Chapter 1
There is a young man going to work, about 20 or so. He walks on the cracked, worn sidewalks, nothing particularly out of the ordinary, with the exception of his cheerfulness this morning. It is very unusual to be cheerful in the country of 4chan, since their fascist government usually exterminated people just for the fun of it. If someone is happy in this country they are either insane or they found an escape from reality, and for this young man the escape was a daily viewing of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
He arrives at a worn down brick building with broken windows and graffiti on the walls. This is his place of work, the factory. The man checks his appearance in the washroom mirror as he changes into his uniform. He has bags under his eyes from an all-night session of MLP but other than that he seems fine. He is also thin since the residents of 4chan get meager rations every other day, and he has brown, thick hair; which he only cuts every month or so. He takes his punch card with his name “Danney Sherkley” and punches in. throughout the day he polishes off nameless machine parts on the conveyer belt with his greasy white rag and does this more diligently than usual today since his attitude has improved.
At the end of the day he punches out and heads off to the exit, but his boss calls him to the office. The boss, being about forty and obviously overweight with the extra rations of the privileged, instructs Danney to sit down. “I called you to my office because I am concerned about how you reflect the image of this enterprise,” he says
“What do you mean, Sir,” asks Danny in a visibly nervous tone.
“Well some of the executives think that a brony is not as intelligent as a regular person, and so does the government. There was recently a new policy established stating that we have to pay higher taxes for hiring bronies, so we have to let you go,” the boss says in an overly casual tone.
“But my production numbers are higher than the rest of your employees,” says Danney as he is wringing his hands “You can't possibly be serious about this!”
“Well I am serious, so get the fuck out of here you stupid ponyfag,” the boss pointed to the exit.
Danney walked home in a state of worry and panic that seemed to agitate his stomach as if he had eaten a big pile of dog shit. He knew that the government would not send him his inadequate rations if he was unemployed, and no one will hire him with the new law in place. “I am going to starve to death,” he realised “I am going to die a slow and horrible death,”
When Danney arrived at his apartment he had a similar incident with his landlord that he had with his boss which left him homeless. Danney took up his collection of hand-made plushies and started walking. He walked for hours and hours into the dark night, until he found a large box to sleep in. He slept like a log after all that walking.
A jolt awakens him. He scans around for a second or two, wondering where that jolt came from. He looked up to see a bearded man with a shotgun. “ Get your ass out of here! This is brony territory,” the bearded man yelled.
“I’m a brony,” said Danney “Look,” He showed him his plushies.
“Alright, you proved it. Follow me,” he said, and Danney followed him.
