Reflection
Chapter three- Just don't kick the bucket
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFor a few moments, the shard was still normal. Then the image changed from Pixel's reflection. In a rippling wave, they could spot out the makings of a broken-down shack, a lake in the back-round, and a small campfire on the inner shore.
"Um..Where do we go ?"Cherry said, looking up at the night sky.
With a sigh, Pixel levitated the map from her saddle bag and studied it.
"They said we're in Argentum, right? Well the map says the only lake in this place is north. I suppose water is taken from wells here."
"Oh, well I guess we should start walking then."
Pixel stared at her, once again dumbstruck.
"Cherry..."
"Yeah, Pixel?"
"I'm a unicorn-kirin."
And before you could say butterscotch, the two of them were on the other side of they lake, peering out of the bushes. Well... not Cherry. She was 4 feet away, throwing up behind a tree.
"What...The...Buck." though she was out of breath and still sick to her stomach, she still decided to argue with Pixel.
"Oh, calm down, Worry-Wort. I cast my magic with sulfer. It'll pass."
After throwing up one more time, Cherry joined Pixel by the bush. Looking over across the lake, They saw a small stallion, his light gray coat turning almost white in the fire light.
"His mane..." Cherry said. "It's beautiful."
Indeed it was, as a dark silver, it looked like stygion iron. Gleaming within the moonlight.
Pixel swore she could feel the heat radiating off of Cherry.
Deciding not to question it, Pixel took a step forward, out of the bushes. Though the stallion didn't notice, Pixel got a better look at his cutie mark from under his wings.
A rusty hammer was the main attraction, with a few also rusty screws and nails in the back-round.
Pixel was tired of all the long explanations and meetings so she whistled across the wide lake, still loud enough for the stallion to hear. Terrified by the sudden out burst, he jumped up and, to Both of the mare's surprise, drew a rusty iron dagger from under his wing. Cherry, seeming to know what she was going to do, yelled at her "Just don't kick him!"
Sighing, Pixel tramped into the water and began to swim across. When she reached the other side, the stallion was trembling. Pixel raised a hoof and slapped the dagger from his mouth. With a stubborn look she demand, "Swim. Now."
When they reached the bushes where Cherry was still hiding, Pixel forced the stallion to sit down.
"What's your name?" Pixel was tired of the long shit.
"R-Rust Bucket"
"Where's the shard?"
"Wait. What."
Sigh. Here we go again.
Pixel asked again.
"Where's the mirror shard."
This time she got a real answer.
"Oh, this dumb thing?" Rust Bucket pulled a shard out from under his wing.
Relief, fear, confusion, you name it, Pixel and Cherry felt it.
Snatching the shard from his mouth with a levitation spell, she placed it to the right side of her shard. A white glow engulfed the two peices, when it finally sub-sided, they were bonded together.
"What do I get for it?" Rust Bucket's voice broke the silence.
Scowling, Pixel turned her attention back to him.
"What do you want?"
"Well... You two are pretty cute... Maybe you could-?" He made joining motions with his hooves.
Cherry broke the awkward silence this time. "Buck. No."
"But you can come with us." Pixel chimed in.
Surprisingly, without knowing what was going on, Rust bucket came with them.
As they walked the trail that led away from the lake, Pixel couldn't help it anymore.
"Hey, Cherry?"
"Yeah?"
"Am I really not sexy enough for you?"
