My name is Jake Garrison. I am a free runner who delivers packages for a living. It's a fun job and as a bonus, I get paid. I live in Manehattan, the place to be for anthros and humans alike. I lived alone in a one bedroom studio apartment, or used to before I met Hector. I have a girlfriend in Ponyville. Her name is Applebloom. And she is such a sweetheart. But anyway, I'm 17 with blonde hair and green eyes. I have a lean frame which helps for my job. I wear a white T-Shirt, jeans, sneakers and a half shoulder bag. I have a scar along my face from an accident where my cheek hit a pole. It doesn't look that bad though. But one day, my life was changed forever. March 30th, 2010. I was relaxing with my roommate Hector. It had been three months since he moved in. He took care of cleaning and I took care of cooking. But anyway, we were watching TV when I got a call on my cell phone. I answered it, and on the other end was a "Hello," with a voice that sounded burned up. I answered back with a "Hello." "Is this Jake Garrison?" "Yes," I replied. "I need you to deliver a package to me," responded the raspy voice. "On Hoofington Avenue, someone will be waiting for you with the package. If you say yes to the delivery, that is." I nodded. "Sure. I'll deliver your package." "Good. Now, get going. This package is important to me." And then, just like that, he hung up. I slung my bag over my shoulder and left. I started to run, and jumped up to grab a ledge. I then kicked off and grabbed another ledge. I repeated the kick and grab pattern until I reached the building top. I then ran and leapt onto another building, grabbing the ledge. I then pulled myself up, spinning and landing safely on the top. I ran continuously, then I hopped down a roof level. I hopped down a roof level until I reached the ledge. I then dropped down and grabbed a pole, where I slid down with ease and landed square in the middle of Hoofington Avenue. Some people had taken videos and a few pictures of me. I looked around and saw a café, where I liked to kick back and relax. It was called 'The Hoofington Perk.' I sat down at a table where a college kid sat there with a laptop. I guess the place had free Wi-Fi now. But anyway, I sat down and waited. A waiter approached me and he asked me, "Welcome to the Hoofington Perk, home of Manehattan's famous espresso. What would you like to have?" "That espresso sounds hype, I'll have that. How much?" "10 bits, sir." I paid up and waited. When it arrived, I took a sip and slowly fell asleep. 3 hours later... I lay in the chair, asleep, my espresso half drank, and my mouth wide open. I was then shaken lightly at the shoulder. This sudden motion woke me up, and I fell to the floor. Grunting in pain, I yelled out, "Who did that!?!" A man stood before me, concealing everything except his eyes, which were a deep blue. He was an anthro, I could tell by his muzzle for a mouth. He handed me a blue and silver spherical object and said, "Deliver this to Downtown Manehattan, on the Church rooftop," before leaving. I got up and grabbed the object, then slipped it into my bag. I ran downtown, and on my way, a few people waved at me, saying thank you for the packages I've delivered in the past for them. I simply waved back in response and started to climb a building. I then leapt from rooftop to rooftop until I reached the Church. I jumped and grabbed a ledge. I then lifted myself up and ran to the guy waiting there in a white hooded cloak. I stopped running and casually walked up to him. He turned to face me, and he had a look similar to mine. But that didn't matter. I took out the package and tossed it to him. He simply caught it, then tossed it back. "Open it," he said to me. I grabbed some handlebars on the ends and twisted slowly. I then pulled it apart, showing a cylinder that glowed blue in the center. "Now close it." I tried at first, but it appeared stuck. So I jammed it shut. And in response, an explosion occurred, and I passed out. Manehattan...changed...As our hero passed out from the explosion, Things occurred. A whole five blocks were turned to rubble, and buildings collapsed on people. Cars flew everywhere, and one bus crushed a helicopter flying nearby. Fire surrounded our hero, who lay in the epicenter of the blast, unconscious and bleeding slightly from the mouth and the forehead. Cars lay strewn along the path, where they were the source of the fire. Our hero soon awakes to the scene of destruction, and a helicopter flies overhead. "What are you doing down there!" Came an amplified voice from the helicopter. I looked up and saw a spotlight aimed at me. The voice then sounded with a "Hey! Get out of there! Get to the Hooflyn Bridge!" The spotlight then aimed itself at the parking lot behind me, where a shadow of a man appeared. The Helicopter flew over there to warn him to get out, but the silhouette disappeared in what looked like smoke. I stared, mouth agape, then shook my head. I looked ahead of me, seeing a path made by the flaming cars. I passed by them, running with a limp. I then passed by one car and it exploded, the heat radiating as shrapnel flew by my face. But now, I felt more...energized. My limp was still there but...I felt like it was healing slowly. I went back to running. I then tried to jump, just barely grabbing the top of a flipped over bus. As I pulled myself up on top of it, I saw corpses burning inside it. I threw up at the site, then kept running as I wiped off the vomit with a torn piece of cloth. I jumped to the ledge of the parking lot, grabbed it, and pulled myself up. I then got up and continued to run. A nearby battery exploded when I unknowingly stepped on it, the flames engulfing me. I grunted heavily in pain, for fire Isn't fun to mess with. But then, the smoke vaporized into my skin as the flames died down. I stared at my arms, then muttered to myself, "I...should have died...why didn't I?" 