Chapter one, introduction.
(A/N: 'This is my first attempt at writing, so honest critics are welcomed.')
Darkness, that's all I could see. 'Where am I,' I ponder'd. No light, check, smells like mold, check, not dead check, in a cave in batshit nowhere, check. I felt around with my hands trying to find a flashlight or something only to find that, my hands was missing a digit and grew into claw's. 'O.k,' get out of, wherever I am and find a mirror. Grunting slight'y I pulled my self up onto 'all fours,' only to fall over sideways down a rocky slope like an idiot.
Shaking my bigger head, and trying to find balance in my new state, "I'm a four legged being, and big".
'At least their is a little light,' I thought to myself quietly before the pain from the tumble set in. I quickly learnt how to walk in the current state i'm in, thinking the sequence I have made. 'Left top, back right, right top, back left, that's it, face plant.' "Fuck that hurt," hearing my voice echo in the cave.
Aside from grinding my face into the ground several times, on the cold wet rocks, I finally made it out of that cave only to have my eye's raped by all the color and sunlight.
"Damn you, why does it have to be so bright, i'm gonna have to get me some shades."
My vision adjusted to my new surroundings, where I took survey; ' I'm in a forest, judging by the shadows and mold I am near the north half of the equator, thankfully its summer and not winter, I'm on a slope so a water source is near by, and I have wings.'

"I can fly!" Jumping with joy I realized, I didn't know how too. 'damn it,' learn how to fly on my to do list. I searched for the muscle's responsible for flight. Once I found them they were natural to move, so instead of self teaching, I folded them up so i could walk without dragging them on the forest floor, and killing myself.
The forest smelt nice, clean, and rip with life. The soft breeze flowed nicely through my fur. The soil was soft. Like a kitten I pulsed my claws in and out of the dirt. While doing so I felt the need to arch my back, popping every joint in my back, giving a much needed yawn.
The slope led east, which is where the water should be, I took myself out of the trance, and fallowed the rising sun through the forest to the water source.
Thinking to my self while tracking the slope to the water, I have come to the conclusion, with the claws and the hind paws, I am a Griffin. My colors from looking at my wings and ass, I'm black and snow white. 'Mental note; find civilization.'
Trying to remember how I got here, I recalled something. It was just another average day. Got up, had a shower, school, got home, sleep, wake up, eat, back to sleep, repeat. It was a rut but it was my rut. School was meh, didn't have friends, well I could, but I could'nt relate to any of my class mates. They were too distant from what i liked, so I did my best to stay far away. Yes I got lonely at times due to my "unique ability." I was always able to feel other peoples emotions, and see who they truly are. Not a bad trait for most people, but It caused problems, lot's of problems.
Like making friends for example, I knew who hated me, and who did not, this caused massive trust issues thus me sticking to the background. How I developed this? Well try being alone your whole life in such a way, you were treated nothing more like a ghost, I had a mom and dad, but they fed me, clothed me, and lied of who much'd they loved me. Thankfully they didn't loathed my every being, they were just there and nothing more.
I was smart, but did nothing with it. I could diagnose any living being of all the mental problems in less than ten seconds, which by the way made my test subjects on the matter, think I was a creeper. I could look at rocket science problem and solve it all in my head. I developed a theory that 'could' prove; both the big bang theory, and the creationist theory is true, by which a race of some kind, evolved to the point of being able to scientifically, harvest the energy of the singularity to create a worm hole to the higher dimension's in which the race would be able to harness to quantum energy and matter, making themselves immortal, and allowing them to make a pocket dimension where they can create a universe.
But I did nothing with it, and instead played video games, watched anime, and My little pony friendship is magic.
Yep crazy smart.
Aside my ramblings, I just, for the life of me, can't remember how i got here!
Trekking through the rather comfortable grass and dirt, winding through the trees, and the nice summer breeze. I arrived at the river, crisp and clean. My mouth suddenly dry, I took a good couple gulps, and washed my face. Clearing my eyes I saw; A lost Griffin, pure white face, deep azure blue eyes, golden masculine beak, white hair barely over my eyes with black splashes at the tips, my chest the same snow white proud, and slightly dirty, my wings sleek, the base of them is black till it go's back to white half way down the feathers, my other half if all black, my tail looks that simular to a wolfs but a paint brush tip of the same white.
