Ruby P.O.V
I ran down the corridor as fast as my hooves would carry me. Mom said she needed me right away, I hope nothing bad happened to her or dad...Mom didn’t even give me the message in person, she got Spike to send me a letter. I pushed open the door and saw Mom, her friends and a bunch of kids I didn’t recognize. Oh great, guests.
It’s not that I hate people, I’m just really shy. Dad tells me that I need to learn to talk to people, to make friends, to stand up for myself. It’s easy for him. He was a member of the royal guard before he got married to Mom. He was born brave and funny and easy to talk to. I can’t even say a sentence to anyone, who isn't in my family, without freaking out and hiding behind my hair.
I look like both Dad and Mom, but my personality is completely different. Mom’s clever and friendly and Dad’s kind and helpful, me… I’m shy and easily scared.
"There you are dear, take a seat." I nervously did as Mom said and sat down next to a colt with a snowy white coat, blue eyes and a lilac mane and tail. "Hi there." I jumped and turned round to see who was speaking to me. It was the colt I was sitting next to. " The name's Prince, what's your name?" I opened my mouth but my throat went dry and all I could say was 'Errrrr.....' Dang it! Why do I always have to look stupid?!
Prince P.O.V
Mother had dragged me up to the castle to visit her friend, Princess Twilight. She said there was urgent business she needed to attend to. When we arrived we found that everyone was already there, everyone but Princess Ruby Beat. We sat there board as anything until the throne room door slammed and a young alicorn, around a year younger than me, ran in. She had long indigo hair tied up in a neat ponytail, gorgeous emerald green eyes and a light purple coat. She looked amazing. When she came and sat next to me I tried to play it cool. "Hey there," I said. "The name's Prince, what's your name?" She looked startled when I spoke and seemed tongue-tied, but hey, it was kinda cute....
