Nixie heard a sweet voice cooing over her"Wake up Nixie, its time to get ready for school."
"But mom," Nixie groaned,"I don't want to go to school, its so boring."
"Come on Nixie, you know there is no escaping it."
"Ugh, fine" Nixie finally groaned as she got up. She slid her body down the recliner she had passed out on the night before and planted her feet on the floor. She put one hand on the armrest and the other on the seat and pushed herself up into a slumped stand.
Nixie began to walk of towards the bathroom when she felt something furry under her foot. A small smile grew on her face as she bent down to love on her beloved, loyal dog, Maggie. The young black Lab Dane mix lifted her head groggily and let out a loud long yawn. After waking up her huge puppy, Nixie trugded of to her room waking up very gradually as she walked. After getting dressed in her favorate T-shirt jeans and hoodie.  Nixie headed out of her room and into the bathroom. She completed the  "buisness" she had there and  left the room. She then followed the sweet smell of chocolate chip waffles to the kitchen. Nixie arrived to find her younger brother, already eating waffles  as fast as her dad could make them. She could already tell she was only going to get one or two before the waffle mix bowl was empty. She went on ahead and took the liberty of grabbing an apple and slipping the inch and a half long knife inside its it's small leather  sheath into her bra. Better safe than sorry was her small unwritten law. Nixie slipped on her boots and was about to walk out the door for school when she heard a loud bang. It wasn't the kind of bang that came from a gunshot or fireworks, it was a bomb. Out of instinct Nixie jumped on Maggie to cover her. Nixie felt the wave of heat and explosion wash over her. It ended within seconds she opened her closed eyes and found a surprising sight, a sight that was not at all possible.