I took this rather well so far, but after looking at what I have become. I could not understand, 'why me? is this new beginning, and happy ending?' As I fall onto my flank, The tears started to blur my vision. I was frighten, I lost everything, whoever did this ill make him/her pay!
A wild wolfish smile enveloped my face, and maniacal laughter, echoed over the sound of the forest.
" Find civilization, learn to fly, and KILL THE BASTARD WHO PUT ME HERE!"
Its dusk, the eve of Twilight, after my episode early'er today I calmed down and sobbed solemnly. Deflated, I lay'ed in the warm sunlight grieving at all the things I didn't get to do. Sure I could care less about family, not that they cared anyway. I just, don't think I can go without the little things that, I came to enjoy so much. Like; playing Minecraft, Memebase, Mountain biking, a warm bed, Timy's coffee, and my dubstep.
I close my weary eyes, I am greatly tired, and need some sleep. It has bin a rough day, i could care less about food at the moment. The grass is strangely soft. The light, fading behind me to the west, I fall into a deep sleep.
"Hey!" "Leave me alone!" they're six big guy pushing me around, the leader speak's up.
"Or what?!"
He threw the first punch, then I lost it. Just as he went for a left hook I stopped his hand in mid swig and broke every finger, then I twisted his arm with enough speed and force, it dislocated from both his, elbow and shoulder. he cried in pain. I jumped up grabbing his head and slamming it into my nee, shattering his jaw, and knocking him out cold. Blood squirted out of his mouth, as a quickly dispatched his friends with unrelenting sadistic intent. I wanted their blood in my hands. I was over all their deformed body's, still alive, blood everywhere. I felt the ice flow through my veins, I didn't fight it. I WELCOMED IT!
"Hey wake up."
That's strange, last time I check i was in the middle of nowhere. Yet someone has found me? They must be friendly since i'm not dead.
I slowly opened my eyes to see a butter yellow pegasus with a long pink mane, a room with one too many bird cage's and a pissed off looking bunny.
Now my initial respons was as fallowed.
"HOLY MOTHER OF WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!"
She shriek and ran away crying out "i'm sorry Mr. Griffin."
The bunny smacked my upside the head with a carrot, and wouldn't stop till the 'mare' had returned to save my face from becoming carrot cake.
It was silent for a little while. I apologized for scarring her shitless. Now with all that has happend to me already, I was not expecting to meet Fluttershy! Let alone be in Equestria!
The awkward silence was unbearable, so I took the incentive in the most gentle voice possible.
"Hello, I didn't mean to scare you, I just took the, foalnaping, rashly." I gave her the best smile possible.
"So how and why, did I get here?"
She perked up, still a little shaken. From what i could guess she is four feet high and I am at least six. With the help of her friend, Angel she spoke up.
" Oh one of my animal friends saw you unconscious up the river, and thought you were hurt so I and my friends took you out of the cold and brought you here."
O.k, using commonsense I know it was her Ponyville friends from the show, and that I owe her and said friends payment for helping me out.
"So, whats your name Mr. Griffin?" " I'm fluttershy."
I knew who she was from the she so I'll pretend I heard her clearly. I'm in a land with techno colored ponies as a Griffin soo what should my name be? Twillight Winter sure why not. Twilight for my mystery side and Winter for my love of snow. Perfect.
"Nice to meet you Fluttershy, i'm Twilight Winter."
"Um hello, um, Twilight," blushing meekly at the, much more polite griffin.
"May I ask why were you sleeping in the snow, and without any winter cloths?!" "You cold get sick, or worse?!"
To my dismay she was concerned for my well-being despite my rare appearance.
"Well, it was just one of those days, too much to drink and crappy friends," I lied.
"It must have bin some really bad friends to do something like that," and flocked off to, somewhere.
She came back, carrying a bowl of soup, potato soup from the smell it gives off. 'Heh new nose figures' she placed it on the end table with a spoon.