'Doesn't matter! Keep running,' I thought to myself. So I kept running, and my limp was gone. How? Oh well, Doesn't matter. I ran to the edge of the parking lot, but the drop was too far down, I would die from the distance. So I turned and faced a 20 by 12 pipeline that went from one parking lot to the other. I hopped onto it and balanced myself as I walked along it. I almost fell halfway there but quickly regained my balance as I went back to walking to the other parking lot. I then followed a path that lead to ground level, and ran to the Hooflyn Bridge. There were cops there, and one of them was leading civilians safely to the other side. I ran there and all of a sudden, cars exploded, the flames engulfing me. The cops died as their bodies were sent flying. Hector was on the other side of the bridge, yelling at me to get to the other side, that the terrorists were coming back for round 2. What terrorists? I thought to myself as I ran through the bridge. Cars lined up along the bridge blew up as I ran past them. I was even stopped by one. But I simply vaulted over it and kept running. My arms lit aflame as I ran, branding me with tribal style flame tattoos. It hurt, but I paid no mind to the pain as I kept running. Eventually, I reached the end of the bridge, and passed out from the pain I felt. As I slipped out of consciousness, I heard voices crying out as people died. I felt presences vanish somehow. And then...nothing... And so, our hero was rushed to a nearby warehouse that was once a Hospital. Hector called up Jake's girlfriend, who immediately made her way to Manehattan. She hooked up some stuff to keep him alive and sat down, crying and praying for Jake to live. But he would live. For he is our main character, and this...is inFAMOUS; Equestria. Meet Vinyl Scratch...part time DJ and part time kick ass electrical conduit.Vinyl Scratch was just sitting at the café when the explosion occurred. She got caught in the blast, but instead of immediate death, she felt power surge through her. Electricity flowed between her fingers and along her arms. Her eyes widened at the sight and her glasses fell. She then yelled in pain when she absorbed the electricity from a nearby car. She convulsed, going into a small fit of a seizure. But it then stopped, leaving her to lay there, passed out. Now... Vinyl woke up to the sounds of a monitor beeping like a heart rate. She turned her head, since everything else was sore, and saw a guy lying in the hospital bed next to hers. He had tribal flame tattoos along his arms. He was topless, but his jeans and sneakers were still on. His jeans were slightly tattered, and he had an IV needle stuck in his right arm. Vinyl's first thought; 'OMG HE'S HOT!!! SQUEE!!!' Her second thought; 'was he also caught in the blast?' Shortly after that second thought, the guy awoke. Vinyl blushed and immediately looked away. The guy looked at his arm and pulled out the IV needle. He then looked over to Vinyl, who pretended to just wake up after him. He then looked to her, and she saw he had green eyes that went so well with all of him. She blushed and looked away. He looked in confusion and simply held out his hand. "Hey. I'm Jake Garrison. I...don't remember coming here..." Vinyl looked towards him and held out her hand to shake his. "Vinyl Scratch's the name. DJing is my game. And for the record, you should put on a shirt." She said. He smirked and shook his head. He then let go of her hand and reached for his shirt, which was neatly folded by his bedside. She giggled and looked back at him. "Anyway, were you caught in the blast?" She asked. Jake nodded. "Not just that...I was in the center of it." Vinyl stared in shock. He survived from that? If it was powerful enough to make five square blocks become nothing, then it would've been strongest at the center. Yet...he lived... "So, what's your name?" She asked. He responded with, "Jake Garrison. Didn't I already tell you that?" She gulped and nodded. "R-right." She stated. This was getting awkward for her now. He got up and as if on Que, an anthro girl about 16 years old charged in and hugged him tightly, crying deeply. He gasped in pain slightly and coughed. She let go, starting to talk practically in forked tongue about how she was scared she might lose him. That's when it happened. Vinyl had electricity suddenly running along her hand, scaring her half to death. Then, Jake's arms lit aflame. They both yelled out in surprise and fear. The aforementioned girl fell backwards onto her rump as she gasped in shock. The flames electricity then died down, leaving Vinyl and Jake breathing heavily. One month later, a plague struck, and crimes were on the rise. Manehattan was on quarantine, and so everyone was locked away with the criminals. Talk about Equestrian Government with their villainy attempts. Meanwhile, Vinyl and Jake trained on their powers, growing stronger by the day. And so the adventure begins...
