, Katie... Sometimes in life ponies make the wrong choices and it can have terrible consequences."

"Yeah..."

"You know how I don't clean my room?"

"Yes."

"How about how I lay around all day and make Ingrid do all the things for us?"

"Obviously."

"Well... I put alot of pressure and responsibility on Ingrid and did nothing for her or even show a little bit of appreciation."

"So you two got in a fight again?"

"Well, yes but... This time my actions caused something really bad. This is my fault remember so don't blame yourself, you're only a child."

Kate nodded her head, I could see it in her eyes that she wanted everything to be alright and I wish it could but that's just not possible this time around.

"Ingrid has left us so I'm going to need your help with a few things. Is that okay?"

I turned my head to look at her, she was crying. Ingrid and her were really close and I ruined her first ever friendship. She nodded her head still in tears, I'd probably broken her trust. She'll remember this day for the rest of her life and beyond, I will too but a child's heart and feelings are alot more precious. This could give her depression, that could lead to insanity. I've messed up bad and the only thing I can say to her is 'it's alright.' If only that were true.

"S-She's gone?... Forever?"

She looked up at me, I began tearing up again. I sat on my hindquarters and picked her up, bringing her teared up face to my chest.

"It's going to be alright, ok? We're going to stick together and we'll be ok!"

I said in her ear as supportingly as I could, she made the 'mhmm' noise as a reply. I squeezed her hoof in order to support her some more. We stayed like that for 20 more minutes, until I heard a faint snoring sound. She'd fallen asleep. I smiled a little at this, she truly was precious. I remember me and Ingrid used to do that when we were foals. She was older so she'd always have to put a blanket on me and take me home. Instead, I just slowly went onto my back still embracing her and started to fall asleep.

We'd be Ok, as long as we have each other to rely on and trust.

Friendship is magic.