"Well I wont let those meanies get you sick, eat your soup and get some sleep my friends will be here tomorrow to check up on you, ok?" giving a gentle smile she trotted off again.
I ate the wonder-full soup and curled back into this surprisingly comfy coach, and quickly fell back to sleep.
"Hello? Earth to Twilight?"
I opened my eyes to find I was in a temple of some kind and a elevated platform of some kid with strange symbol lay'ed under me. I looked around to this rather plain temple, only this platform and a chick at the shrine, wait, how long was she there?
I looked closer at her, she was a slender elvish like figure, blue hair and hot as hell, a cheeky smile on her face, she wore a over the top golden trim, sapphire dress with a cut running up her left leg up to he waist. She could she I was checking her out and did the come hither finger gesture, If this is a dream don't wake me up. I stood on all fours, 'crap still a griffin' whatever I don't keep my lady's waiting.
"Umm hello, miss may I help you?" Giving her a polite bow.
"Yes my champion, you can, tiss why I brought you here," her voice was very seductive, I was entranced.
"Why have you chosen me to be yours?" I ask.
"To be apart of the chess game of the gods."
Chapter two, Explanations.
I look at the goddess confused.
"A chess game for gods?" really,
"Yes, I know you look concerned as for what your part is so let me explain in full detail," she jumped of the shrine and began to circle around me.
"You are my piece in this game, where gods such as myself, bring our; Knights, pawns, rooks ect, into this world till the last man, or woman standing. They're many rules that must be fallowed at all times; one no altering the other players story in any way, two if you die game over, three you make your own path, four knowledge of the past is recommended, five you can not harm the towns claimed by the other players, six you must make sure to document your own devices in detail, and the golden rule, no sabotaging the other players. Your part in this is up to you."
she finished, I fell on my haunches taking in what she just said,' Im a piece in a game of some-kind to which my overall objective is my own and the person who I want to destroy is right in front of me.'
"So do I get anything special from you or am I on my own?" it was pointless to fight a god, let's face it Id lose. Giving a deep exhale, closing my eye, 'I must ease my hate for her and move on'.
"You are very wise Twillight, it is not common for a leaser being to forgive those whom have used you for their own gain," she purred. I opened up a bit, to see the environment has change to a vast vista of colors. We are in a meadow that stretched to the horizons. I took in the sight in awe.
"Where are we now?" I ask with calmed content. I lay'ed on the soft flower bed, feeling the comfort of the blissful atmosphere.
"This is your heart, emotion, and spirit..." she knelt down to pick up a rose, "...most people are dark by nature, while fewer are corrupt," she put the rose down, pain in her eyes, she looked out ward.
"So I am the one in a million, to be this way?" I asked, The sorrow faded away too her smile.
"Yes you are, I wish more were like you..." her voice cracked. I know when a person is hurting, she must have entered my world to see all the; war, murder. poor, suffering. It broke her. I wouldn't blame her, to most that didn't fight the norm, they would be stripped of their innocence as young as I have. Maybe the world be more peaceful? I don't think so.
"...But that will never happen," she looked away and regained control.
"Twillight huh?," I asked to myself. I thought of what she would give me, which being in my mind made her feel my curiosity. She lighten up a bit and answered my question.
"Yes, each piece so far has bin giving a unique tool to give them an advantage, but Ill be more generous with you," she mused. She stood back up as did I. I blinked and we were back in the temple. She sat back on the shrine and crossed her legs, the peace of my happy place fading away, and got back on topic.
I thought about all of it, if each piece was given a tool to give them an advantage over the other what would I chose to be my own? I took everything into account except I didn't know her name, that might give me a clue as to what shes capable of?
"My I ask, whats your name, and no its not my wish," I asked.
I smile crept apon her face, as well as a slight blush.
"Its Hylia," she sheepishly replied.
" You may chose what you believe is a good tool for your own use," her eyes wondered around like a school girl trying 'not' to flirt with her crush, which I believe she has one for me.
"Ok, lady Hylia, I wish for the ability that will let me learn magic faster, and use it more fluently," I asked, giving her a wolfish smile, to see if she does have a crush for me. It would make sense,' I think.'
