They say that acceptance is the final part of the grieving process. Acceptance that, hard as it may be to take, and difficult as it may be to understand, the pony you loved is gone. Gone to a place above fear, above pain, above the shadows of our world. This is not easy to accept. It is far easier to give in, to let oneself slide into the depths of despair and torment, achingly yearning for what might have been. But sometimes, with the right companions and a gentle word of encouragement, one can finally begin upon the long road to recovery.
