A child of the frozen north
Chapter 1 - Filly in the mist
Luna watched ponies in their dreams, hidden from their sight. Ponies may sleep during her beautiful night, but they dreamed so soundly, and their dreams brought her much joy. She smiled as she watched the dream of a Filly named Apple Bloom, it was of her and her friends getting their cuties marks! Luna chuckled at the laughing of the fillies. She had helped them through a hard time of their life, she was happy to see it turn out well in the end. Luna headed out of the dream and to a path of pure star light.
"Who shall I check up on now?" She muttered to herself, then froze. She sensed a nightmare, and powerful dark magic. She jumped into the dream, but found herself lost in a black mist. "Oh my..." she had never seen a dream like this before. She heard a noise close by, she lit up her horn and looked for the source of the noise. The noise was from a little filly. Luna looked down at her confused, the filly was asleep...in her dream! Looking around, Luna saw shadows in the mist none of them looked like normal equestrian ponies.
"Who dares intrude a child's sleep?!" Luna yelled in her 'old talk to the ponies' voice. the shadows vanished, the mist remained. Luna lay by the filly. She was a dark red with dark green splodges all over. her mane was many colors, but her tail had less colors and in a different pattern. Luna had never seen a pony like her before. She placed her horn on the fillies head, she lived in the orphanage in Fillidelphia. Luna got up. "We shall meet soon, little filly." she promised, and left the dream, the sun was soon to rise.
"Good morni..." Celestia began, but Luna rushed past. "Luna?"
"Good morning sister, Sorry, i must dash!" Luna said, and flew off. Celestia watched her little sister go.
"Your majesty, where is princess Luna of too? and should we follow?" A royal guard asked
"I have no idea where she is heading. But, I believe she will be fine." Celestia smiled "Just keep and eye out for her return." Celestia headed to the throne room a guard next to her. "you may leave, i shall be fine." She said, he nodded and left her. Celestia got some parchment and a quill. " My dearest Twilight..." she muttered as she wrote.
Luna landed in front of the Fillidelphia orphanage. Many ponies pointed and gasped, as Luna knocked on the door. An earth pony opened it.
"P-Princess Luna, please come in." The earth pony moved allowing Luna to enter. "Is there something I can do for you, your highness?"
"Yes, I believe a odd looking filly lives here." Luna said "Dark red, with Dark gre..."
"You mean Scared Secret, has she done something to upset you?" The pony looked almost annoyed.
"No, no, the opposite. I came upon her dream last night, and whatever bothered her. I want to help her fight it." Luna looked down "May I speak with her?"
"This way." The earth pony led her to the highest room. "In here." She pushed open the door. The filly from last night sat looking out of the window. As soon as Luna entered, the earth pony closed the door.
"Hello, Princess." The filly said
"how did you..?" Luna began, the filly looked at her. She had two different eyes, on a redy purple, the other a bluey purple.
"I saw you, and the face Mrs. Duskyhooves pulled, proved you were talking about me..." The filly looked away.
"I saw your dream last night." Luna said, Secret looked over at her again. "never before has a dream but plagued by dark magic. I was drawn to it. I found you a sleep in your dream."
"I do not dream, just..." Secret fell silent.
"Something is stopping your dreams, Scared Secret, and I want to help you." Luna said
"How can you help from canterlot?" Secret muttered.
"I was thinking that... I guess I can't help you...unless you come with me." Luna nodded, Secret's eyes widened. Luna shook her head. "But, you wouldn't like it..."
"I would Princess, please... Let me go with you!" secret jumped up, Luna laughed.
"Now, you are acting more like a little filly." She giggled, she looked at the strange pony standing before her. Eyes gleaming with hope. "I have always wanted somepony to take under my wing." Luna smiled, pulling the filly to her side after wrapping her wing around her.
"Really?" Secret looked at her.
"Yes, now, lets go and speak to this Mrs. Duskyhooves." Luna smiled, they left the room together.
"Any news on Princess Luna?" Twilight asked Celestia, who shook her head.
"Luna has never been gone for a whole day be..." She stopped as they heard laughing. Suddenly, Luna and Secret burst into the room, Luna chasing the filly. Secret as laughing, then she tripped over a rug and landed at Celestia's feet. Secret looked up and shrunk back. "Who's this?" Celestia looked down at her.
"Celestia, this is Scared Secret... Last night her dream was being controlled by dark magic...so, I have taken her under my wing until I have found a way to help her." Luna said, helping the filly up.
"Well then, welcome, Scared Secret. I hope you like it here!" Celestia smiled
"Thank you princess." Secret smiled
"What about school?" Twilight asked
"Oh, right...How about the school in ponyville. the younger ponies are so kind there?" Luna smiled "I can take her there myself!"
"Well, she is your responiblity Luna, you should decide what's best." Celestia told her.
"Ponyville school it is. And if I can pick you up, Twilight, would you do it If i am busy?" Luna looked at the young Alicorn.
"It would be a pleasure too!" Twilight nodded "I will go and speak to cheerlie. " Twilight trotted off. Secret tugged on Luna's mane, The alicorn looked down.
"What if the ponies bully me?" She whispered "I don't have a cutie mark..."
"There are 3 fillies there, they have a little group called the cutie mark crusaders. They will be your friend. I know it." Luna reassured her "Now, lets get you some dinner and then off to bed. I will be there in your dream with you."
"Ok, thank you Princess." They trotted off to the kitchen, hoping there was some cookies, or possibly a little cake before dinner was served.