"As you wish," she smiled,
"And no, I do not have a crush on you," Hylia said rolling her eyes. She so does!
Flustered, she started to do her magic. A faint glow enveloped her hand before it flew onto my chest creating the hylian crest, in black.
"This is not an extension of my magic but of yours, tread valiantly my hero of worlds as this is my first and last farewell," she kissed the top of my head and disappeared. 'Told you!'
I woke up In the same cottage I was brought to, I looked down to see the crest was there, and that my dream was real. 'I was kiss by Hylia, cant wait to rub it in,' I hear Fluttershy open the door fallowed by an assault of cold dry crisp winter air.... wait didn't I fall asleep in the summer time?
It was late afternoon, and almost having a heart attack from learning, its winter time?! It was summer last time I checked. I asked Flutters how long I was out when she and her friends found me, and the answer was. ONLY A FRICKING DAY!!! Being thrown into Equis while I slept in my room, having a snoze in the warm summer air, only to time travel six months forward or backward in time! 'At least I have a warm place to sleep for now'. 'DAMN YOU MAGIC!!!' i yelled to myself.
Its morning. IT has bin three days since I arrived in this somewhat peace-full land, and I was already sick of it. My world was truly chaotic, nothing ever stayed in one spot for long and had to move in some fashion. Always work for useless pay, not really caring about the future, the same dead end jobs for people who wanted to be "normal" to the rest of society, while the" individuals" get shunned and separated from all social contact. That was my life, trying to stay as much as myself as possible, till I took a Hylia to the knee.
Am I going to stay that path here? If so how would I be interpreted as? Strange. humble, creative, honest, hyper, subdued, paranoid, out of place? Then again, I was always "out of place."
I met Flutters friends, not that it really mattered, I knew who they were, but they were different somehow. I don't know how to put it but they where more reluctant to talk to me. That conversation was simple, it was just a 'hey you better, good, bye!' than they left. By they I ment just Rainbowdash, and Applejack. No twi, rarity, pinkie, spike, just those two. I was kinda hoping for the entire group too show up cause; a strange griffin found beside a frozen river, half buried in snow, should have cause some minor concern for all of them, but nope, just those two.
Resting on the couch I new I couldn't stay here. I had to move on, to a place where I can do my part, and try to learn about my new home. I made a plan of action; Learn to protect myself, get close to high society, find all the wrong, gain influence, become the anti-hero, reasons, profit, build castle. Good, now that I have a plan of action time to go.
I got up off my sleeping spot and went straight for the door, even thou It was snowing I had to do it alone. I reached the door, and just as I reached for the handle i hear a thump behind me. I surveyed the living room the animals sleeping quietly, all except one, Angel. He looked up at me with a stern expression his arms crossed and trying to stare me down, or up? Despite only being twelve inches tall. He began making wild motions, which I new what he ment. He didn't want me to go.
"Angel, I can not stay. It is not safe for either me nor Fluttershy if I stay," I whispered. He made more gestures symbolizing that I had to stay and pay her back.
" I will give my gratitude to her on a later date, but I must leave. I don't want to give her any more trouble?"
I could tell he was frustrated. Thankfully he understood. Angel made more paw signals which probably told me not to come back until I was ready to give payment. I nodded a good bye, turned to the door, left the warm cottage, and ventured into the blizzard.
"Damn this was a bad Idea," I shivered teeth clattering.
I walked a good half day south through a blizzard, obviously regretting it. I was cold, snot forming cartoon fangs out of my nose, claws cold, and frostbite was settling in. Not that it mattered,' I love winter!' how can I love winter? Don't know, just do. Off to the distance was a road side inn, maybe two miles further, ' Ill stop there and get warmed up.' With a new vigor I pushed through the snow faster.
Apon arriving I can confirm that it is an inn, only half buried in snow, but the smoke stack very active. I broke off my snotsickles with mild pain. Trying to look presentable I walked right in. Just as I entered two feet into the place, a glass bottle smashed into my face. "hey who did that!" I slurred. Realizing my new found fear I tripped trying to flee. I got back up, and was half out the door when my vision began to fade and strange dog like creatures surround me. I fall with a great "thud" and passed out.
